  • 웹상의 3차원 세계를 구현할 수 있는 국제표준 언어인 VRML/X3D를 이용한 Web3D콘텐츠의 요구가 증대되고 있다. 본 논문은 VRMI/X3D에서 지원하는 안개(Fog)효과의 한계를 고찰하고 효과적인 안개효과를 개선할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다 거리계수를 파라미터로 사용함으로서 지역적인 안개의 표현과 다양한 안계밀도를 생성하는 방법을 실험하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 고속도로 대형 추돌사고의 원인이 되는 안개로 인한 시정거리 악화를 개선하기 위한 방법으로 염화칼슘 연소탄, 초미립자 살포기, 강풍기, 건조공기 등을 이용한 안개소산 시스템에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 국내 환경에 적합한 안개소산 시스템을 개발하기 위해 다양한 안개소산 방법에 대한 현장 성능실험을 통해 검증하였고 강풍기와 열풍기를 결합하여 생성한 건조공기를 통해 공기중의 상대습도를 떨어뜨려 안개를 소산하는 방식이 시정거리 개선효과가 우수하였으며 이를 통해 고속도로 및 터널의 출입구 등 안개 발생으로 운전자의 시정거리가 낮아져 발생하는 사고를 미연에 방지할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Image Matching Based on Robust Feature Extraction for Remote Sensing Haze Images (위성 안개 영상을 위한 강인한 특징점 검출 기반의 영상 정합)

  • This paper presents a method of single image dehazing and surface-based feature detection for remote sensing images. In the conventional dark channel prior (DCP) algorithm, the resulting transmission map invariably includes some block artifacts because of patch-based processing. This also causes image blur. Therefore, a refined transmission map based on a hidden Markov random field and expectation-maximization algorithm can reduce the block artifacts and also increase the image clarity. Also, the proposed algorithm enhances the accuracy of image matching surface-based features in an remote sensing image. Experimental results confirm that the proposed algorithm is superior to conventional algorithms in image haze removal. Moreover, the proposed algorithm is suitable for the problem of image matching based on feature extraction.

Pre-service Elementary School Teachers' Understanding of the 'Fog' Generation Experiment Presented in the 2009 and 2015 Revision Elementary Science Textbooks (2009 개정 및 2015 개정 초등 과학교과서에 제시된 안개 발생 실험에 대한 초등 예비교사의 이해)

  • This study investigated the understanding of pre-service teachers in relation to the 'fog experiment' in the 5th grade 'Weather and Our Daily Life' unit of the 2009 and 2015 revised elementary school science textbooks. Pre-service teachers who participated in this study were 100 students, who are attending the university of education and taking courses in teaching research. After pre-learning about the 2009 and 2015 revised elementary school science textbooks and guide book, pre-service teachers conducted the experiment in groups. After that, the pre-service teachers individually presented answers to three questions, and the results of analyzing the answers are as follows. First, there were 24 (24%) preservice teachers who explained the difference in fog generation in the 2009 and 2015 revised curriculum with related scientific concepts such as condensation and water vapor, and only 1 (1%) of them explained the difference using the concept of saturation. Second, there were 48 (48%) pre-service teachers who found out the reason for the change in the fog experiment method according to the change in the curriculum. Third, pre-service teachers valued the reproduction and success of experiments rather than the importance of scientific knowledge, and such pre-service teachers suggested the use of alternative experiments or website.

Development of Lane Detection System using Surrounding View Image of Vehicle (차량 주위 전방향 촬영영상을 이용한 차선 검출 시스템 개발)

  • 본 논문에서는 차량에 부착된 4대의 어안렌즈 카메라 영상을 이용하여 차량 주위 전방향의 주변 정보를 포함하는 정합 영상을 생성하고, 생성된 정합 영상에서 차선을 검출하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존의 전방 카메라만을 이용하여 차선을 검출하는 방법들은 안개와 같이 기상 환경이 안 좋은 경우 가시거리가 짧아져 정상적인 차선 검출이 어려운 문제가 있다. 이에 반해 4대의 어안렌즈 카메라로 차량의 주변을 촬영한 영상은 기상 환경에 영향을 적게 받아 안정적인 차선 검출에 용이하다. 어안렌즈 카메라로 촬영한 영상은 왜곡이 심하기 때문에 왜곡 보정을 수행한 후 차량 위에서 아래로 내려다본 시점으로 투영 변환하여 하나의 영상으로 정합한다. 정합영상에서 관심영역을 설정한 후 차선 후보 영역을 검출하고, 검출된 후보 영역들로 차선을 직선으로 모델링한다. 점선 차선 구간이나 차량 흔들림에 대응하기 위해 직선으로 모델링된 차선 정보의 차선 각도와 차량으로부터 거리 정보를 칼만 필터 기반 추적 및 보정하여 안정적으로 차선 검출을 수행한다. 실험 결과 제안하는 방법은 실선구간에서 99.57%, 점선구간에서는 90.48%의 검출 정확도를 가진다.

Two-Stage Design Optimization of an Automotive Fog Blank Cover for Enhancing Its Injection Molding Quality (자동차용 안개등 커버의 사출성형 품질 향상을 위한 2 단계 설계 최적화)

  • Injection pressure, an important factor in the filling procedure, should be minimized to enhance injection molding quality. In addition, warping deformation and weld lines, which are representative failures, should be avoided to enhance injection molding quality. To improve injection molding quality, the design procedure for an automotive fog blank cover is divided into two stages. In the first stage, we optimally obtain injection molding process variables that minimize injection pressure and warping deformation by using design of experiments, approximation and optimization techniques equipped in PIAnO (Process Integration, Automation and Optimization), a commercial PIDO (Process Integration and Design Optimization) tool. Then, we determine the thickness of the automotive fog blank cover that enables us to avoid generating weld lines. The design results we obtain in this study are found far better than those of the initial design, which demonstrates the effectiveness of our design method.

Performance Analysis of Object Detection Neural Network According to Compression Ratio of RGB and IR Images (RGB와 IR 영상의 압축률에 따른 객체 탐지 신경망 성능 분석)

  • Most object detection algorithms are studied based on RGB images. Because the RGB cameras are capturing images based on light, however, the object detection performance is poor when the light condition is not good, e.g., at night or foggy days. On the other hand, high-quality infrared(IR) images regardless of weather condition and light can be acquired because IR images are captured by an IR sensor that makes images with heat information. In this paper, we performed the object detection algorithm based on the compression ratio in RGB and IR images to show the detection capabilities. We selected RGB and IR images that were taken at night from the Free FLIR Thermal dataset for the ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) research. We used the pre-trained object detection network for RGB images and a fine-tuned network that is tuned based on night RGB and IR images. Experimental results show that higher object detection performance can be acquired using IR images than using RGB images in both networks.

Vehicle-to-Vehicle Broadcast Protocols Based on Wireless Multi-hop Communication (무선 멀티 홉 통신 기반의 차량간 브로드캐스트 프로토콜)

  • Inter-vehicular communication that propagates information without infrastructures has drawn a lot of interest. However, it is difficult to apply conventional ad-hoc routing protocols directly in inter-vehicular communication due to frequent changes in the network topology caused by high mobility of the vehicles. MMFP(Multi-hop MAC Forwarding) is a unicast forwarding protocol that transport packets based on the reachability information instead of path selection or position information. However, delivering public safety messages informing road conditions such as collision, obstacles and fog through inter-vehicular communication requires broadcast rather than unicast since these messages contain information valuable to most drivers within a close proximity. Flooding is one of the simplest methods for multi-hop broadcast, but it suffers from reduced packet delivery-ratio and high transmission delay due to an excessive number of duplicated packets. This paper presents two multi-hop broadcast protocols for inter-vehicular communication that extend the MMFP. UMHB(Unreliable Multi-Hop Broadcast) mitigates the duplicated packets of MMFP by limiting the number of nodes to rebroadcast packets. UMHB, however, still suffers from low delivery ratio. RMHB(Reliable Multi-Hop Broadcast) uses acknowledgement and retransmission in order to improve the reliability of UMHB at the cost of increase in transmission delay, which we show through simulation is within an acceptable range for collision avoidance application.
