Since the beginning of 1960s, Korea has been advanced into Africa but we are much too late to extend its business in African Market due to lack of understanding about there. From being the latest Africa is understanding as 'Rising Sun & Post Brics' for Korea. As an advance strategy in Afrcan Market suggest to get international co-operation from ECA, OAU, IFC together with IMF & IBRD etc.

유엔에이즈계획(UNAIDS)은 아프리카의 에이즈(후천성면역결핍증) 창궐에 즉각 대처하지 않을 경우 2025년까지 8천만 명 이상이 숨질 것이라고 최근 전망했다. UNAIDS는 지난 3월 2025년 아프리카의 에이즈 3대 시나리오 보고서를 발표했다. 이 보고서에 따르면 지금 어떤 정책과 조치를 시행하는가에 따라서 2025년 아프리카는 3개의 다른 미래를 맞을 수 있으며 4천3백만 명의 목숨이 좌지우지 될 것이라고 밝혔다. 또한 2천억 달러에 가까운 필요할 것으로 예측하였다.

In this study, for the purpose of correct viewing on the image of Africa and understanding of modem fashion, African image and art, the general characteristics of African costume, the background of fashion subjecting African image, and the trend according to ages were examined based on theoretical background. Then the researcher drew African image by analyzing the works in four 2005 S/S major fashion collections to designers and design factors. The ten voted designers' and brands' works in 2005 S/S collections had four concepts of African image; 'Wild Erotic', 'Abstract Primitive', 'Natural Elegant' and 'Sporty Romantic'. The viewpoint of modem fashion on African image from the aspect of design, designer and fashion trend can be examined as below. First, African costume, which was religious and ceremonial, appeared to emphasize its esthetic side with decorative details in modem fashion design and designers competed to choose a method to harmonize tradition and modem style and by adopting these from occult to decorative meaning, Second, fashion designers presented city unpolished beauty of modem women to a special style and made african image to be recognized as a code of fashion culture by integrating it with modem people's mind to go back to the past and admiration for the purity of nature. Third, thanks to the instinctive vitality hidden in the primitive life, inspiration for creative design that is found in the esthetic mind of the Indians, foreign taste emphasizing ethnic trend, and admiration to naturalism due to the increase of concern over ecology, 'African image' led the beginning of 21C trend by being settled as a in fashion trend.

Since the 2000's, interest toward Africa in Korea has increased rapidly. Korea's interest in Africa began in the second half of the 1960's. However, this interest in the 1960's was motivated by political and diplomatic necessity at the time rather than the needs of indigenous groups in Africa. Korea had to oppose North Korea's diplomatic expansion in Africa to gain the support of international organizations like the United Nations. This interest in Africa motivated by diplomatic needs vanished quickly after the end of the cold war in the 1990's. Authentic Korean interest in Africa began to emerge in the 2000's. Korea's rising international status based on economic development led to a natural interest in Africa, which was the last frontier on earth. As a result, African studies in Korea increased significantly after 2010. The increase in the number of theses, articles and books was remarkable from 2010-2016, in comparison with 1957-2010. In spite of the increase in the quantity of thesis, articles, and books, the problem with Korea's African studies is above all, its preponderance. Over 75% of thesis and 70% of articles are concentrated in the domain of politics and economics. This reflects the fact that Korea's interest in Africa is based on short term political and economic interest, indicating that Korea's African studies did not deviate from the rudimentary phase in its quantity and quality. Another problem with Korea's African studies is the lack of integration of different types of research. African studies in Korea has three components, government funded research centers, university laboratories and individual researchers. The government funded research centers focus on the overview of African nations and their political and economic information. University laboratories mainly perform research on the theoretical aspects of politics, economics, human sciences and culture in Africa. Individual researchers are concerned with various categories. However, these three groups have failed to achieve a synergic effect on African studies in Korea and most of the research on Africa does not extend beyond each academic area. To overcome this problem, first of all, a live exchange may be necessary between domestic researchers.

It is important for Korean corporations enter the market of Africa, a repository of varied mineral resources including petroleum gas, in terms of resource securement, preoccupancy of emerging market, and expansion of diplomatic influence. Taking account of strategic value of Africa, the African market has an infinite potential for Korea who has insufficient resources, so it is very important to set proper market penetration strategies and to accurately evaluate their performances. This study is to analyze the performance of Korean corporations' market entry to Africa through casual relationship analysis between characteristics of Korean corporations' export environments, market entry strategies to Africa, and their performances. According to the result of analysis, market entry period, corporate management, and marketing strategy among strategic factors for foreign market entry positively influence on corporations' performances. Therefore, Korean corporations need strategies of centralization, segmentation, and marketing to improve their business performances.

European philosophy helped to justify colonialism through a philosophy of history that privileged Europe. This paper reviews and examines postcolonial African philosophy's efforts to overcome colonialism. Postcolonial African philosophy has been trying to reexamine the essence of philosophy determined by European philosophy for freeing African philosophy from that determination. The emergence of postcolonial African philosophy itself has been a challenge to European philosophy. When European phil. will open itself to this challenge, there will be a possibility of dialogue for desirable relationship between two philosophical traditions. For European philosophy to open itself is to be seen and judged by the non-european, ie, African philosophical regard. Postcolonial African philosophy's efforts to overcome colonialism give questions and challenges to us who experienced and are remain to be under the influences of colonialism and has the task of overcoming it.

The distinguished feature of the economic relationship between China and Africa during the cold war is the one that there was economic point of view at all even though such a huge trade between the two countries. It was caused by purely ideological and political purpose of China. because of the giant stream of time which is called as 'the cold war', it has been replaced with other conceptions: 'aid' or 'support.' Since the end of the cold war, however, the relationship between China and Africa has been showing noticeable features; political and ideological purposes are getting less meaningful or excluded completely. In 1990, China was based on the pragmatism, which is a rigorous sense of economy, and Africa was getting popular as an emerging market, which is not only performing as a stable energy supplier but also making trade and direct investment is possible. Also, it has implications for Korea that seriously considers putting more efforts into expanding its influence on all over the trade relations which includes investment and import-export in the emerging market: Africa.

Korea-Africa relations date back to the period of independence of African countries. During this time, the ties between Korea and Africa has passed through stagnation, inconsistencies and weak diplomatic exchanges. Recently, Korea began to refocus its efforts towards Africa in order to revitalize their relations. This paper examines Korea's public diplomacy strategies towards Africa and how its various strategies are working in the interest of Korea as well as Africa. The study shows that Korea's renewed interest in Africa is primarily driven by the security threat from North Korea and the need to diversify its market for industrial goods as well as energy sources. The latter motives override Korea's interest in the continent. These motives are not at variance with those pursued by large powers like the US and China in Africa. Furthermore, the paper shows that Korea is employing a mixture of public diplomacy instruments in Africa with varied outcomes. Economic linkages between Korea and Africa are on an upward trajectory since the late 2000s. In order to build sustainable relations, the paper provides a number suggestions with far-reaching implications on Korea's public diplomacy towards Africa in the future.
