  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the organization system and the labeling system of information architecture of a website for the elderly. To achieve this aims, we selected a representative website, i.e., Naver, and the participants were conducted given three types of search tasks using their own information literacy skills and they were answered to the questionnaire and an additional interview, if necessary. A total of 74 valid data were collected through the experiment, and we analyzed the data using SPSS Ver. 20. It revealed that Naver received a positive evaluation in the organization system aspect, particularly its systematic subject categorization and chronological browsing mechanisms. Old adults were preferred the icon-based labeling than the text-based labeling system, and showed a significant difference among their academic backgrounds.

  • The purpose of this study is to study the elements that make up the interface design of the applicatio, focusing on Android's Google Material Design Guidelines. and propose a way to produce the UI design guide by categorizing it according to form and combination methods. The components provided by the Materials Design Guidelines were disassembled form and attributes, types, and the characteristics. The components of UI design include surfaces, letters, icons, and media, which enable the creation of UI style guides, and the components for the purpose of exploring and communicating information, with different components and rules of use used for the purpose. Based on these results, I would like to propose design criteria for the interface of mobile applications and how to utilize it effectively.

  • This paper deals with a 2-D objects recognition algorithm. And in this paper, we present an algorithm which can reduce the computation time in model retrieval by means of hashing technique instead of using the binary~tree method. In this paper, we treat an object boundary as a string of structural units and use an attributed string matching algorithm to compute similarity measure between two strings. We select from the privileged strings a privileged string wIth mmimal eccentricity. This privileged string is treated as the reference string. And thell we wllstructed hash table using the distance between privileged string and the reference string as a key value. Once the database of all model strings is built, the recognition proceeds by segmenting the scene into a polygonal approximation. The distance between privileged string extracted from the scene and the reference string is used for model hypothesis rerieval from the table. As a result of the computer simulation, the proposed method can recognize objects only computing, the distance 2-3tiems, while previous method should compute the distance 8-10 times for model retrieval.
