This study aimed to develop a model to explain the factors influencing father's parenting stress, and to verify the appropriateness of the model. The participants included 1609 fathers with a 5-year old. The study used 2012 Panel Study of Korean Children (PSKC) by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE), and analyzed with SPSS and AMOS programs. The analysis showed that first, father's income and parental efficacy were negatively related with parenting stress and father's depression and marital conflict were positively related with parenting stress. Second, father's parenting stress was directly and indirectly impacted by parental efficacy and their child's temperament. These results suggest that father education are needed for promoting positive paternal mental health and parental efficacy, to reduce parenting stress of fathers.

Correlation analysis, T-test, One-way ANOVA were used for the statistical analysis and the statistically significant level is p<0.05. Results:1) CDI mean for total children is $13.5{\pm}6.77$, BDI mean for their mother is $13.3{\pm}7.25$, and BDI mean for their father is $11.6{\pm}7.03$. 2) There are significant differences in CDI for children variables related to sex, health, school achievement, economic status. 3) Mother's health slightly affect children's depression, but there are no significant differences in CDI for parents' education, religion, father's health. 4) Children's school achievement and economic status among variables related to children affect mother's BDI scores and children's school achievement affect father's BDI scores. 5) For CDI item analysis, there are significant differences in 10 items for children's sex, in 8 items for health, and in 6 items for economic status. Especially, there are significant differences in 20 items among 27 items for children's school achievement. 6) There is significant correlation between parents' BDI scores and children's CDI scores, and especially high correlation to mother for both boys and girls. Conclusion:Children's depression are significantly affected by children's sex, health, school achievement, economic status. And especially school achievement affect grossly children's depression and their mother's depression, so we know that children and their mother have much burden about school achievement. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of family environment and individual psychological variables on adolescent's problem behaviors. The subjects of this study were 855 students of middle school who reside in Seoul and 791 self-reported questionnaires were used for final analysis. The major results of this study were as follows: First, gender differences in adolescent's problem behaviors were not found. Second, depression, mother's monitoring and father's parenting behavior were found to have effects on adolescents' problem behaviors. Particularly, male adolescents' problem behaviors were influenced by depression and father's parenting behavior. Female adolescents' problem behaviors were influenced by depression, father's monitoring, and mother's monitoring.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of family economic distress, paternal depression, marital relationship, and controlling parenting style on behavioral problems in young children and to present a program for their reduction. The participants of this study were 344 fathers, whose young children were attending kindergartens located in Cheongju city. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and Pearson's productive correlation, t and F-tests via the SPSS 12.0 program, with the path model analyzed using the AMOS 7.0 program. There were six paths where family economic distress, mediated by paternal depression, marital relationship, controlling parenting style, had effects on the behavioral problems in young children. However, the path where family economic distress had an indirect effect on the behavioral problems in young children via paternal depression and marital relationship appeared to be the most influential. Also, paternal depression appeared to have the most impact on young children's behavioral problems.
The purpose of this study was to examine the moderating effect of perceived parental empathy in the relationship between self-esteem and adolescent depression. A sample of 437 adolescents completed self-report measures of self-esteem, depression and parental empathy. The collected data were analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis. As a result, parental empathy moderated relationship between self-esteem and depression. And awareness of emotion, empathic emotional reaction, and cold emotional reaction of father had moderating effect on the relationship between self-esteem and depression. In case of mother's empathy, cold emotional reaction and excessive emotional reaction had moderating effect on the relationship between self-esteem and depression. The significance of this study is to find out the important of parental empathy for depressive adolescents who are experiencing self-esteem of low level.

The purpose of this study is to find out how a parents' mental characteristics with preschool children(self-esteem, self-efficacy, depression) has effect on a mother's parenting stress by the medium of a father's parenting stress. The fourth year data of The Korean Children Panel of the KICCE(2011) was used, and the collected data was fathers and mothers with 1,754 children who are more than 35 months but not more than 42 months. For data analysis, analysis of frequency and correlation analysis were carried out using SPSS 18.0, and they were analysed with Structural Model to observe the relationship of each variable and influence, and it was found that the goodness of fit of the model was outstanding. As a result, the psychological traits of fathers impact directly on mothers' parenting stress. Mothers' psychological features increased mothers' parenting stress by a medium of fathers' parenting stress. The study showed that fathers' parenting stress that is a mediator variable performed a role as a mediator variable.
The purpose of this study is to explore further understanding of variables, besides father's alcoholism, which relates to psychosocial adjustment among ADAF(adult daughters of alcoholic fathers). This study examines the relationship between father's alcoholism, family functioning, parental attachment and the psychosocial adjustment among the ADAF. From a larger sample of 463 female college students, 160 ADAF and a matched group of non-ADAF were identified to participate in the study. This survey was conducted in Seoul and Gyungi-do area. Participants completed self-report questionnaires, "The Korean Version of Children of Alcoholics Screening Test", "Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment", "Satisfaction With Life Scale", "Self-esteem", "Beck Depression Inventory" and "Family Environment Scale". Path analyses was used to test the research question. Findings indicated that father's alcoholism had no direct effect on both the psychosocial adjustment of the ADAF and the family functioning. But father's alcoholism was significantly related to parental attachment. Family functioning was significant predictor of attachment to parents as well as psychosocial adjustment. Finally family functioning is important cause for parental attachment and psychosocial adjustment, specifically self-esteem and life satisfaction outcomes only. Therefore parental attachment was function as a mediator in the relationship between family functioning and psychosocial adjustment. In conclusion, this study showed that father's alcoholism did not predict outcome. We need to reconsider the assumption that direct link exists between adult adjustment difficulties and the presence of father's alcoholism. Implications for clinical and theoretical work with ADAF are discussed.
