A 51-year-old male was admitted three month previously with a cardiac stab injury and he underwent direct cardiac repair He had no problem after this event. He complained of dyspnea that stalled 2 months after the original injury. Echocardiography showed severe tricuspid regurgitation and so, chordac replacement and ring annuloplasty was performed. Herein we report on a case of tricuspid valve repair for treating tricuspid insufficiency following a cardiac stab injury.

Epipericardial fat necrosis (EPFN) is a relatively rare cause of acute chest pain, with only five pediatric cases having been reported in the English-language medical literature to date. EPFN can be diagnosed based on the clinical symptoms of acute pleuritic chest pain and classic CT features of typically ovoid fatty lesions surrounded by a rim or capsule in the mediastinal or pericardial areas. Previous studies have reported that contrast-enhanced MRI can detect typical fat signal changes in adults with EPFN. We report a pediatric EPFN case diagnosed using gadolinium-enhanced MRI. Thus, contrast-enhanced MRI may be used to confirm EPFN in the differential diagnoses of the causes of acute chest pain.

In young adolescent girls, anorexia nervosa is a significant cause of weight loss, and hospital admissions among children and adolescents. Anorexia nervosa is a life-threatening disorder, with about one-third of deaths caused by cardiac complications. A high rate of pericardial effusion has been recently reported in patients with anorexia nervosa, although relatively few cases require pericardiocentesis. Here, we describe three patients with anorexia nervosa who were diagnosed with large pericardial effusions. To prevent cardiac tamponade, pericardiocentesis was performed in two girls.
