  • Complete dentures are one of the most basic treatment methods for the treatment of edentulous patients. The manufacturing process of traditional complete dentures goes through the steps of taking primary impressions, secondary impressions, jaw relation record, trying in wax denture, and final denture insertion. Multiple visits and complex manufacturing procedures are required, and errors may occur in each step. With the development of digital technology, manufacturing steps have been reduced by introducing digital technology to the denture treatment process. In the process of manufacturing dentures by introducing a digital process, a more precise work is possible using Computer-Aided Design, and it is possible to shorten the period of labor and reduce the number of visits. In this case, the anterior teeth arrangement of the patient's existing dentures was transferred to the final dentures using a digital method. After taking impression, try-in dentures were digitally fabricated and tried in the oral cavity to evaluate their retention in the oral cavity. Final dentures were manufactured by milling process. The number of visits was reduced, satisfactory retention and stability of dentures were obtained, and aesthetic recovery was achieved.

  • Application of digital technology in dental treatments can simplify the treatment process and reduce patient discomfort. In regards of digital complete dentures, several commercial systems are available. However, these systems are not being routinely applied in Korea. In this case report, comparative analyses were performed regarding the two sets of complete dentures fabricated in digital and conventional workflow in a single patient. Complete dentures made with digital workflow were able to form an ideal occlusion because customized teeth were used. Compared to that, there were also limitations such as lower retention of mandibular dentures, so we would like to report this.

  • Physiologic tooth attrition is accepted as a natural change. But when pathologic changes, such as loss of occlusal vertical dimension, masticatory pain, loss of masticatory function, and loss of esthetics occur, restorative measures should be taken by dentist. A patient visited the clinic with the chief complaint of 'My lower teeth bite the palate and it hurts'. It was diagnosed as iatrogenic attrition of lower natural dentition caused by inappropriate upper restorations, resulting in traumatic overbite. Through model analysis and diagnostic wax up, increase in vertical dimension was decided. Upper and lower dentitions were restored with new prostheses. After restoration, satisfactory outcomes were achieved both in functional and esthetic aspects.

  • The treatment of fractured teeth in the upper anterior area has various causes and clinical symptoms at different ages. Most patients come to the clinic in emergency state, so if you're treating them with accurate diagnosis criteria, You'll get aesthetic and functionally satisfying results. I'm going to take a look at the treatment of the upper anterior tooth, which is more sensitive than other parts, with the case I've treated before. The case I treated cannot be the answer, but I hope it will be of any help if youencounter similar symptoms in your clinical trial.

  • The treatment of patients with severe periodontitis should be proceeded step-bystep through an accurate diagnosis of each patients' individual tooth and with a strategic treatment plan. Implant-supported fixed prosthetic restoration has the advantage of high patient satisfaction and stable vertical dimension compared to the removable partial denture. However, multiple teeth defect areas lacking hard tissue may be disadvantageous in aesthetic failure and longer treatment time. In addition, it takes a certain period of time to manufacture and install a conventional fixed prosthesis, and during this process, the provisional prosthesis must satisfy the mechanical, biological, and aesthetic requirements of teeth. The purpose of this article is to describe the fabrication of implant-supported fixed prosthesis through a step-by-step approach in a partially edentulous patient.

  • Full-mouth rehabilitation with increasing vertical dimension can be used for patients with severely worn teeth. In severely worn teeth also, the alveolar process can be elongated to compensate for the reduced vertical dimension, and the patient's vertical dimension of occlusion can be kept constant. However, full-mouth rehabilitation with increasing vertical dimension must be carefully chosen, because the vertical dimension can be reduced by tooth wear. It is important to establish a treatment plan with the systematic diagnosis of the change in the vertical dimension and gain space for the prosthesis. It is necessary to change the vertical dimension to secure the restoration space and select the minimum vertical dimension elevation for the esthetic and functional goal. In this case report, the patient complained of difficulty during chewing due to a worn dentition and wanted esthetic improvement of the short mandibular anterior teeth. After systematic evaluation and diagnosis, we performed full-mouth rehabilitation with minimum vertical dimension elevation to obtain the space for restoration. This resulted in a stable and harmonious occlusion, and the functional and esthetic problems of the patient were solved after treatment. The patient was satisfied with the results of the treatment and maintained stable occlusion during the follow-up period.

  • Since the end of the 1990s, zirconia, which has been applied to dental prostheses, has been used in the form of coping or framework. The prostheses made in this way have been successfully used in the anterior teeth because they have no metal components as a structure. But in the posterior teeth, its use was limited due to the fracture or chipping of the veneering porcelain during the function. Later, as a solution to this shortcoming, a monolithic zirconia restoration was proposed in which a strong coping material was used in the form of a complete prosthesis. But, this resulted in some unesthetic results due to the characteristics of zirconia, which has excellent resistance to strong forces but is very white and opaque. However, now, due to technological advances in increasing the translucency of zirconia, it is possible to produce strong and esthetic zirconia restorations not only in the posterior region but also in the anterior region. In this article, the structural characteristics of various types of zirconia materials that have been developed so far, were discussed, and where the zirconia products actually in use belong to was explained.
