The present study is designed to explore psychological correlates of career barrier of female college students in engineering fields by investigating psychological characteristics of female students and by comparing them with those of male students. For these ends 1,968 female and male students in 8 universities nation-wide completed the questionnaire which includes the measures for self career aspiration, self-efficacy, satisfaction and expectation in engineering career. The results of our study revealed female students scored significantly lower than male students in all of these variables. In addition, the developmental patterns of female and male students differ significantly; Male students aspiration, self-efficacy, expectation and satisfaction increased with the school experience whereas those of female students did not show any change or decrease. The results call for the intervention to improve the psychological vulnerability of female students in engineering field.

Depression is a mental symptoms that accompany psychological symptoms such as anxiety, gloom, a sense of failure, helplessness as well as a physical symptoms that shows in the adaption process of stress. Depression may result in cognitive, emotional, and behavioral disorders in accordance with individual experience. In particular, the depression when growing lowers the concentration on studies of children and adolescents and also increases the violence and interpersonal problems causes a serious loss to individuals and society. This study analyzed the longitudinal data using mixed models to investigate how depression affects girls who experienced violence in home or at school.

This research examined the relation between personal history of residential moves and psychological independence. In particular, this research tested how actual self-importance (vis-a-vis perceived social importance) of values (Study 1) and preference for uniqueness (Study 2) would vary as a function of past experience of moving. The results showed that personal history of residential moves was positively linked to actual self-importance of individualistic values and perceived social importance of collectivistic values. In addition, the results demonstrated that individuals with frequent residential moves generally showed a greater liking for uniqueness. The implications of these results for the direction of causation between residential mobility and psychological independence are discussed and suggestions for future research are made.

This Study used phenomenological research method to understand disability acceptance and recovery experience for the life care of adolescents with disabilities. As a result, the study found four components: confusion and psychological anxiety due to disability, gradually accepting disability, strengthening motivation for recovery, overcoming disability, and returning to society. Psychological comfort was obtained through the support of the family and the psychological rapport between the therapists. The Youths with disabilities experienced a change in their perceptions of disability and hoped for life after discharge, overcoming frustration and showing their positive future. Based on the results of this study, we were able to understand the disability acceptance and recovery experience of adolescents with disabilities and identify the components of acceptance and recovery. The derived components can be used to guide disability acceptance and recovery interventions for the care of youth with disabilities.

Objective : The purpose of this research was to understand the emotions of disabled in starting relationships with the opposite gender and disclosing experienced events related to starting relationships with the opposite gender. Methods : In order to gain an understanding of experience, emotions and process of people with acquired disability, phenomenological study, a form of qualitative research was used. Data on subjects was collected through in-depth interviews, on-the-scene recording and technical observation diary, etc and were analyzed through Colaizzi's phenomenological study method. Results : Subjects who had acquired disabilities experienced changes in physical, psychological, social aspects and especially in the course of relationships with the opposite gender. Data from in-depth interviews of 8 subjects were analyzed 6 types of subject themes were derived. 1) Diagnosis of varying psychological reactions. 2) Various psychological reactions of parents and the other gender. 3) Through aggressive support rehabilitation volition will change. 4) After you have a disability as a lack of social skills. 5) Changes in confidence through rehabilitation. 6) the other gender for the different ideas. Conclusion : This research is valuable in presenting important data in understanding problems and emotions of relationships of people with acquired disabilities with opposite gender. Starting relationships with the opposite gender has more meaning than any other interacting activities in society. Conflicts exist in starting relationships and support programs for various specialists are indispensable.

The purpose of this study was to identify the influencing factors of Korean adolescents' consumption of convenience foods based on a bio-psycho-social model. Data were obtained from the 15th (2019) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey, which involved a nationwide representative sample of 57,303 middle- and high-school students. As a result of the study, gender, grade, and atopic dermatitis were biological factors of convenience food intake in adolescents. The psychological factors were perceived stress level, experience of depression, suicidal ideation, subjective sleep sufficiency, perceived health status, physical activity, and current smoking and drinking. And nutrition and meal education, breakfast frequency, subjective academic achievement, subjective economic status, and family living together were sociological factors that affected adolescents' convenience food intake experience. Therefore, it is necessary to provide effective nutrition education programs and provide emotional support to manage healthy eating habits of adolescents. In addition, family members of adolescents should be included in education.

This research, with the participants of the female elderly using a home-visit bath among long-term care services, made an in-depth analysis of what they experience while getting a home-visit bath. We conducted in-depth interviews with 8 elderly people. According to the result, the female elderly experienced the absence of a caregiver, difficulty in carrying out daily life due to physical diseases, getting what they need by themselves, getting comfortable in body and mind, accepting their given situation though feeling shame at getting a bath, and expressing their desires. In addition, they had a close relationship with a care helper. On the basis of the results, a systematic training system which could intensify the professionalism of care helpers was suggested. For the enhancement of the elderly's emotional stability in a long-term care, an integrated case management system was also suggested, which supports the family by organizing an integrated network by region between a long-term care service, home-visit care service, welfare center, and the National Health Insurance Corporation.

The previous researches of gambling have been rather focused on the legal gambling industry and gambling addiction and ignored the issue of illegal gambling. But, illegal gambling in Korea has been continuously growing in its volume and the numbers of the relevant mental and social problems such as gambling addiction, crimes, suicides, and etc. have been increasing rapidly. The present study investigated the psychological characteristics of illegal gamblers with comparing gamblers who never experienced illegal gambling (NE), who experienced illegal gambling but participate mainly in legal gambling (EIG), and who participate mainly in illegal gambling (MIG). 1317 NEs, 177 EIGs, and 37 MIGs were recruited and completed an online survey that measured individual dispositions (risk-taking tendency, regulatory focus, locus of control), attitudes towards gambling regulations, misconception of illegal gambling, motives (monetary, excitement, socialization), and emotions. First, EIGs and MIGs, compared to NEs, preferred risk-taking, and EIGs were more promotion focused than NEs. Also, EIGs perceived illegal gambling as less illegal and tended to hold more misconceptions about illegal gambling, compared to NEs. Furthermore, EIGs and MIGs had stronger monetary and excitement motivation than NEs. Finally, MIGs were more likely to feel anxious than other groups. Focusing on the illegality of gambling, the characteristics of illegal gamblers are discussed and political implication on illegal gambling is suggested.

Studies that approach from the point of view that human thoughts or minds are dominated by behavior as well as that human behavior is dominated by thoughts or minds, have begun to attract attention from the late 2000s. The physical experience is reminiscent of a metaphorically connected abstract concept, which ultimately affects the judgment or evaluation of a particular object. However, studies that have been carried out so far have been limited to studies on the difference in perception and judgment depending on the objects to be viewed, the objects to be touched, and the objects to which they are carried. In this study, we tried to find out that the physical movement of the body in the upward or downward direction affects the psychological judgment differently. In the first experiment, a pair of words that were considered to be connected metaphorically was tested. In the second experiment, the subjects tried to solve the complicated calculation problem in a short time, and then they watched the video related to the upward movement or downward movement, and then proceeded to measure the psychological judgment. As a result, it was found that 'downward movement' of the body has a metaphorical connection with 'closure', while 'upward movement' is related to 'progress'. In the case of downward-experienced group compared to upward-experienced group, the reverse intentions of their own decision were low, and the confidences in their own decision and the expectations for performance were high.

인간에게 경험이란 삶의 흔적이며 과정이다. 어떤 경험을 했는지, 느낌을 갖게 되었는지, 본적이 있는지, 만진 적이 있는지 등 다양한 인지 요소들은 그 기억만으로 그 인간의 특성이 되고 성질이 된다. 이러한 모든 경우를 재인이라고 한다. 이러한 기억 인출 단서들이 현존감이 강한 가상환경에서 발견되느냐, 발견되지 않느냐에 따라 미디어적 환상성이 아닌 사용자에게 가상에서의 '현실'을 제공하는 중요 요소로 작용할 것이다. 또한 가상현실 콘텐츠의 이해가 미숙한 사용자라도 가상환경에서 선행경험에 대한 재인요소를 제공받을 수 있는 중요한 단서가 될 수 있다면, 콘텐츠에 대한 높은 만족감을 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구는 가상현실 콘텐츠의 만족도를 올리는 요소로서, 재인에 대하여 고찰하고 개인의 재인과 가상현실 콘텐츠 만족과의 상관관계를 연구하여 양질의 콘텐츠 서비스를 제공하는데 기여하고 가상현실을 경험하는 사용자의 심리적인 영역까지 이해의 폭을 넓히고자 함이다.
