An Experimental Investigation on Condensation Heat Transfer Inside Vertical Tubes (수직관내 응축열전달에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • 냉동.공조 및 각종 화학공업에 널리 사용되는 열교환기인 응축기의 고성능화 및 합리적인 설계를 위해서는 냉매의 정확한 응축열전달률 예측과 그 메카니즘 규명이 필수 요건이다. 본 연구에서는 내경 9.7mm, 외경 12.7mm, 길이 1200mm의 수직 이중관 응축기의 압력강하 및 응축열전달특성을 실험적으로 밝혔다. 실험으로부터 Lockart-Martinelli의 상관 관계식을 이용한 수직 응축관내 압력강하 특성을 종래의 실험식들과 비교.검토하고 새로운 압력강하식을 제안하였다. 그리고 종래의 해석방법과는 달리 비환상류 모델을 가정한 해석결과로부터 전 유동양식에 걸쳐 적용할 수 있는 새로운 응축열전달 예측식을 제안하였다.

Air-Water Flooding in Multirod Channels : Effects of Spacer Grids and Blockages (다봉채널내의 공기-물 플러딩 : 스페이서 그릿 및 블럭키지의 영향)

  • This paper presents the experimental results on flooding of countercurrent flow in vertical multirod channels, which consists of falling water film and upward air flow. In particular, the effects of spacer grids, with and without mixing vane, and of blockage in the multirod bundle on the behaviour of flooding were investigated. The 5$\times$5 zircaloy tube bundle was used for the test section. The comparison of previous analytical models and empirical correlations with present data on flooding showed that the existing models and correlations predict much higher flooding curves. The spacer grid causes the lower flooding air flow rate to compare with the bare rod bundle. However, the mixing spacer grids need a higher flooding air flow rate for a constant liquid flow rate than the spacer grids without mixing vanes. The bundle containing blockages has the highest flooding air flow rate among the bundles with spacer grids and blockages. Empirical flooding correlations for the three types of test section have been made.

Experiments on Natural Convection on the Outer Surface of a Vertical Pipe by Using Fluids with High Pr Number (높은 Pr 수의 유체를 사용한 수직 원형관 외부의 자연대류 실험)

  • In this study, we investigated the natural convection on the outer surface of a vertical pipe by performing mass transfer experiments using fluids with high Pr number using the concept of analogy between heat and mass transfer. A cupric acid-copper sulfate electroplating system was adopted as the mass transfer system. Tests were performed for $Ra_H$ numbers from $1.4{\times}10^9$ to $4{\times}10^{13}$, Pr numbers from 2,094 to 4,173, and diameters from 0.005 m to 0.035 m. The test results for laminar flow conditions were in good agreement with the correlations reported by King, Jakob and Linke, McAdam, and Bottemanne, and those for turbulent conditions with the correlations presented by Fouad for a vertical plate and also proved the dependence on Pr numbers. The obtained correlations were $Nu_H=0.55Ra^{0.25}_H$ for laminar and $Nu_H=0.12Ra^{0.28}_HPr^{0.1}$ for turbulent. The transition between laminar and turbulent occurs at $Ra_H$ of about $10^{12}$.

An Experimental Study on Tube-Side Heat Transfer Coefficients and Friction Factors of the Enhanced Tubes Used in Regenerators of Absorption Chillers (흡수식 냉동기의 재생기에 사용되는 전열촉진관의 관 내측 열전달계수 및 마찰계수에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Enhanced tubes are used widely in the heat exchangers of absorption chillers. In regenerators, corrugated, ribbed or floral tubes are commonly used. In this study, the tube-side heat transfer coefficients and friction factors of enhanced tubes were obtained experimentally using the Wilson Plot method. The results showed that the heat transfer coefficients and the friction factors were the largest for the corrugated tube, followed by the ribbed tube. The heat transfer coefficients and friction factors of the floral tube matched those of the smooth tube within 4%, which suggests that the heat transfer and friction characteristics of the floral tube may be accounted for properly by the hydraulic diameter. The B(e+) and g(e+) were obtained from the experimental data of the corrugated and ribbed tube. The B(e+) and g(e+) of the corrugated tube matched those of the existing correlation within 20%. The present results may be used for an assessment of the heat transfer and friction characteristics of the enhanced tubes for regenerators.

  • Laser-induced incandescence (LII) 측정법은 조사된 레이저에 의하여 입자가 가열됨에 따라서, 그 온도에 상응하는 흑체복사의 시간적 감소추이가 입자의 크기에 따라서 달리 나타나는 것을 이용하여 입자의 크기를 측정하는 방법이다. LII 감쇄법은 레이저에 의하여 가열된 입자의 에너지 균형 상관식에서 입자의 크기가 클수록 신호의 감쇄속도가 느리고, LII 신호의 감쇄비가 실험적으로 입자의 크기에 비례한다는 사실을 이용하여 연소진단에 응용되어 왔다. (중략)

  • In this paper, an experimental investigation is performed to estimate the thermal performance of a natural convective heat sink with plate fins subject to the uniform wall temperature condition. Extensive experiments are performed with various input powers, fin spacings, and heights of the natural convective heat sinks with plate fins. In particular, the effect of the inclination angle on the thermal performance of the heat sink is studied. In order to validate the experimental data, the experimental results are compared with results from previous studies. Based on the experimental results, the appropriate ranges of the previous correlations between the input power, the fin spacing, the fin height, and the inclination angle for the natural convective heat sink with plate fins are evaluated.

A Study of Correlation between Soil Characteristic and CBR value by Experimented Method (흙의 특성과 CBR과의 상관성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study analyzed the correlation between the engineering characteristics of soils, and the CBR values in order to figure out the eligibility of quality criteria as construction materials, by attempting to reduce time and costs for the CBR testing and predicting the results of the CBR testing. The study also analyzed the correlation between the percent passing of No.200 sieve, liquid limit and compaction characteristics, on the basis of the soil testing data conducted at the Yeongdong construction area. This study will provide necessary data for road pavement plans and designs by analyzing the correlation between the percent passing of No.200 sieve, the degree of activity and the swelling rate, and suggest the correlation formula with each soil.

Evaporation Heat Transfer Characteristics of Carbon Dioxide in a Diameter Tube of 4.57mm (내경 4.57mm 관내 CO2의 증발 열전달 특성)

  • The evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ (R-744) in a horizontal tube was investigated experimentally. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump, a mass flow meter, a pre-heater and evaporator (test section). The test section consists of a smooth, horizontal stainless steel tube of inner diameter of 4.57mm. The experiments were conducted at mass flux of 400 to $900kg/m^2s$, saturation temperature of 5 to $20^{\circ}C$, and heat flux of 10 to $40kW/m^2$. The test results showed the heat transfer of $CO_2$ has a greater effect on nucleate boiling more than convective boiling. Mass flux of $CO_2$ does not affect nucleate boiling too much. In comparison with test results and existing correlations, All of the existing correlations for the heat transfer coefficient underestimated the experimental data. However Jung et al.'s correlation showed a good agreement with the experimental data. Therefore, it is necessary to develope accurate predictions determining the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in horizontal tubes.

  • Recently, for UHPC (Ulta High Performance Concrete) which is researched actively, as the tensile strength is absolutely influenced on the content of steel fiber, in this paper, experiments of compressive strength, elasticity modulus and tensile strength were performed according to compressive strength and content of steel fiber as variables. By the test results, compressive strength, elasticity modulus and tensile strength are proportioned and have a good correlation and according to content of steel fiber, compressive and tensile strength are also proportioned and have a good correlation. In case of elasticity modulus, the difference between test and present design code is not large, so it is possible to adapt to present design code. On the other hand, in case of tensile strength, as there is no specification of present design code, new prediction equation is proposed by using nonlinear regression analysis and the proposed equation have a good correlation to test results.

  • 압전 센서와 액츄에이터를 이용한 단순지지 평판의 능동 진동제어에 관한 실험적 고찰을 하였 다. 외력과 압전 제어력에 대한 평판의 진동 진폭반응을 고찰하여 구한 이론식의 타당성을 실험적으로 검증하였으며, 사용된 진동원으로는 집중 진동 여기기와 압전 구동기를 채택하였다. 실머치와 이론치 상 호간에는 양호한 상관관계를 보였으며, 비교에서 나타나는 정략적인 오차의 원인을 분석하였다. 본 연구 에서는 고찰된 방법은 임의의 외력조건과 제어 알고리즘에 대해서 적용이 가능하다.
