User Acceptance of Virtual Personal Assistant Devices : An Extended Perspective of Perceived Value (가상개인비서 기기의 소비자 수용에 관한 연구 : 사용자의 지각된 가치를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop a comprehensive research model that can explain potential customers' intentions to adopt and use VPA(Virtual Personal Assistants) devices. This study proposes and validates a new theoretical model that extends the perceived value theory. Partial least squares analysis is employed to test the research model and corresponding hypotheses on data collected from 313 survey samples. Perceived value, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment are important factors affecting the adoption of VPA devices. To increase potential users' intention to use, VPA device manufacturers should not only focus on developing utilitarian functions but also fun features based on open development echo-system. This study is the important empirical attempt to examine user acceptance of VPA devices, as most of the prior literature has concerned analysis of usage patterns or technical features.

Structural Relationship between Intellectual Capital and Organizational Performance in a Customer Service Organization: Focused on the Role of Dynamic Capability (고객서비스 조직의 지적자본과 조직성과 간의 구조적 관계: 동적역량의 역할을 중심으로)

  • This study explores which organizational capital is important for the customer service center and how the organizational capital is linked to organization's performance through dynamic capability. In this study, total of 389 employees in customer service centers were surveyed for the analysis. The results indicate that relational capital and organizational culture were positively linked with collaborative behavior, capital share, and capital transformation. Also, structural capital was a significant factor in collaborative behavior. Organizational performance was positively affecting collaborative behavior and capital share. This study provides a practical guideline on how to manage organizational capital and supplement shortcomings for managers and counsellors at the customer service centers. Furthermore, the implications for the reinforcement and development of organizational capital were suggested in building a customer service center as a strategic and fundamental part of the company.

Fast Staggered Data Broadcasting and Receiving Scheme for Simple and Efficient Video on Demand Services (주문형 비디오 서비스의 복잡성와 대역폭 효율을 개선한 Fast Staggered 방식)

  • In designing a video-on-demand (VoD) system, one of the major challenges is how to reduce the viewer's waiting time maintaining a given bandwidth allocation and how to reduce the client's buffer requirements. To solve these problems, many VoD schemes were proposed. However, most VoD schemes require managing many segments of a video, frequency channel hopping, and using many channels at the same time. Therefore, to the complexity is a barrier to implementation. In this paper, we propose a fast staggered broadcasting scheme which has a simple structure and substantially improved VoD efficiency. The numerical results demonstrate that the viewer's waiting time of the fast staggered broadcasting scheme is close to the fast broadcasting scheme and the buffer requirements of this can be adapt for demanding rate by adjusting the short front part of a video sizes.

A Study on Restitution Activities of Germany's Libraries to Overcome the Past: Jewish Book Collection (과거사 극복을 위한 독일도서관의 도서반환 활동에 관한 연구 - 유대인 장서를 중심으로 -)

  • Germany has started restitution process for most of collections from its occupied countries after World War II which was strongly led by the United Nations. However, this process did not include many of the plundered Jewish collections. In 1989, restitution for the Jewish's properties confiscated by the Nazis became important international issue with success in Jewish material claims against Germany in the U.S and Europe countries after German unification. German libraries has still possessed collections sequestered by the Nazis from 1933 to 1945. With Washington conference on holocaust-era assets in 1998, libraries began to sympathize with restoration of their Jewish confiscated collections. In present, by identifying the provenance of those collections at primary level, German librarians focus on various restitution activities for those collections in order to introspect and overcome their past. Specifically, the libraries publish the practical guidebook of studies on the provenance identification and open the database for the pillaged collections to the public. Few libraries start to restore the collections, but the numbers of the restituted collections are still insignificant.

  • Nodes communicate through wireless channels under peer-to-peer level in ad-hoc mobile networks. The nodes are free to move around in a geographical area and are loose]y bounded by the transmission range of the wireless channels. Also, a node is completely free to move around, there is no fixed final topology. Hence, to manage the inter-node communication and data exchange among them a leader node is required. In this paper we introduce an efficient leader election algorithm for mobile ad hoc networks where inter-node communication is allowed only among the neighboring nodes. Furthermore we present the result of performance evaluation through simulation. The algorithm is efficient and practical since it uses least amount of wireless resources and does not affect the movement of the nodes.

  • In order to achieve competitive business goals, every enterprise needs to evaluate the current level of IS(information systems) performance and their utilization. The evaluation is to measure technical capacity and operational capability of enterprise information systems and to diagnose their effectiveness of business goals and efficiency of resources. Furthermore, organizations need to apply information technology(IT) proactively instead of reactively. However. it is usually very difficult for an enterprise to accumulate knowledge acquired during construction of the information systems and apply it to maintain and evaluate them. Also. most researches regarding evaluation are limited in some parts of evaluation fields, the most prominent being lack of the entire views and integrated relationships of enterprise activities. This dissertation develops an integrated evaluation system, which is based on the continuous improvement model of information systems performance. that effectively measures the level of enterprise information systems performance. enabling enterprises to achieve their goals of information systems and related business strategies. The contents of this work are composed of the continuous improvement model of information systems performance, an integrated evaluation system for IS performance and case study.

2D Numerical Simulations for Shallow-water Flows over a Side Weir (측면 위어를 넘나드는 천수 흐름에 대한 2차원 수치모의)

  • It was reviewed for the 2D numerical simulations to evaluate the effects of flood control by detention basin, even if stage-discharge relationships for the side weir were not known. A 2D depth-integrated numerical model was constructed by the application of the finite volume method to the shallow water equations as a numerical method and the introduction of an approximate Riemann solver for the accurate calculation of fluxes. Results by the model were compared with those by the laboratory test for the cases of free overflow and submerged flow over a side weir between the channel and storage. The difference between simulated and measured discharge coefficients for the case of free overflow is very small. In addition, the results by simulations were in good agreement with those by experiments for the submerged flow over a side weir and its mechanism was reproduced well. Through this study the discharge coefficients of side weirs can be accurately determined by the 2D numerical model and a considerable degree of accuracy can be achieved to evaluate the effect of flood defenses by detention basins. Thus, it will be expected to apply this model practically to the plan of detention basins, the evaluation of design alternatives, or the management of the existing ones.

  • Accounting is a practical study as a fundamental of a corporate management. In recent years, the necessity of 'Engineering Accounting' and 'Accounting and Society' for non management and accounting major is on the rise. To accelerate the learning effect of accounting, the individual learning and learning by repetition is required. And ERP practice is on the rise as a new trend. The e-learning will be helpful to the individual learning and learning by repetition. The learner study repeatedly and individually by e-learning, and then practice the accounting process by ERP practice. It's also adoptable for Engineering Accounting to use repeated and individual study using e-learning and ERP practice. This paper is focused on the case study of Engineering Accounting using e-learning and ERP practice in Korea University of Technology and Education. To review this case, the development direction of the accounting education and engineering accounting education will be introduced.

Methods to Design Provided, Required and Customize Interfaces of Software Components (소프트웨어 컴포넌트의 Provided, Required와 Customize인터페이스 설계 기법)

  • Component-based Development is gaining a wide acceptance as an economical software development paradigm to develop applications by utilizing reusable software components. Well-defined interface manages coupling and cohesion between components, minimizes the effect on the user in case of component evolvement, and enhances reusability, extendibility and maintainability. Therefore, study on systematic development process and design guidelines for component interface has been required since the component has been introduced. In this paper, we propose three types of interfaces based on software architecture layers and functionality types; Provided Interface which provides functionality of a component, Required Interface which specifies required functionality that is provided by other components, and Customize Interface which tailors the component to customer's requirement. In addition, we suggest design criteria for well-designed interface, and systematic process and instructions for designing interface. We firstly cluster operations extracted from use case model and class model to identify Provided interfaces, and design Customize interfaces based on artifacts for variability. We also specify Required interfaces by identifying dependency among interfaces. Proposed interface design method provides traceability, throughout the component interface design. And furthermore, proposed guidelines support practical design for high quality component based on a case study.

A Study on the Applying Improvement Method of Guide for efficient depot level maintenance (효율적인 창정비요소개발을 위한 지침 개선적용 연구)

  • If the development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for maintenance of the end step is conducted systematically and efficiently, the weapon system lifecycle can be postponed and the availability can be improved. DEFense CONdition (DEFCON) is maintained as perfect. Nevertheless, like its importance, the guide for maintaining the depot performance is applied differently for each weapon system. The errors that can result cause additional cost, etc. ILS development at depot level maintenance is different from full scale development. Therefore, this study distinguishes the management and deployment section for the development concept. An additional way to perform an efficient development of depot maintenance element when determining the depot maintenance period were presented. This study examined how the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM), Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), and ILS 11 elements intersect at the depot maintenance sources. An analytical study of concrete adoptable plans was performed. The systematic adoption of a development procedure can make it possible to calculate the adoptable development cost. In addition, it can be helpful for improving the quality level and practical use of work products.
