Physically-based Haptic Rendering of a Deformable Object Using Two Dimensional Visual Information for Teleoperation (원격조작을 위한 이차원 영상정보를 이용한 변형체의 물리적 모델 기반 햅틱 렌더링)

  • This paper presents a physically-based haptic rendering algorithm for a deformable object based on visual information about the intervention between a tool and a real object in a remote place. The physically-based model of a deformable object is created from the mechanical properties of the object and the captured image obtained with a CCD camera. When a slave system exerts manipulation tasks on a deformable object, the reaction force for haptic rendering is computed using boundary element method. Snakes algorithm is used to obtain the geometry information of a deformable object. The proposed haptic rendering algorithm can provide haptic feedback to a user without using a force transducer in a teleoperation system.

  • This paper represents the development of a CLS(Control Loading System) for a target a airplane (KT-1) with mechanical linkage reversible flight control system. The system is composed of mechanical frame, controller, sensing part to measure the force from the stick, driving system generating the reaction forces. The DS1103 DSP(Digital Signal Processor) of the dSpace Corp. was used as the controller. The control algorithm of the CLS and the operational environment including monitoring software and evaluation tools are described. The evaluation of the system was conducted according to the requirement specification. The results of the test were analyzed by comparing with the actual data of the target airplane.

Development of Signal Control Strategy for Oversaturated Intersections Using Wayside Video Equipment (노변영상장비를 활용한 과포화 신호제어전략 개발)

  • The conventional real-time signal control strategy for oversaturated situation generally requires a number of detectors at the intersection in order to identify the queue length at each approach. Also, existing strategy for the spillback has limited effect due to the temporal spillback control which only reduce the green split at the approach. In this study, a signal control system utilizing the imagery information from ITS roadside equipment is developed for operation of oversaturated intersections. The strategy calculates the saturation ratio based on the queue length extracted from ITS RSE, and designs the signal control variables according to the saturation ratio. The signal control strategy is divided into two phases: oversaturated and supersaturated. In oversaturated conditions, timing plan for main approach is optimized by the queue length. In oversaturated conditions where spillback might occur, the signal timing is designed in order to avoid the spillback. To increase field adaptability, the strategy is designed to adjust the split length, all-red-time, and clearance time, and keep the major signal control variables intact. The result of the simulation shows that in oversaturated conditions, the improvement is similar to the real-time signal control system. In case of, oversaturated conditions, however, the effect of the strategy is superior to that of a real-time system.

  • This paper presents the development of a new 6-DOF parallel-kinematic motion simulator. The moving platform is connected to the fixed base by six P-S-U (Prismatic-Spherical-Universal) serial chains. Comparing with the well-known Gough-Stewart platform-type motion simulator, it uses commercialized linear actuators mounted at the fixed base whereas a 6-UPS manipulator uses telescopic linear ones. Therefore, the proposed motion simulator has the advantages of easier fabrication and lower inertia over a 6-UPS counterpart. Furthermore, since most forces acting along the legs are transmitted to the structure of linear actuators, smaller actuation forces are required. The inverse position and Jacobian matrix are analyzed. In order to further increase workspace, inclined arrangement of universal joints is introduced. The optimal design considering workspace and force transmission capability has been performed. The prototype motion simulator and PC-based real-time controller have been developed. Finally, position control experiment on the prototype has been performed.

Real-Time Force Control of Biped Robot to Generate High-Speed Horizontal Motion of Center of Mass (이족 로봇의 무게 중심 수평 위치 고속 이동을 위한 실시간 힘 제어 기법)

  • Generating motion of center of mass for biped robots is a challenging issue since biped robots can easily lose balance due to limited contact area between foot and ground. In this paper, we propose force control method to generate high-speed motion of the center of mass for horizontal direction without losing balancing condition. Contact consistent multi-body dynamics of the robot is used to calculate force for horizontal direction of the center of mass considering balance. The calculated force is applied for acceleration or deceleration of the center of mass to generate high speed motion. The linear inverted pendulum model is used to estimate motion of the center of mass and the estimated motion is used to select either maximum or minimum force to stop at goal position. The proposed method is verified by experiments using 12-DOF torque controlled human sized legged robot.

  • 이족 로봇(A biped robot)의 안정된 보행과 움직임을 구현하기 위해서는 정밀 센서의 접목이 필수 사항이다. 센서의 정보를 종합한 다음 보행 및 움직임에 적용함으로써 로봇은 향상된 독립성과 자율성을 가지게 되고 그로 인해 지능형 로봇에 한층 더 접근할 수 있게된다. 본 논문에서는 이족로봇의 안정된 보행을 위해 기본이 되는 자세 기울어짐을 측정할 수 있는 가속도 센서를 이용한 이족로봇의 제어 방법을 다루고자 한다. 본 논문의 로봇은 소형 R/C servo motor를 사용하여 설계, 제작 하였으며, 하드웨어 시스템은 메인 CPU로 인텔사의 80C296SA50을 사용, 가속도 측정센서로는 Analog Device 사의 Accelerometer ADXL210를 사용하였다. 이와 같이 가속도 센서를 사용한 시스템은 로봇의 자세를 측정, 판단을 가능케 하여 실시간으로 로봇의 자세를 안정되게 보정 할 수 있어 외부의 변화되는 힘에 자율적으로 대처할 수 있다. 이 때문에 더욱 안정된 지능형 이족로봇을 구현할 수 있다.

  • Today is going with the advancement of intelligent transportation systems and traffic environment and helping to provide safe and convenient service through a mobile device work with the popularization of the vehicle black box. The traffic flow by a variety of causes is constantly changing, it is often unable to prepare the driver, depending on external factors can not be controlled by the power of the public, leading to a major accident. The system needs to pass the real-time weather data in the inter-operator to prevent this. The proposed detection algorithm weather information delivered real-time weather information for this paper. The weather condition is detected by using the contrast between the histogram of the motion of the wiper and the clear day algorithm. In general, the wiper is worked in extreme weather conditions that will have a value different contrast due to rain or snow. Situation was considered clear, snowy conditions, such as using it on a rainy situation. First, designated as ROI (Region Of Interest) of the minimum area that can be detected in order to reduce the amount of calculation for the wiper, the wiper, which was detected through the operation of the threshold Thresholding the brightness of the vehicle wiper. In addition, we distinguish the value of each meteorological situation by using contrast. Results was obtained to 80% for the snow conditions, a rainy situation.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate a validity of control signal through a design of Exoskeleton Robot Arm's capable of intelligent recognition as a human arm's motion by using realtime processed data of generated EMG signals. By an intelligent algorithm, the EMG output value of human biceps and triceps muscles contraction can be recognized and used for the control over exoskeleton arm corresponding to human's recognition and judgement. The EMG sensing data of muscles contraction and relaxation are used as the input signal from human's body to operate the Exoskeleton Robot Arm thus copying human arm motion. An intelligent control of Exoskeleton Robot Arm is to design the analog control circuit which processes the input data, and then to manufacture an integrated control board. And then abstracted signal is passed by DSP signal processing, Fuzzy logic algorithm is designed for a accurate prediction of weight or load through the intelligent algorithm, and design an Exoskeleton Robot Arm to express a human's intention.

A Study on the Loop Detector System for Real-Time Traffic Adaptive Signal Control (실시간 교통신호제어를 위한 루프 검지기 체계 연구)

  • This study has determined optimal type, and location of loop detector to measure accurately traffic condition influenced by traffic variation with real time. Optimal type of loop detector for through vehicle at stop bar was determined by confidences of occupancy period, and nonoccupancy period, and so appropriate detector type for application to real time traffic control system has been decided on special loop detector.

    shows types and winding methods of existing detector (num1) and special detector (num 7,8) determined. It is desired that optimal location of through loop detector should be installed within 50cm of stop bar owing to vehicle behavior. And optimal location of loop detector for left turn vehicle is determined by left turn vehicle behavior on stop bar. In the case of install only one loop, it is desirable that within 20cm of stop bar. Both the special loop (1.8 × 4.0m : num 1.7) and existing loop (1.8 × 1.8m : num1) would be suitable. A location standard aspects, while regarding as economic, existing loop (1.8 × 1.8m : num1) would be suitable. A location of the queue detector and the spillback prevention detector considering the link length, the pedestran crossing is be or not and the estimation range of queue. And if the link length is shorter than 250m, locations of queue detector and spillback protect detector must be considered in the respect of queue management.

  • This paper discusses about the development of a visual sensor that can be installed in an automatic mooring device to detect the berthing condition of a vessel. Despite controlling the ship's speed and confirming its location to prevent accidents while berthing a vessel, ship collision occurs at the pier every year, causing great economic and environmental damage. Therefore, it is important to develop a visual system that can quickly obtain the information on the speed and location of the vessel to ensure safety of the berthing vessel. In this study, a visual sensor was developed to observe a ship through an image while berthing, and to properly check the ship's status according to the surrounding environment. To obtain the adequacy of the visual sensor to be developed, the sensor characteristics were analyzed in terms of information provided from the existing sensors, that is, detection range, real-timeness, accuracy, and precision. Based on these analysis data, we developed a 3D visual module that can acquire information on objects in real time by conducting conceptual designs of LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) type 3D visual system, driving mechanism, and position and force controller for motion tilting system. Finally, performance evaluation of the control system and scan speed test were executed, and the effectiveness of the developed system was confirmed through experiments.
