A Study on the Estimation of Mooring Force of the T/S HANBADA (실습선 한바다호의 계류력 추정연구)

  • Recently, interest in smart port systems for linking with autonomous ships is increasing. To build a smart port system, primarily, a system that can automatically moor a vessel is required. To calculate the allowable mooring capacity of the automatic mooring system in a port, the characteristics of the vessel must be considered, and the external force generated from environmental disturbances in the sea must be accurately calculated. Accurately estimating the magnitude of these environmental disturbances is an extremely important factor for designing an automatic mooring system. In this study, the mooring capacity of the HANBADA was estimated according to the port and fishing port design criteria of the Ministry of Ocean and Fisheries. The longitudinal and lateral forces of the mooring force acting on the HANBADA were 18 kN and 248 kN, respectively, under the most extreme ocean conditions (BF 6).

  • T.S. HANBADA will navigate to maintain the adequate distance between own ship and other ships safely for about 17 hours on the about 2 kts. On the above situation, M broadcasting station requires to maintain the distance from 100m to 500m between ships. This paper aims to calculate the minimum safe distance between ships, the distance is assessed by using ES Model which is a quantitative model for evaluating the difficulty of shiphandling. After marine traffic flow simulation, minimum safe distance for HANBADA on the 2kts is about 260m based ES value. On this paper, the result was compared about its distance to the actual navigating distance.

A study on the greenhouse gas emission from ships with training ship HANBADA (실습선 한바다호를 이용한 선박부문 온실가스 배출량 산정에 관한 연구)

  • As the seriousness of the global environment pollution is gaining our attention recently, researches on application of greenhouse gas emission of ship are being carried globally. However domestic study on greenhouse gas emission from ship was not carried out in various fields. In this study, quantitative data which was presented by greenhouse gas emission of training ship HANBADA and greenhouse gas emission was calculated by Tier 1 method based on total fuel consumption and amount of shore power. Actual voyage data for 1year in 2012 was used to analysis the greenhouse gas emission. This study showed how many weight of gases were exhausted per 1 gross tonnage and per 1trainee in the training ship. There is a need of further research to reduce pollutant and to respond to international environment regulation consistently.

간이 선박조종 시뮬레이터 개선에 관한 연구

  • 이 연구는 기 개발한 간이 선박조종 시뮬레이터의 조종성능 개선에 관한 것이다. 선박조종 시뮬레이터에서 모델선박의 조종성 지수는 임의로 정하는 것이 아니라 가능한 모델대상선박의 실제 움직임과 동등하거나 유사하게 설정되어야 한다. 선행연구에서는 이미 발표된 대학교 실습선(한바다호)의 선박조종 실선데이터를 기반으로 모델선박의 조종성 지수를 도출하였으나, 타각이 10°를 초과할 경우 네 종류의 실선시험 결과와 평균 17.9%의 상대오차가 발생하였다. 이에, 타각 10°, 20° 및 35°에서의 한바다호 조종성 지수에 대해 에르미트 보간을 이용하여 3차 다항식을 산출하고, 이를 모델선박에 적용하였다. 그 결과 타각 35° 이내의 전 구간에서 조종성능의 상대오차가 평균 13.7%에서 11.6%로 약 2.1% 개선됨을 확인하였다.

  • This paper is to investigate the minimum safe distance between T/S Hanbada and a group of vessels participating in the event hosted by M broadcasting station who asked T/S Hanbada to keep a distance from $100m{\sim}500m$. The minimum safe distance was assessed by using ES Model which evaluates quantitatively the difficulty of shiphandling, and the simulation of marine traffic flow. As a result the minimum safe distance of T/S Hanbada moving at a speed of 2 knots turns out about 260m and is compared with the actual value.

  • Various turning tests were carried out according to the rudder angle, turning direction, and the speed etc. with the ship's maneuverability measuring system on the training ship HANBADA. After that they were compared with each other on the turning circle, maneuvering performance index and the distance of new course, and then found out that they were satisfied with the IMO maneuvering standards. And the turning circles of port were smaller than those of starboard with all the rudder angles and maneuvering indexes such as K and T were relatively bigger than other vessels. Also, the distance cf new course was measured to $125{\sim}300m$ in case of the new course on $30^{\circ}{\sim}90^{\circ}$. All of these results will be helpful to escape from collision and to alter course on coastal voyage.

  • For navigation safety, navigators have to be familiar with maneuverabilities. When a vessel encounters a danger of collisions and stranding, maneuverability is essential for the safety of ship. It is composed of turning, course change, speed change, etc. In the latter part, maneuverabilities and motion of Training Ship HANBADA are provided by full-scale measurement in the $10^{\circ}/10^{\circ}$ Zig-Zag Test, $20^{\circ}/20^{\circ}$ Zig-Zag Test and Turning Circle Test(Port and Starboard). It aims to provide information on maneuverabilities and motion of Training Ship HANBADA so that the navigators can take proper action to avoid.

  • The training ships of maritime university in Korea are operated in the suitable schedule. However, there is no paper to grasp the education effect of the coastal navigation and ocean-going navigation terms. As the first step of these training education effects, this paper investigates the effect of training terms and provides the basic materials of the efficient training education. This paper used the 6 times test scores based on test book for 3rd officer as the assess method The results are as follows. (1)The higher credits scored in university times, the higher test scores gained in training ship. (2)After ocean-going navigation, the test score was the best.(3) The longer the training period is, the more the difference of individual capacity is.
