Satisfaction with Evaluation Method for Fundamental Nursing Practical Skill Education Through Cell Phone Animation Self-Monitoring and Feedback - Focus on Foley Catheterization - (휴대폰 동영상 자기관찰 및 피드백을 통한 기본간호학 실기 교육평가방법에 관한 만족도 - 정체도뇨관 삽입을 중심으로 -)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify satisfaction with the method of evaluating practical skills in fundamental nursing through cellular phone animation self-monitoring and feedback. Method: The participants were 163 first-year student nurses. Data were collected from October 1 to 5 2007 using a structured questionnaire. Results: The average score for satisfaction was 3.65(${\pm}.69$) and the highest score was for the item, "I was pleased to have the opportunity of relearning by looking back at my behaviors through self monitoring" with 4.05(${\pm}.89$). The average score for dissatisfaction was 3.23(${\pm}.90$) and the highest score was "I memorized only orders according to the checklist" with 3.65(${\pm}.97$). The practical tests method showed a significant difference according to motivation for application to college of nursing (F=3.11, p=.047). There was a significant positive correlation between practical education satisfaction and test method (r=.363, p=.000). Conclusion: These findings show that there is a need to develop strategies to improve practical test methods for student nurses.

기술ㆍ가정교과 의생활 영역에 대한 여고생들의 학습 요구

  • The purpose of this research is to analyse the composition of theories and practical activities in clothing and textiles in Technologyㆍ Home economics textbooks in the 7th National Curriculum and find out learning requirement of students in the area. For this research, a survey was conducted using questionnaires with 280 high school students living in Daegu and the rate of response was 78.9%. The results of this study are as follows. 1. After analysing the curriculum of Practical Arts subject in elementary school and Technology´ Home Economics subject in secondary school, we could find out that more emphasis is put on practical activities in elementary school and high school. On the other hand, theories are considered more important in middle school. 2. Students have similar preference both for theories and for practical activities as a way of learning in class and show positive responses to practical activities unless they´re giving too much pressure as a part of performance test. 3. According to their learning requirement. several teaching-learning contents in clothing and textiles in Technology Home economics are selected such as materials,. clothes designs, how to set dressed well, how to make a reasonable purchase on clothes, and the process of manufacturing various clothes, etc. Therefore it would be desirable to provide the students with the learning opportunity to the extent where even the students who haven´t chosen the selected-advanced course can take part in class actively.

  • Recently, Internet solution market is focused on competition in Electronic Commerce (EC) rather than necessity and effectiveness of EC. In this paper, we propose a policy-oriented matching agent system that makes EC market active. We can pursue diverse promotion since policies are objects, and we can formulate, carry out, pursue, and evaluated a policy consistently on the proposed solution since our solution is integrated into merits of rule-based system and operation space (release post). There are three important points of the implementation. It is component-based structure that fits to be a basic platform for EC. It is connected with other system easily, so it can help marketing.   • Recently, High-Workable Concrete has been developed and began to be used to a great extent in foreign countries, but it is not familiar with and fully Introduced in Korea yet. Therefore the aim of this paper is to suggest a reference data. for the development of High-Workable Concrete according to the comparative analysis which were done on the effects of mix proportion(water-binder ratio, sand-aggregate ratio, unit water, a kind of superplasticizer) on the flowing characteristics. And also this paper aims to examine the compactability and segregation resistance of High-Workable Concrete in a mock-up test and in a field test. From the result, we concluded that it is possible to produce and to use the High-Workable Concrete at the construction site.

Necessity of measuring the periodontal pocket depth according to dental hygiene studentsin the mock national board examination (일부 치위생(학)과 학생들의 치과위생사 국가고시 실기시험에서의 치주낭 측정 평가 필요성에 관한 연구)

  • Background: This study was aimed at investigating the perception of the requirement of measuring the periodontal pocket depth of the dental hygiene students in the mock national board examination. Methods: SPSS 25.0 (IBM SPSS Statistics) was used to perform the independent t-test for the recognition level of dental hygiene students in the interdisciplinary practical national board examination. A p-value < 0.05 was set to indicate statistical significance. Results: Participants showed a high recognition level for the requirement of measuring the periodontal pocket depth without any difference among disciplines. When periodontal pocket depth measurement was included in the national board examination, the educational and clinical work of dental hygienists was expected to be unified, and the professionalism of dental hygienists was expected to be strengthened. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the feasibility of introducing periodontal pocket depth measurement in the practical national board examination for dental hygienists should be reviewed by a group of experts.

Study on the Present Status of Practicum of Fundamentals of Nursing and Test for Competency of Nursing Skills (기본간호학 실습교육현황과 실기능력 평가방법에 관한 조사)

  • Purpose: In this study the present status of the practicum in Fundamentals of Nursing and test for student competency in nursing skills were surveyed. Method: Participants included 72 nursing schools. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection and SPSS 17.0 for data analysis. Results: Credits for Fundamentals of Nursing, credits for practicum and hours per credit were 2.93, 7.34, and 2.14 respectively. Number of students per practice unit, full time assistants and students per assistant were 28.6, 0.6, and 20.2 respectively. Utilization of CPX room and OSCE room for practice was 5.6%, and 9.7% respectively. Of the school, 32.0% included clinical practice in the practicum. 90.3% provided an open lab but only 48.4% had full-time assistants for these clinical practice areas. Testing for nursing skill competency was performed twice a semester in most schools. Utilization of standard patients and high fidelity models for testing was 8.3%, and 23.6% respectively. The test was thought to be inappropriate in 33.4% of the schools. Conclusions: The results suggest that to improve the outcomes, the practicum for Fundamentals of Nursing needs to be changed to include expansion of facilities and human resources, utilization of standard patients and high fidelity models and development of appropriate test methods.

Development and Application of Instruction Program using 3D Sketching Software for 'Planning for Residential Space' Unit of NCS-based on Interior Design Subject (NCS 실내디자인 과목의 '주거공간 계획하기' 단원에서 3차원 스케치 소프트웨어를 활용한 수업 프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과)

  • In recent years, space planning ability using 3D sketch software is required in the working field of interior design. However, vocational high school do not respond appropriately to changes in the industry, because the class of vocational high school consists of hands-on practical classes and 2D CAD based classes. There is a shortage of 3D sketch software-based instruction programs that can improve students' spatial planning skills. Therefore, this study is to develop instruction program using 3D sketch software for 'Planning for Residential Space' unit of NCS-based on interior design subject and to find out the effect on students' academic achievement by applying to vocational high school class. The 3d sketch software based instructional program developed in this study was developed through four stages of preparation, development, implementation and evaluation according to the PDIE model process. The experimental design model used nonequivalent group posttest-only design in this study. Experiments were conducted on vocational high school students in construction and 9 hours of interior design subjects were applied. After the experiments, students were tested for academic achievement in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas. As a result, the instruction program using the 3d sketch program developed in this study was found to be more effective in improving students' academic achievement than existing manual instruction program in both cognitive, affective, and psychomotor areas.

Analysis of the Importance of Subjects to Improve the Educational Curriculum in the Radiological Science - Focused on Radiological Technologists - (방사선(학)과 교육과정 개선을 위한 교과목 중요도 분석 - 방사선사를 중심으로 -)

  • In this study a group of experts and clinical radiological technologists were surveyed to evaluate the clinical importance of current subjects in the radiological sciences. For the data collection and analysis, an open-ended questionnaire was distributed to the group of experts, and a multiple choice questionnaire was distributed to radiological technologists. Subjects were classified into 9 groups for analysis of the importance of subjects, and in regard to the questionnaire design for measurement of variables, departments and type of hospital were set up as independent variables, and the 9 groups of subjects were set up as dependent variables. As a result, clinical radiological technologists perceived Diagnostic Imaging Technology and practical courses, including general radiography, CT and MRI, as the most clinically necessary subjects, and the group of experts placed most weight on basic courses for the major. The result of this study suggests that the curriculum should be revised in a way that combines theory and practice in order to foster radiological technologists capable of adapting to the rapidly changing healthcare environment.

  • The purpose of this paper is firstly to research the Capstone Design Learning Model which helps the students to acquire practical industrial skills and knowledge in real business fields, and secondly to analyze the qualitative effectiveness of this model in respect of knowledge, skill and attitude which NCS(National Competence Standards) suggest in industrial design field. In order to study, the second-year students taking the class 'Communication and Design Project(CDP)' of Industrial Design Major of DIT, took part in the Capstone Design Project and proceeded a project 'Character design of the entertainer Robert Holley' in cooperation with a relevant company and the professor in charge of this project. Through this research, it appeared that Capstone design related to visual design tasks improved the technical skills and competence of the students majoring in design. In other words, through analyzing questionnaire survey based on NCS, evaluation from relevant company, and awarding a prize of the design contest, we conclude that this instruction design and action plans have significant meanings to promote the students on-the-job competence.

Use of PC Skillreporting system for Improving Quality of Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation in Fire EMT (구급대원의 심폐소생술 질 향상을 위한 PC Skillreporting system 활용방안)

  • PC Skillreporting feedback during cardiopulmonary resuscitaion would improve the performance of chest compression and ventilation during cardiac arrest. BLS skills were measured using Laerdal Skillreporter manikin(Laerdal, Norway) connected to a Laerdal PC Skillreporting system. Ventilation volume, chest compression accuracy, velocity of compression, depth of compression, hand position and chest recoil were measured between the two groups. Ventilation volume was significantly higher in the experimental group than that of control group(p<0.002). Chest compression depth was significantly higher in experimental group than that of control group(p=0.000). The quality of CPR can be improved by the use of PC Skillreporting system.
