Acousto-optical wavelength tunable optical filters in LiNbO$_3$ have been demonstrated using taperd directional weighted coupling acoustic waveguides and Ti double diffusion technique. Conversion efficiency in excess of 61%, 86% and sidelobe intensity of -14.29㏈, -14.99㏈ were measured at a wavelength of 1551.1nm RF frequency of 173.58MHz and RF power of 35㎽ for both TE and TM input polarizations, respectivelv. A spectral width of ~l.8nm and linear tuning late of 8.6nm/MHz were demonstrated. A 2.82$mutextrm{s}$ switching time has been measured. With two channels with 2.5nmseparation, channel cross-talk was lower than -l4㏈ for single wavelength filtering due to sidelobe.

In this paper, we propose a novel sound field reconstruction algorithm using a three dimensional loudspeaker array for providing realistic sound field to multiple listeners. The proposed algorithm is based on minimization of the squared error between the original sound field and the reconstructed sound field by the loudspeaker array over a predefined three dimensional region of the space using a loudspeaker array surrounding the listening area. For evaluating the proposed algorithm, we constructed the three dimensional array composed of 40 loudspeakers and discuss the relevant experiment results.

This research suggests a new tram signal priority model which determines signal timings and tram intersection waiting time using analytical method. This model can calculate the signal timings for Early Green and Green Extension among the active tram signal priority techniques by tram detection time of upstream detector. Moreover, it can determine the tram intersection waiting time that means tram intersection travel time delay from a vantage point of tram travel. Under the active tram signal priority condition, priority phases can bring additional green time from variable green time of non-priority phases. In this study, the signal timing and tram intersection waiting time calculation model was set up using analytical methods. In case studies using an isolated intersection, this study checks tram intersection waiting time ranged 12.7 to 29.4 seconds when variable green times of non-priority phases are 44 to 10 seconds under 120 seconds of cycle length.

This paper is composed of a passenger management system using a temperature sensing module, a PIR sensor module for detecting movement inside a room, and a smart breath sensing module for determining a sleeping state. An embedded sensor module and a communication system integrated the sensing part and the algorithm driving part. As the aging society is accelerating and becoming more upgraded, the social cost of Silver Care increases, and in order to protect privacy, it is necessary to reduce costs by developing efficient smart silver care devices. The proposed non - image human body detection IOT sensor system is implemented by hardware and software and has superior performance compared with conventional image monitoring method.

This paper presents the development of a 10 W solid-state hybrid power amplifier(SSPA). operating over $7.7\sim8.5GHz$. The fabrication and measurement of this amplifier are performed with 3 sections, such as the front one for high gain, the middle one for driving, and high power one, to minimize the risk of failure and to increase the easiness of development. and then the final amplifier is realized by connecting 3 sections above mentioned, DC bias circuit, and temperature compensation circuit on one housing. Total small signal gain obtained is about $45\pm1dB$, the input and output return losses are 25 and 27 dB respectively. The output power measured at 1 dB gain compression point for 3 frequencies at 7.7, 8.1, and 8.5 GHz are $39.8\sim40.4dBm$, which is about 10 W. and the 3rd-order harmonic powers of 2 tones test are 13.34 dBc at output power 37.5 dBm. These obtained results satisfies the initially required specification. and the realized SSPA can be installed as a subsystem of the microwave transponder for telecommunication.

Debates concerning the competitive edge of leading 3DTV technology of the shutter glasses (SG) 3D and the film-type patterned retarder (FPR) are flaring up. Although SG technology enables Full-HD 3D vision, it requires complex systems including the sync transmitter (emitter), the sync processor chip, and the LCD lens in the active shutter glasses. In addition, the transferred sync-signal is easily affected by the external noise and a 3DTV viewer may feel flicker-effect caused by cross-talk of the left and right image. The operating current of the sync processor in the 3DTV active shutter glasses is gradually increasing to compensate the sync reconstruction error. The proposed chip is a low-power hardware sync processor based discrete-event SoC(system on a chip) designed specifically for the 3DTV active shutter glasses. This processor implements the newly designed power-saving techniques targeted for low-power operation in a noisy environment between 3DTV and the active shutter glasses. This design includes a hardware pre-processor based on a universal edge tracer and provides a perfect sync reconstruction based on a floating-point timer to advance the prior commercial 3DTV shutter glasses in terms of their power consumption. These two techniques enable an accurate sync reconstruction in the slow clock frequency of the synchronization timer and reduce the power consumption to less than about a maximum of 20% compared with other major commercial processors. This article describes the system's architecture and the details of the proposed techniques, also identifying the key concepts and functions.
The active sonar transmission system consists of a transmitter that outputs an electrical signal and an underwater acoustic transducer that converts the amplified electrical signal into an acoustic signal. In general, the transmitter output characteristics are dependent on load impedance, and an underwater acoustic transducer, which is a transmitter load, has a characteristic that the electrical impedance varies largely according to frequency when driven. In such a variable impedance condition, the output of the active sonar transmission system may become unstable. Hence, this paper proposes a design and control technique of a sonar transmitter for transmitting a stable transmission signal even under variable impedance conditions of an underwater acoustic transducer in an active sonar transmission system. The electrical impedance characteristics of the underwater acoustic transducer are experimentally analyzed, and the sonar transmitter is composed of a single-phase full-bridge inverter, an LC filter, and a matching circuit. In this paper, the design and output control method of the sonar transmitter is proposed to protect the transmitter and transducer. It can secure stable output voltage characteristics even if it transmits the Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM) signal. The validity is verified through the simulation and the experiment.
In this study, a tactile stimulator was developed to resolve some problems from the previous version of the system such as system configuration, inappropriate stimulation control and additional problems. The developed tactile stimulator consists of control unit, drive unit and vibrator unit. The control unit was controlled by E-Prime software to generate appropriate vibration pulses. The drive unit supplies enough energy to the vibrator to generate effective stimulation pulses. The vibrator unit consists of small coin type vibrator and velcro, and was made to be attached at the hand easily. The developed tactile stimulator was designed by small-size, light-weight, low-power, simple-fabrication, max 35 channels and little delay time from instruction signal of E-Prime software to vibrator. The duration and magnitude of stimulation was controlled by 10 grades and the problems concerning stimulation control were compensated by wideband frequency ranges. Additionally, the electrical safety was ensured by low voltage operation. Vibrator was made to be attached on finger as well as on any part of the subject. Since this tactile stimulator is developed based on E-Prime software which is widely used in cognitive science, it is believed that this stimulator be suitable for the wide application of cognitive science study.

In this paper, the beam steering dipole phased array antenna systems for IMT-2000 base station have been designed. The designed beam steering dipole phased array antenna systems are constituted by the antenna part and the beam steering control system part. The antenna part is designed by the proposed flat dipole for the broadband characteristics, and the 8${\times}$8 dipole array antenna is constructed by the proposed flat dipole for the directional radiation pattern. Besides the vertical power divider is designed for the vertical power distribution. The beam steering control system part is designed the horizontal power divider for the horizontal power distribution, the 4-bit phase shifters and the driving circuit of phase shifters for the horizontal beam tilting. In order to evaluate a performance of the designed antenna systems, they were fabricated and the radiation characteristics were measured. From the measured results, we found that the horizontal beams were tilted by the each control signals, and the measured radiation characteristics showed good agreement with the design goals.

In this paper, we design Input/Output modules as a preference work for implementation of hybrid two stage AWG based WDM-PON and verify operations of each function modules through the logic simulation. This WDM-PON system provides service to 128 ONUs through 32 wavelength and one wavelength is shared for upstream transmission with four ONU while each wavelength is allocated to each ONU for downstream transmission. The designed WDM-PON MAC chip is based on sub-MAC which consists of one control unit and reception unit and four transmission unit. To design the reception and transmission unit of sub-MAC, we define the functions of the sub-MAC, pins of the modules, control signal and timing of each signal. We intend to design MAC chip with 1Gbps transmission rate. Thus the designed MAC chip is worked on 125MHz clock rate. We define FSM and design Input/Output modules with VHDL. The logic simulation of the modules is executed by the ModelSIM simulator.
