During the past decade, interest in and knowledge of eating disorders have increased in the medical, social science, and popular literature. Despite this advance in this field, eating disorders in males have received relatively little attention in the literature. However, in recent years, there has been increased awareness that eating disorders occurs in males, as well as females, although research and theoretical discussions concerning this subgroup still remain scare. In this review, the author highlights the clinical characteristics that distinguish male patients with eating disorders from their female counterparts. The identification of such characteristics will improve diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders in males and may increase our understanding of processes that are specific to eating disorders in both sexes.

Eating disorders are psychiatric disorders characterized by abnormal eating patterns and cognitive distortions related to food, weight and shape, which is in turn result in adverse effects on nutrition status, medical complications, and impaired health status and function. The American Psychiatric Association's DSMIVTR offers two diagnoses to describe disordered eating anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. A third category, eating disorder not otherwise specified(EONOS) include binge eating disorder. The prevalence of eating disorder has greatly increased among adolescence and young adults since 1990's when rapid import of western culture took place. It is likely that patients who ask for weight loss are at high risk of having eating disorder. Severe dietary restriction for weight loss may cause eating disorder. Therefore it is recomendable for doctors to have appropriate understanding and guidelines of eating disorder to help their patients.

This study is intended to investigate if the standard of vocational rehabilitation service could be solely determined by medical standard for disability definement and to find out what alternatives are available to resolve practical problems for those who are not identified as the severely disabled by the disability definement but do experience severe handicaps at work. Through the literature review, the researcher argued that the concept of 'functional limitation' would be a criteria, and thereby applied Modified Barthel Index to measure the degree of functional limitation. In view of researching the relationship among physical impairment, functional limitation, and job status based on 381 cerebral palsied, variables such as the type of cerebral palsy and the part of paralysis, have neither direct nor indirect influence to the job status; however, the pain and the mobility have indirect effects, and the ability of self-management has direct effect on the job status. The researcher concluded that future research about disabilities needs to provide a serious thought on what it is to be defined as 'disabilities', as well as to focus on further research conceptualizing the degree of physical 'functional limitation'.

The ultimate goal of rehabilitation is social integration. Reemployment is, for the disabled workers, the primary source of not only income, but also identity and interaction. Unfortunately, for most disabled workers employment represents only a yet-to-be-fulfilled hope, a close but inaccessible goal, a daily reminder that they are not among the majority. The purpose of this study is to estimate reemployment rate in the industrial injured and to find factors affecting reemployment of disabled workers owing to industrial injury, and to make policy implication for the better industrial injury compensation rehabilitation system. The data were obtained through telephone interview with disabled worker who completed work injury compensation process in 1996-1997. The final sample was consisted of 1,060 respondents. The major findings were that almost lout of 3 disabled worker returned to work, and that the factor affecting reemployment of the disabled workers were severity injury, ADL(activity of Daily Living), the perception of disability severity, controlling for the demographic factors such as sex, age, education, marital status. The results indicated that psychosocial factors as well as physical function had influces on returning to work. The current findings suggests that rehabilitation services and policy aimed at enhancing vocational rehabilitation program and rehabilitation engineering services, and improving psychosocial resources should be considered by rehabilitation professionals and policy makers.

There are many problems for the rural old peoples who to use the rural houses practically with physical and mental disabilities to make use of them because the rural houses have a tendency to look alike the urban houses. Today the rural old peoples are treated distantly by the boundary of national reserved power to make and activate their facilities, the shortness of their economically surplus power and the absence nationally social security system in spite of their physical and mental disabilities. So it is necessary for us to remodel symmetrically their rural houses to fit their physical and mental disabilities to spend comfortable living and to develop structure remodeling programs and space reorganization programs of the rural handicapped old peoples' houses to support independent life to correspond with their physical and mental disabilities.

Nowadays the numbers of the disabled and elderly have been increasing, and the development of adaptive clothing for these people is in demand. The purpose of this study was to give ideas and solutions for the special needs clothing design. The knowledge of medical situation of the individuals with special needs has been examined and factors affecting adaptive clothing were suggested. Twenty-one web sites were investigated and the most practical, functional, fashionable adaptive clothes were suggested by items. Construction and location of openings, number and type of fastenings, and design of garments for comfort and ease of movement were carefully considered in these clothes. Better appearance through improvement of clothing will help these people to believe that they have worth in the sight of others and in their own view of themselves. Disabled and elderly can obtain the quality of life, maintain the dignity, and make the access to the world a little bit easier by solving the particular clothing problems with all these convenient as well fashionable adaptive clothing.

Premenstural dysphoric disorder(PMDD) imposing 4-5% of women is possibly caused by an enhanced responsiveness to the changes of sex steroid hormones and the decrease of serotonin, melatonin and GABA. The common clinical features between PMDD and depression, seasonal affective disorder, panic disorder and anorexia nervosa suggest a relatedness between PMDD and each of them. The diagnostic criteria of DSM-IV-Tr for PMDD requires psychological symptoms, that commonly include irritability, anger, depression, mood swing, affect lability, tension, anxiety, fatigue and food craving. As of today, the best pharmacological treatment for PMDD is the selective serotonin reuptake inhibiter, and leuprolide, danazol, estradiol, spironolactone and bromocriptine are possible alternatives. Nonpharmacological treatments for patients with mild to moderate symptom severity are diet, exercise, light therapy, psychotherapy and keeping a diary.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of exercise intervention applying various devices to increase the physical activity of the disabled, and to suggest the exercise intervention using converged devices that meet the needs of the times due to the increase of elderly people with disabilities. Exercise intervention using converged devices applicable to the disabled is divided into two types: first, exercise intervention using virtual reality-based gamification, and second, exercise intervention based on wearable devices of wearable or body-attached such as bands and watches. For exercise intervention using converged devices that can be enjoyed by the elderly with disability, minimize of environmental limitations, and easy to personalize, there is a need for configuration requirements such as easy operation and simple rules of operation, easy device installation and wearing, a trainer who can complement immature device utilization. In order to maintain and improve the daily living performance of the elderly with disabilities who experience a significant decrease in their cognitive and physical functions, it is necessary to use a physical activity game that can be experienced and can be interested in everyday life or a variety of devices to increase the amount of physical activity.

전맹인 시각장애인을 비롯해 신체적이거나 정신적인 장애로 인해 표준적인 포맷의 인쇄된 정보에 접근할 수 없는 독서장애인에게 전자책의 등장은 새로운 가능성을 열어주었으나, 여전히 장애인들의 정보접근성은 비장애인에 비해 현저히 낮다. 웹의 경우 플랫폼별, 웹 브라우저별로 장애인 접근성 향상을 위한 다양한 연구와 노력 및 개선이 지속되고 있지만, 전자출판 분야에서의 장애인 독서 접근성에 관한 연구와 개선은 미흡한 현실이다. 독서장애인들의 출판물 접근성을 비장애인들과 유사한 수준으로 높이기 위한 국내외 관련 연구사례를 살펴보고, 독서장애인의 지식정보격차를 해소하기 위해 향후 전자출판이 나아가야 할 방향에 대해 알아본다.
