Comparative Analysis of Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Depressive Disorder between Health and Non-Health related Majors (보건계열과 비보건계열 학생의 신체이형장애와 자가우울에 대한 비교분석)

  • A body dysmorphic disorder refers to a state that individuals whose external appearance is normal consider their appearance to be meta-morphosed, or think there's something wrong with it, or view a trifle deficiency as severely disfigured. The purpose of this study was to examine the body dysmorphic disorder and depression of health-related and health-unrelated majors in an effort to compare the two groups. And it's also meant to investigate the relationship between body dysmorphic disorder and depression. The subjects in this study were 400 students at K college located in Gangwon Province. Out of them, the major of the 200 students belonged to the health science track, and that of the 200 students didn't. After a self-administered survey was conducted, the answer sheets from 319 respondents were analyzed. As a result, there appeared no differences between the health-related majors and the health-unrelated majors in body dysmorphic disorder. Although there might be various factors to concern body dysmorphic disorder, both groups found themselves to suffer from more depression when they had a severer body dysmorphic disorder, and their body dysmorphic disorder exerted a statistically significant influence on their self-rated depression. Therefore the careful management of body dysmorphic disorder was required, and it's especially needed to make research in that of health-related majors. At the same time, more detailed clinical research efforts should be directed into body dysmorphic disorder and self-rated depression.

  • In the recent past, the impression expressed by a human body expanded from that of aesthetic beauty to deformed organic medium influenced by environment. And the advancement in digital technology had made it possible to represent the deformed and distorted images of human body more realistically. Consequentially, these exaggerated physical images leave audiences with a feeling of grotesqueness. Chris Cunningham is a British director who mainly focuses on grotesque body as his subject matter using digital media. This paper will explore Chris Cunningham's work and his final goal through analyzing his carnivorous, uncanny grotesque body images, making use of the figital media, at each of his different levels.

  • 인지능력 손상으로 인해 치매환자의 정상 언어 사용은 점차 감소되고 좌절감과 스트레스는 상승된다. 신체접촉은 비언어적 의사소통의 한 형태로서 치매환자를 지지하고 스트레스 상황에서 겪는 불안을 완화한다. Hollinger와 Buschmann은 1993년 신체 접촉 모형을 개발하였으며, 그 모형을 적용하여 신체접촉 인지도와 우울과의 관계와 신체 접촉의 우울증감소 효과를 정상 노인과 우울증 노인을 대상으로 연구했다. 그러나, 모형을 치매환자 연구에 적용시켜 검토한 연구는 언다. 본 연구의 목적은 신체 접촉 모형을 비평 분석하는 것이다. 또한, 분석을 기초로 하여 모형을 치매 환자 연구에 적용하도록 변형시켰다. 치매 환자의 인지, 언어 능력은 손상되었지만, 환경에 반응하는 감정과 접촉 감각은 유지되고 있다는 것은 신체 접촉 모형을 치매환자에게 적용할 때 반드시 고려해야 할 점이다. 개인의 문화 차이는 신체 접촉에 대한 인지와 반응에 영향을 준다. 따라서, 연구대상자 선택시 대상자가 신체 접촉을 긍정적으로 받아들이고 있는지를 확인해야 할 것이다. 대상자는 인지 능력 손상으로 면담이나 질문지에 적당히 반응할 수 없으므로 연구시 관찰 방법의 이용을 제언한다.

Surgical Decision for Elderly Spine Deformity Patient (노인 척추 변형 환자의 수술적 결정)

  • Globally, the elderly population is increasing rapidly, which means that the number of deformity correction operations for elderly spine deformity patient has increased. On the other hand, for aged patients with deformity correction operation, preoperative considerations to reduce the complications and predict a good clinical outcome are not completely understood. First, medical comorbidity needs to be evaluated preoperatively with the Cumulative Illness Rating Scale for Geriatrics or the Charlson Comorbidity Index scores. Medical comorbidities are associated with the postoperative complication rate. Managing these comorbidities preoperatively decreases the complications after a spine deformity correction operation. Second, bone densitometry need to be checked for osteoporosis. Many surgical techniques have been introduced to prevent the complications associated with posterior instrumentation for osteoporosis patients. The preoperative use of an osteogenesis inducing agent - teriparatide was also reported to reduce the complication rate. Third, total body sagittal alignment need to be considered. Many elderly spine deformity patients accompanied degenerative changes and deformities at their lower extremities. In addition, a compensation mechanism induces the deformed posture of the lower extremities. Recently, some authors introduced a parameter including total body sagittal alignment, which can predict the clinical outcome better than previous parameters limited to the spine or pelvis. As a result, total body sagittal alignment needs to be considered for elderly spine deformity patients after a deformity correction operation. In conclusion, for elderly spine deformity patients, medical comorbidities and osteoporosis need to be evaluated and managed preoperatively to reduce the complication rate. In addition, total body sagittal alignment needs to be considered, which is associated with better clinical outcomes than the previous parameters limited to the spine or pelvis.

  • Grotesque, which has often emerged as a breakthrough in Western art to protest rational and classical pure beauty, is often seen in modern art. Grotesque, along with the concept of pendulum, appears in infinitely expanded forms across cultures, arts, and society. In particular, transformed body images through deformatization and deformatization of the body are interpreted as strong rejections that seek to break away from formalized beauty. The main purpose of this study is how the body reproduced through body deformation, distortion, and bonding in Dimitris Papaioannou's work can be interpreted within the grotesque category. To this end, he examines the Grotesque discourse and modern meaning underlying the interpretation of the work and identifies how the fragmented and expanding body, which is currently actively discussed in the dance world, has an interaction with Grotesque. It selects , , , and , which are the main attributes of the grotesque, focus on conflicting familiarity, life, hatred, and beauty. Based on this, we would like to confirm that in contemporary dance, the reconstructed body reveals concealed things rather than expressing an unrealistic fictional world, and seeks new possibilities beyond boundaries as well as reconsider existing aesthetic views.

  • 기하학적 모델에 변형을 주는 것은 매우 시간을 소모한다. 따라서, 분싱이 동작 할 때 신체의 각부위에 대한 자연스러운 모델 변형을 실시간으로 수행한다는 것은 어려운 일이다. 따라서, 분신에 대한 일반적인 모델변형은 어렵지만, 모델 변형이 관절에서만 일어나는 것으로 제한한다면 일어나는 모델 변형은 매우 단순해진다. 즉, 하나의 축을 중심으로 휘기만 하는 단순한 방법으로도 척추를 포함한 모든 관절의 모델변형을 충분히 만족시키는데, 이러한 단순한 모델 변형은 매우 간단한 연산을 제공하여 실시간으로 모든 관절의 모델변형을 수행하는 것을 가능하게 한다. 이러한 모델변형은 사이버 글러브와 같은 가상현실용 인터페이스를 실험할 때 가상의 손모델에 적용되어 보다 사실감을 높이게 할 수 있다.

A Study on School Uniform Reforming Behavior in Relation to Body Image:In the Case of High School Girls (신체이미지와 교복변형행동 연구: 여고생을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether uniform reforming behavior in high school girls is related to body image distortion, and to obtain objective data to help in guiding students in the wearing of uniforms at school. 661 freshmen and junior girls at six high schools in Kwangju city responded to questionnaires. The data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA and Pearson’s product-moment correlations using the SPSS 12.0 program. According to their body satisfaction level, three groups (haggard distortion, normal, overweight distortion) were identified. The data showed that a few high school girls were unable to recognize their body types correctly. It also indicated that school uniform reforming behaviors in high school girls were not related to their body image or body satisfaction level. So, it seems that students need guidance in the building up of an objective body image and wearing uniforms to fit their body types.

  • 기존의 생체인식 기술들은 노화에 따른 신체부위의 변형으로 인해 인식률 저하를 초래할 수 있으며 인식단계 시 눈과 같은 신체의 민감한 부분을 빛에 노출시키는 등의 불쾌감을 이용자에게 초래할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 생체인식 시스템이 갖는 이러한 문제들을 보완하기 위해 손가락 정맥영상을 이용한 생체인식 시스템을 제안한다. 손가락 정맥의 경우 인식 절차가 단순하면서도 개인마다 고유한 특징을 충분히 포함하고 있다. 또한 인체 내부에 존재하는 특징으로 인해 외상이나 노화로 인한 변형의 가능성이 적으며 촬영 시 이용자의 거부감이나 불쾌감을 최소화 할 수 있다.

  • 모션 캡쳐 결과 데이터와 연속 이미지로부터 구현하고자 하는 가장 큰 목적은 바로 이미 적용된 데이터가 있다면 그 데이터를 다른 모든 신체 동작에 적용하는 것이다. 본 연구는 신체 동작을 응용하여 추적된 자료를 토대로 인간의 자연스러운 움직임을 구현할 수 있도록 인체 동작의 움직임에 대한 데이터 제어 방법과 영상분석을 통하여 그에 대응하는 다른 동작을 생성할 수 있는 재사용 방법과 시스템을 개발하는 것이 목적이다. 이와 같은 시스템을 달성하기 위해 신체 동작의 제어를 위해서는 외국의 선행 연구를 도입하여, 신체 동작의 움직임에 대한 제스춰 성분 요소와 그것의 조합을 표상할 수 있는 제스춰를 연결하는 모형들에 근거하여 입력 영사에서 얻은 제스춰를 다른 d사한 동작에 사용하기 위한 합성하는 기술의 개발이 필요하다. 향후의 이러한 연구를 통해 획득한 인체 동작에 관한 것을 데이터베이스화하여 이것을 활용하고 또한 동작제어기술과 합성을 통하여 가상공간에서 사람의 동작행위를 대신할 수 있는 수준으로 확장할 수 있다.

  • This paper analyzed the body images of the posthuman characters in digital games and the nomadic subjects formed through gameplay. Nomadic Subject is the subject with a complex and non-single identity that appears as a posthuman identity. The player experiences posthuman subject directly in the process of controlling characters. Body images of posthuman characters are categorized into three types that imitate idealized bodies, deform the bodies through articulation, and extend the bodies through equipment. The player builds ethical identity by making choices under the constraints of the game.
