Classification of Herbs in Vegetable Part, Pen-tsao-kang-mu(Bon-cho-kang-mok) (본초강목(本草綱目) 채부(菜部)에 수재된 본초(本草)의 분류(分類))

  • Pen-tsao-kang-mu(Bon-cho-kang-mok), chinese medicinal plant book, was written by Lee sijin(1578), China. The subject of this study were 158 articles of vegetable part in Pen-tsao-kang-mu. Among them only 139 articles were able to be identified by authority of several references. By Engler's system they were classified into 8 divisions, 10 classes, 6 subclasses, 31 orders, 22 suborders, 52 families, 85 genera, 99 species, 12 varieties and 2 forma, and were confirmed 113 kinds of original plants. Among the divisions, Angiospermae was the most numerous division with 92 kinds(80.70%) and the second division was Fungi with 12 kinds(10.53%). The next was Rhodophyta with 4(3.51%) kinds. Other 19 articles were unable to be classified because of their ambiguous name.

  • Pen-tsao-kang-mu(Bon-cho-kang-mok), chinese medicinal plant book, was written by Si-jin Lee, 1578, China. The subject of this study were 210 articles of grain part in Pen-tsao-kang-mu. Among them only 193 articles were able to be identified by authority of several references. By Engler's system they were classified into 4 divisions, 5 classes, 3 subclasses, 28 orders, 17 suborders, 46 families, 95 genera, 100 species, 11 varieties and 1 form, and were confirmed 112 kinds of original plants. Among the divisions, angiospermae was the most numerous division with 107 kinds(91.98%) and the second division was gymnospermae with 3 kinds(2.70%). The next were phaeophyta and fungi with 1 kind(0.90%) on each. Other 17 articles were unable to be classified because of their ambiguous name.

Discrimination of Angelicae Radix Based on Anatomical Characters (당귀의 해부형태학적 특징에 따른 기원판별)

  • For discrimination the origins and the commercial herb medicines of three Angelicae Radixes (Danggui), anatomical characters of leaves, petioles, and root cross-section were investigated and those were compared each other. The key for discrimination of these herb medicines was made by below simple characters: development of periderm, absent and present of collenchyma under the periderm, and distribution of latex tube in cortex. The result of discrimination for the commercial herb medicines based on the discrimination key, Angelicae gjgantis Radix (Angelica Gigas Root), Angelicae Radix (Japanese Angelica Root), and Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui) were correctly identified for Angelica gigas Nakai, A acutiloba Kitagawa, and Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels., respectively. Consequently, anatomical characters could be utilized for useful method to discriminate three Angelicae Radixes (Danggui).

  • 유전공학기법으로 산삼이나 가시오갈피 등 약재를 대량 생산할 수 있는 새로운 기술을 개발하고 있는 (주)마이크로프랜츠는 주목받는 벤처기업이다. 전주에 있는 이 기업은 생약제재의 종자에서 분리한 세포를 액체 배지에서 배양한 다음 증식된 세포들을 체세포배 발생 과정을 거친 결과 뿌리와 잎을 갖춘 유식물체(싹이 튼 식물체)를 얻는데 성공했다. 이러한 조직배양 방법은 완전 무공해 약재를 생산할 수 있고 6년 걸리는 자연재배를 3개월이며 생산할 수 있는 장점을 지니고 있다.

  • The purpose of this study was carried out to investigate medicinal resources herb plants that using through the ages in Korea among the spontaneous and naturalized flavor or frangrant plants and to discuss some way of utilizations of their products to promote human health. Another goal of this study was to collect and systematically synthesize those materials connected with fragrant medicinal plants to serve useful informations on this problems for following researchers. The major findings of this study were as follows ; In Korea, many species of fragrant plants were used for medicinal purpose through the ages. And most of the everyday`s common drugs in Korea's traditional medicine were contained fragrant resources plants as major medicinal material. Therefore, We can find that mast of the fragrant resources plants are very excellent material for traditional medicinal use. At the same time, we should reveal to fragrant material's activity for human health and to investigate the effect of aromatherapy in the future.
