A Double Z-buffer Antialiasing Method for Voxelized Implicit Surfaces (복셀로 표현된 임플리시트 곡면을 위한 시프트(shifted) 더블 Z-버퍼 앤티 앨리어싱)

  • This paper aims at presenting high quality at low resolution apply by a new antialiasing method for voxelized implicit surfaces. Implicit surfaces create a unique type of 3D-modeling. Some use of implicit surfaces are scientific and medical visualization, animation, medical simulation and interactive modeling. One of previous antialiasing methods for implicit surfaces presented by raytracing or texture mapping is making use of a stochastic sampling. But this method requires more calculation time and costs which is caused by complicated and difficult implicit functions. In the meanwhile, voxelized implicit surfaces generally use high resolution for good quality images but it costs to generate. In order to this problem, this paper suggests a shifted double Z-buffer which is very simple, more efficient and easy. Tn addition, there are applied box-filter and tent-filter to the double Z-buffer antialiasing method for better images. For results this method generate high quality image and it is easy to apply to various filters and is able to extend to multi Z-buffer.

A study on the effect of V-ring position on die roll height in the fine blanking for automobile seat recliner gear (자동차 시트 리클라이너 기어의 파인 블랭킹 성형에서 V-링 설치 위치가 다이롤 높이에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차 시트 리클라이너 기어의 파인 블랭킹 성형 실험을 통하여 V-링 설치 위치에 따른 기어의 다이 롤 높이 변화를 검토하였다. 3 종류의 다이 편과 가이드 플레이트 편을 설계하여 파인 블랭킹 금형을 제작하였으며 650 ton 파인블랭킹 프레스에서 성형 실험을 수행하였다. 실험으로부터 제품을 취출하여 다이 롤 높이를 측정하여 분석한 결과 기어 모듈과 관계없이 V-링 설치 위치가 가이드 플레이트에서 멀어짐에 따라 다이 롤 높이가 증가함을 파악할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 향후 파인 블랭킹 금형의 V-링을 설계할 때 다이 롤 높이를 최소화하기 위하여 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • It was well recognized that damages associated mainly with the aging of civil infrastructrues were one of very serious problems for assurance of safety and reliability. In recent, carbon fiber sheet(CFS) has been widely used for reinforcement and rehabitation of damaged concrete beam. However, the fundamental mechanism of load transfer and its load-resistant for carbon fiber sheet reinforced concrete are not fully understood. In this study, three point bend test has been carried out to understand the damage progress and micro-failure mechanism of CFS reinforced concretes. For these purposes, four kinds of specimens are used, that is, concrete, respectively. Acoustic Emission(AE) technique was used to evaluate the characteristics of damage progress and failure mechanism of specimens. In addititon, two-dimensional AE source location was also performed to monitor crack initiation and propagation processes for four types of these specimens.

  • This paper aims at reducing aliasing in pixel-based rendering for 3D implicit surfaces by shifted multi Z-buffers. The voxelized implicit surfaces with high resolution take so much time in generating high Quality image without aliasing. So in rendering a voxelized implicit surfaces, a new antialiasing method which can generate a high quality image at a lower resolution is required. Therefore, this paper suggests that a method which get various sampling values by shifting several z-buffers in each voxel and average them, The advantages are effective memory, simple calculation and easy convergence with various filters. But, the increase of number of z-buffer also increase the consuming time rapidly. Therefore, the research for representing the relation the degree of image quality with the consumption of time as a number is required.

  • In this paper, we propose a system for controlling the seat of the electric wheelchair depending on the slope of the terrain in real time by using the ATmega smart control based on the board. Smart control board includes a gyro sensor, an acceleration sensor and Tilt sensor, when the electric wheelchairs pass slope of the terrain, they use three sensors to identify terrain configuration in real time. We also applied the Complementary Filter in the gyro sensor and acceleration sensor, so the electric wheelchairs know the exact terrain by solving the interference during the movement. Based on this, the noise power wheelchair due to the movement will be reduced, the seat continues reliably movement without being vibration. In this paper, providing an application on the smart phone platform for the convenience of users who are not familiar with how to use electric wheelchairs, they can easily control wheelchairs. Control platform of the smart phone is able to monitor the electric wheelchair in real-time, with regard to pressure prevention, help the slope of the seat to be arbitrarily controlled.

Self-Diagnosis for Fracture Prediction of Concrete Reinforced by New Type Rib CFGFRP Rod and CF Sheet (신형 리브재 CFGFRP 보강근 및 CF 보강시트로 보강된 콘크리트의 파괴예측 자가진단)

  • For investigating self-diagnosis applicability, a method based on monitoring the changes in the electrical resistance of carbon fiber reinforced concrete has been tested. Then after examining change in the value of electrical resistance at each flexural weight-stage of carbon fiber in CFGFRP (carbon fiber and glass fiber reinforcing plastic) with new type rib and carbon sheet for concrete reinforcing, the correlations of electrical resistance and load as a function of strain, deflection were analyzed. As the results, it is clarified that when carbon fiber rod, rib and sheet fracture, the electrical resistance of it increase largely, and specially in case of CFGFRP, afterwards glass fiber tows can be resist the load due to the presence of the hybrid (carbon and glass) reinforced fiber. Therefore, it can be recognized that reinforcing bar and new type rib of CFGFRP and sheet of CF could be applied for self-diagnosis of fracture in reinforced FRP concrete.

Insulation Effect of Double Layered Bubble Sheet Application in Cold Weather Concrete and Initial Quality Control by Wireless Sensor Network (한중시공에서 2중 버블시트 포설에 따른 단열 효과분석 및 무선센서 네트워크에 의한 초기 품질관리)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of the application of double layered bubble sheet on the curing of slab and wall concrete placed at the job site in cold weather and to offer a feasibility of Concrete IoT Management System(CIMS), which is wireless sensor network developed by the authors, to manage early age quality of the concrete in terms of temperature, maturity and strength development. Test results indicated that the application of bubble sheet enhances the insulation performance, which results in an increase of the temperature by around 1~20. 6℃. It is found that CIMS can gather the temperature, maturity and strength development data from the sensors embedded from 30 m far from CIMS successfully. Predicted compressive strengths by CIMS had good agreement with measured ones within 2 MPa error level until 7 days. It is thought that the combination of the bubble sheet application for cold weather protection and CIMS for quality management tool in cold weather concreting contributes to shorten the time for the form removal by one day.

  • Two-dimensional explicit finite element code was developed. The transient dynamics code can analyse large deformations of non-linear materials subjected to extremely high strain rates. The Lagrangian finite element program uses an explicit time integration operator to integrate the equations of motion, thus the stiffness matrix is not introduced. Cylinder upsetting and ring compression problems are simulated to check the effects of friction and inertia force. It is shown that (1) calculated results agree very well with experimental results, (2) constant shear friction method overestimates the decrease of inner ring radius and then underestimates after on in comparison with the Coulomb friction method, and (3) the effect of the increase in initial strain rate is similar to the effect of higher frictional coefficient.

Study of Smart Vehicle Seat for Real-time Driver Posture Monitoring (운전자 자세 실시간 모니터링이 가능한 스마트 자동차 시트 연구)

  • In recent years, the increasing interest in health-care requires the industrial products to be well-designed ergonomically. In the commercial vehicle industry, several researchers have demonstrated the driver's posture has great effect on the orthopedic desease such as fatigue, back pain, scoliosis, and so on. However, the existing sensor systems developed for measuring the driver posture in real time have suffered from inaccuracy and low reliability issues. Here, we suggest our smart vehicle seat system capable of real-time driver posture monitoring by using the air bag sensor package with high sensitivity and reliability. The ergonomic numerical model which can evaluate a driver's posture has been developed on the basis of the human body segmentation method followed by simulation-based validation. Our experimental analysis of obtained pressure distribution of a vehicle seat under the different driver's postures revealed our smart vehicle system successfully achieved the driver's real-time posture data in great agreement with our numerical model.
