Due to the of evolution of digital technology, trends are moving toward personalization and customization in design (art), media, science. Existing mass media has been broadcasting to the general public due to technical and economic limitation and art works also communicate one-sidedly with spectators in the gallery or stage. But nowaday, it is possible for spectators to participate directly. We can make different products depending on the tastes of individuals who demand media or art. The essence of technology which makes it possible is 'interactive technology'. A goal of this research is to find out the true nature of the interactive design in multimedia contents and find the course of interactive communication design research. In this paper, we pass through two stages to solve this kind of problem. At first, we studied the concept of multimedia contents from the aspect of information revolution. Next, we decided our research topic to be 'visual reacting with audio' and made audio-visual art work as graphic designers. Through this research we can find the possibility to promote 'communication' in a broad sense, with appropriate interactive design.

As the times change, the way of enjoying art and the needs of viewers are diversifying, and the filmization of novels that visualize existing works has become a popular genre across the ages. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of providing implications for movie works based on novel works by considering the filmization of novels. However, while there are successful works, works that have been filmized without properly understanding the artist's intention or narrative fail in the box office. In this study, focusing on Lim Woo-sung's . The film did not give a clear answer to the important contents of the novel, "The Violence of Young Hye," and what the meaning of "Flower" means to Young Hye. Because of this, Yeong-hye in the film was portrayed only as a victim of violence pursuing a blind artistic desire, but rather a sensational element. Therefore, it suggested that the filmization of novels is needed in the future to make films work as a medium that can add depth of enjoyment by utilizing the media characteristics of films.

Viewers have always switched channels and they have selected by turning away from the TV and returning to the set when the content seemed more amusing. Also, people usually watch television with their family members and thus the experience of viewing is embedded uniquely in ongoing processes of family interaction. In other words, people develop patterns and habits through the act of viewing together. As viewing with family members is the most frequent mode of media exposure, the context of family viewing needs to be thoroughly examined if we are to understand the family's use of television. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the dynamic nature of television viewing behavior. With the people meter's second-by-second viewing information, first we analyze who, when, and why viewers change channels. The ensuing reduction of advertising impact due to zapping will be investigated as well. Then the focus will be shifted to the dynamic interaction of coviewing among family members. In order to further explore the in-depth nature of television viewing, actual viewing information should be cross-analyzed with respect to both demographic and psychographic variables. In this study we surveyed individual characteristics such as television watching patterns, program type preference, attitude toward commercials, channel control intensity, and personalities. We have demonstrated that the results of an meticulus analysis of survey data provide valuable insights into the dynamics of television viewing among family members.

A DMB in an ubiquitous age means that every one can share informations anytime anywhere through 'his own TV' or 'TV in his own hands'. A DMB of digital broadcastings makes the most use of informations through ubiquitous. But it has several problems just owing to retransferring existing broadcast programs in contents. So hereafter, DMB broadcasting must be produced with contents suiting its properties. After all, it is important to analyze exactly properties and service fields of medium of DMB to make an establish production direction of its contents. This paper analyzes such properties and presents overall image-contents production direction. This includes appropriate program developments and visual expressions through proper running time, camera angle and walking. The contents harmonized with its properties will give more familiarities to DMB users and it will be a new culture. In the end, it is expected that a share of DMB audience will be more higher.

In order to make 3-D display technique a better tool to provide viewers with realistic stereoscopic experience, various researches have been done in the many relevant fields. This psychophysical study was designed to investigate whether there was any difference in the perceptual processing between a dominant and non-dominant eye when a 3-D cue was provided exclusively to only one eye. We measured the reaction time for detecting a depth change by providing the viewer's each eyes with differential 3-D stimuli, which have systematical patterns. We obtained that there was a consistent 3-D perceptual performance when the 3-D cue was provided to the viewers' left eye regardless of their eye dominance. The result suggests that it might be a better technique to arrange the camera for left eye to carry 3-D cues to get the viewer's consistent 3-D perception.

What made stand out among these police procedurals was its focus on the importance of history to understand both the past and contemporary society and culture. Many of the cases involve aspects of history that are not part of mainstream narratives and constitute the unfinished business of America. The flashback sequences throughout the show visually and affectively transport the viewer back to an earlier historical moment. What all the victims have in common is that they refused to be silent or passive in the face of circumstances they believed were wrong, or they refused to conform to dehumanising and destructive social and cultural expectation. Those promoting these lies have the power to establish their version as the power to establish their version as the "truth" of what happened in context, but viewers are positioned to see the truth as the victims experienced it and to identify with them and against the power abusers. The Cold Case detectives pursue the ghosts of American history, restoring to our view stories of lives and experiences rendered invisible and unspeakable by dominant forms of knowledge and power. The series invites viewrs to empathize with the victim and to develop an ethical commitment to social justice in the future.

With the growth of media platforms and fierce competition in the media market, there have been focus on cross media storytelling, a remediation of content already proven successful to another type of medium. In particular, webtoons have emerged as being successful source media, and this study analyzes how the webtoon 's narrative is expanded and transformed in the remediation process into TV drama. The results showed that, the webtoon , which was targeted at a relatively more specific audience, objectively described stories of the life and hardships of an office worker through a contractual employee at a trading company navigating work life based on strategies of Baduk; while the TV drama version, which aims to appeal to a broader audience, strengthened popular narratives with topics of social issues such as 'hardships of the non-permanent employee', 'sexual discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace', 'difficulties of a working mom', and 'romance between new colleagues'. In addition, in order to create dramatic enjoyment, the drama's storytelling strategy incorporated conflicts by creating confrontational relationships among good and evil characters, and added humanism and comedic effect.

Illness has long been an important plot device in Korean dramas. In earlier years, the device typically was supposed to be in the form of a terminal bodily disease occurring for the female main character toward the end of the story. On the other hand, the latest trend is to situate a mental illness for the male lead character at the earlier part, and use it as a tool to build characters, construct causal relations and set the intense tone for the overall story. The mental illness as a plot device helps to provide a series of reversals, revelations and turnarounds, giving viewers a stronger sense of intensity, empathy and identification. While the illness used to play the role of a deus ex machina to make a big emotional finish, the latest adoption of the mental illness as a main plot device has enhanced the flexibility of the plot and the effect of versimilitude in dramas. These noticeable changes make one suspect that the focus of Korea's drama contents might have already begun to grow out of the conventional soap operas into different genres.

This study examined whether mobile OTT video service substitutes home TV by using 3 screen data of Nielson-KoreanClick. According to the 2SLS estimation results, when the time spent on mobile OTT video service increased by 1% p, the time spent watching home TV decreased by 12.4%. The results also showed that 1%p increase in the time spent using YouTube app and the mobile OTT video services provided by telecommunication company(Oksusu, Alleh TV, VideoPortal) reduced the time spent on watching terrestrial channels on TV by 16.2% and 23.9%, respectively. The displacement of mobile OTT video service on home TV will be accelerated in the near future. In order to resolve the issue of regulatory unfairness with pay TV services and to safeguard viewer's interests, discussions to establish regulation for OTT video services should be taken place more quickly.

Increasing demand for realistic media and improvement of transmission and device techniques accelerate ultra-high definition(UHD) service realization. In Korea, the cable TV broadcasting companies are planning to commercialize in Apr. 2014. For the terrestrial TV broadcasting service, technical issues are considered for the specification of UHD broadcasting system. However, the frequency bands and the system bandwidth for the terrestrial UHD broadcasting system have not been decided. In this paper, we propose required spectrum bandwidth for the next-generation terrestrial broadcasting service considering source coding, error correcting codes and modulation techniques. Also, we propose frequency management plan for terrestrial UHD broadcasting system in which we divide all parts of the country into 9 frequency zones and allocate 4 frequency band to each frequency zone considering single frequency network (SFN).
