An Empirical Study on the Economic Value to Eulsukdo based on SB-DC CVM (단일양분형 가상가치평가법을 이용한 을숙도 가치추정)

  • The purpose of the study is to estimate value of the Eulsukdo that is attracting lots of birds. Eulsukdo became one of the most famous eco-tourism destinations worldwide and environmental restoration work is progressing with enormous budget. The input of the budget by policy judgement basically can be justified when the benefit excesses the cost in social aspect. Eulsukdo has external effect as cultural tourism resource but it is difficult to estimate the value in market. The study is to estimate the value of Eulsukdo through the single-bounded dichotomous CVM(Contingent Valuation Methods). According to analysis results, the mean WTP(Willingness to Pay) and the truncated mean WTP are estimated at 5,240 and 3,374 won in the log-normal model, and 5,888 and 3,232 won in the log-logistic model respectively. The annual total benefits value based on the truncated mean WTP is estimated at 3,870 million won in the log-normal model and 4,040 million won in log-logistic model. The result of this study will provide useful guide to policy makers and developers who fully realize the value of public goods.

  • 21세기 디지털비디오 시장의 장을 연 DVD는 무한한 가치를 지닌 잠재력이 높은 기술이며 그로 인해 파생되는 다양한 제품들은 향후 디지털 정보가전시장에서 우위를 점하리라 예상된다. 이에 본 고에서는 DVD에 대한 종합적인 평가와 더불어 국내외의 시장상황을 살펴보았다. 또한, 현존하는 DVD 시장의 문제점과 DVD와 관련해 특허풀을 이루고 있는 DVD 포럼에 대해서도 조사하였다.

임팩트 투자의사 결정요인에 관한 연구

  • 임팩트 투자(impact investment)는 사회적 가치와 재무적 이익을 동시에 추구하는 소셜벤처에 투자하는 행위이다. 그동안 국내에서는 정부 주도로 임팩트 투자 생태계가 조성되고 성장하였다. 선순환 투자 생태계를 위해서는 소셜벤처가 가지는 사회혁신의 가치와 임팩트 투자의 연계가 중요하다. 사회적 형평과 시장의 효율의 두 가치 중심으로 수요와 공급이 맞는 임팩트 투자에 대한 이해가 필수적이다. 특히, 임팩트 투자 지원정책과 투자가 공공에서 민간으로 확대되는 시점에서 임팩트 투자의사 결정요인을 규명하는 차별화된 접근이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 임팩트 투자의사 결정요인을 분석하고 우선순위를 도출하고자 하였다. 먼저 문헌분석을 통해 투자 결정에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하고 임팩트 투자 심사역을 대상으로 자문·설문조사를 수행한 뒤, 델파이 기법을 적용하여 주요 투자의사 결정요인을 도출하였다. 다음으로는 임팩트 투자 심사역 10명을 대상으로 AHP분석을 실시하여 투자의사 결정요인의 우선순위를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 상위요인의 중요도는 시장-창업가(팀)-제품·서비스-재무의 순서로 확인되었으며, 세부요인의 중요도는 '시장의 경쟁강도 및 진입장벽-시장성장 및 확장 가능성-팀의 전문성 및 역량-신시장 창출 가능성-영업활동 및 고객관리-창업가의 신뢰성 및 진정성의 순서로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 임팩트 투자에 대한 지원정책과 투자가 공공에서 민간으로 확대되는 시점에서 고유한 투자의사 결정요인을 규명하여 투자를 희망하는 이해관계자들에게 기초 자료를 제시했다는 데 의의가 있다.

  • Marketing techniques developed for private organizations are being widely used in libraries. The primary focus in marketing has shifted to maximizing user perceived value from the perspective of library users. This paper examines library as an industry as a way to establish the basis for library's overall value, applies the R-I-R model and its taxonomy of value in using library and information services, and proposes market orientation approach to systematically plan and coordinate academic library marketing activities.

  • Technology valuation is necessary for determining the feasibility of technology commercialization. However, existing methods focus only on technology evaluation, with limitation in sufficiently reflecting buyer viewpoint. In addition, it causes a gap between estimated value and market value. Therefore, this research suggests a new technology valuation method which focuses on the perspectives of buyers. Technology factors, buyer factors and market factors are first determined and their relationships are analyzed. Second, based on the relationships, profit projections are calculated using the discount cash flow method. Finally, profit projections for each year are discounted. The proposed method was applied using the ubiquitous home network system and audio service and illumination control method and results compared with the value of a technology valuation guide distributed by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The technology valuation approach used in this research is quantitative and systematic and can be used as a decision making support tool in technology transfer, reflecting various perspectives of stakeholders.

  • The objective of this case study is to analyze how effectively KIA K5, which is a leading mid-size car brand, has positioned itself into the mid-size car market. Before KIA launched the K5, Sonata and SM5 were the leading brands in the mid-size car market. They had loyal customers who like their similar images. As many competitors keep launching new brands or new designs into the car industry, Sonata and SM5 were pressured to introduce new versions. But, the YF Sonata and the New SM5 failed to catch up with the new trends in the market. Whilst YF Sonata was perceived as too innovative, the New SM5 was treated as an old car by the target customers of the mid-size car. While the two leading brands struggled to attract customers, KIA K5 found a new market space by identifying and focusing on the lucrative replace and up-grade demand segment and filling the gap between the current product category values and the emerging mid-size car category values. The K5 found the right values that customers need and successfully articulated the values to the customers. This case study illustrates that a successful positioning strategy can be effectively employed to attract customers in the saturated car manufacturing industry. This case can be summarized as the successful positioning strategy of KIA K5 is comprised of four primary pillars: design innovation, market analysis, STP (segmentation, targeting, and positioning), and launch strategy. The KIA K5 case study provides valuable insights and implications for many other companies that are planning to find a proper positioning strategy for their own business.

  • The importance of environmental resources has been recognized over the world after Rio declaration(1992). so it is moved to monetarize environmental resources. The studies on the evaluation of nonmarket goods began also in the early 1990 in Korea. In practice the preliminary feasibility studies(PFS) are carried out since 1999 in case of major public investments projects. In PFS the Benefit-Cost analysis is practically used. which is considering the evaluation of environmental resources. But the methods for the evaluation have not been fixed up. In this study It is introduced to the theory and major methods for the evaluation of environmental resources. In the theory the evaluation is handled in aspect of demand function and supply function. The optimum level can be extracted from the two functions. In the method. travel cost method(TCM), hedonic price method(HPM) and contingent valuation method(CVM) are introduced according to the market structures.

  • Examining the relation between market structure and the value of innovation is important for competition and STI policy. If the value is large in a specific industry structure, government may lead the industry to take that form to enhance innovation. Our simple calibration in the case of linear demand and constant Me results in the conclusion that the incentive for R&D in the case of major and minor innovation in Cournot competition is less than that of merger and cooperative R&D. This emphasizes again "necessary evil" as a monopoly for innovation.
