Selecting the optimal location of debris containment booms in a reservoir using a ELCOM model (ELCOM 모형을 이용한 인공호의 부유물 차단망 최적 위치 선정)

  • 우리나라의 댐저수지는 홍수기에 상류로부터 다량의 부유물이 폐기물 등과 함께 일시에 유입되어 미관을 해치거나 상수원 수질을 악화시키는 등의 문제점을 가지고 있다. 이에 부유물의 하류확산을 방지하고 수거와 처리를 효율적으로 하기 위한 부유물 차단망이 설치되어 운영 중이다. 부유물 차단망의 설치위치는 저수지내의 흐름을 고려하여 부유물을 가장 효과적으로 차단할 수 있는 지점을 선정하여야 하나, 저수지 흐름을 고려하지 않고 설치될 경우 차단망이 빈번하게 훼손되거나 부유물이 적절하게 포집되지 못한 채 상류에 흩어지는 결과를 초래하기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 대형저수지인 소양댐과 신규 중소규모 댐인 영주댐의 부유물 차단망 최적 설치위치를 선정하기 위하여 3차원 모형을 이용하여 다양한 조건에서의 저수지내 흐름분포와 수리적 특성을 검토하였다. 적용모형은 3차원 수리동력학 모형인 ELCOM 모형을 적용하였으며, 홍수기 표면 유속장 분포, 수직수온분포 및 밀도류 발생지점 등을 종합적으로 분석하여 최적 설치지점을 검토하였다. 시뮬레이션 조건은 200년 빈도 홍수 유입에 대해 초기 수위에 따른 영향을 고려하기 위하여 갈수위, 풍수위 등으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 소양댐의 경우 기존 설치위치에서는 plunging point가 설치지점보다 하류에 위치하여 부유물 포집 기능에는 이상이 없으나 최대유속이 2 m/s를 초과하는 것으로 나타나 안정적 운영을 위하여 이전 설치하는 것이 적합할 것으로 판단되었다. 또한 신규댐인 영주댐에서는 다양한 시나리오에 대하여 분석한 결과 2개 지점이 적합한 것으로 분석되어 적치장 위치 등을 종합적으로 고려하여 최적위치를 선정하도록 하였다. 이와 같은 연구 결과는 부유물 차단망 설치설계기준 등에 반영되어 과학적인 댐 운영관리에 활용될 것으로 판단되며, 향후 보다 안정적인 시설물 관리에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • Autonomous system for UAVs has a capability to decide an appropriate current action to achieve the goal based on the ultimate mission goal, context of mission, and the current state of the UAV. We propose a decision-making system that has an ability to operate ISR mission autonomously under the realistic limitation such as low altitude operation with high risk of terrain collision, a set of way points without change of visit sequence not allowed, and position uncertainties of the objects for the mission. The proposed decision-making system is loaded to a Hardware-In-the-loop Simulation environment, then tested and verified using three representative scenarios with a realistic mission environment. The flight trajectories of the UAV and selected actions via the proposed decision-making system are presented as the simulation results with discussion.

  • In this paper, modeling of a high-resolution multi-function radar is proposed to simulate radar performance in a war game simulator, called AddSIM. To incorporate the multi-function radar model into the AddSIM, the modeling must comprise a component-based structure consisting of physics, logics, and information blocks. Therefore, we assign the RF hardware of a RADAR as the physic block, a controller as the logics block, and the RF specifications of the RADAR as the information block. Detailed modeling of the physics and logics blocks are addressed, and data structure is also presented on an engineering level. On a multi-target engaged scenario, the performance of the multi-function radar is numerically analyzed and its validation is examined.

  • It is not easy to evacuate when people face with emergency situation in deep underground space because space perception and synthetic judgement are readily lowered. In stead of evacuating safely outside within the given time, evacuation safety zone is required to be designed and installed. In this study, PATS (Pedestrian movement based Assessment Toolkit for Simulation) is applied to build a comprehensive and analytic framework for seeking the optimal (or proper) numbers and locations of evacuation safety zone. With two scenarios of emergency situation at intermodal transfer center with the 6 floor in underground, the problematic location on the evacuation path has been identified and the proper locations has been presented.

  • Recently, the magnitude and frequency of the natural disaster have been increased, the damage has become severer. The importance of disaster response system to relieve the damage has arised continuously. This study has tried to develop the algorithm to solve the facility location and size problem in emergency logistics. A facility in the emergency logistics has various roles in victim care, casualty treatment, relief resource management and relief vehicle assistance. Moreover, the location of facility in emergency logistics has to consider the safety and reliability. To gather these information, information management system with IoT sensors are suggested. The location problem in this study also covers various features to response various demands in disaster. To solve this problem, this study suggested MIP based algorithm. Scenario based simulation experiments are conducted to verify the performance suggested algorithm.

Narrowband Listen-Before-Talk under Coexistence with Wideband Systems in Unlicensed Spectrum (비면허대역에서 광대역 시스템과 공존을 위한 협대역 Listen-Before-Talk 기법 연구)

  • LTE's extension for unlicensed spectrum called Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) is equipped with Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) designed similar with the backoff mechanism of Wi-Fi for coexistence. However, Wi-Fi's backoff mechanism has not evolved from its old design for compatibility with legacy devices, thus LAA's LBT is not efficient either in utilizing spectrum. If LAA operates with no Wi-Fi systems in proximity, it can run more efficient LBT. In this paper, we propose Narrowband Clear Channel Assessment (NCCA) for narrowband transmission. In NCCA, an LAA node performs LBT in either wide or each narrow bandwidth segment. This allows multiple LAA nodes to perform simultaneous transmissions in orthogonal bandwidth segments in the same time slot. We design four variants of NCCA implementation and model their performance using a mathematical model. The coexistence performance of NCCA with conventional wideband nodes and the accuracy of the model are shown via simulation.

AIC & MDL Algorithm Based on Beamspace, for Efficient Estimation of the Number of Signals (효율적인 신호개수 추정을 위한 빔공간 기반 AIC 및 MDL 알고리즘)

  • The accurate estimation of the number of signals included in the received signal is required for the AOA(: Angle-of-Arrival) estimation, the interference suppression, the signal reception, etc. AIC(: Akaike Information Criterion) and MDL(: Minimum Description Length) algorithms, which are known as the typical algorithms to estimate the signal number, estimate the number of signals according to the minimum of each criterion. As the number of antenna elements increased, the estimation performance is enhanced, but the computational complexity is increased because values of criteria for entire antenna elements should be calculated for finding their minimum. In order to improve this problem, in this paper, we propose AIC and MDL algorithms based on the beamspace, which efficiently estimate the number of signals while reducing the computational complexity by reducing the dimension of an array antenna through the beamspace processing. In addition, we provide computer simulation results based on various scenarios for evaluating and analysing the estimation performance of the proposed algorithms.

Development and Effect of Simulation Education Program including Interdisciplinary Communication for Nursing Students (간호대학생을 위한 학제간 의사소통을 포함한 시뮬레이션 교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과)

  • Communication is an important factor for nurses to lead successful nursing interventions by establishing therapeutic relationships with the subjects and cooperative relationships between the various occupations. The purpose of this study was to develop a communication education program to nurse college students to improve communication skills among medical professionals and to analyze the effects of the program. The subjects of this study were 54 students in the 4th grade of P nursing. The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between the subjects' communication clarity(t=-7.75, p<.001) and self-leadership (t=-4.43, p<.001). Satisfaction with communication increased after the training but there was no significant difference (t=-1.22, p=.226). In conclusion, communication program using SBAR has a positive effect on clarity of communication and self-leadership of nursing students, and it is necessary to develop continuous education that can develop various scenarios and repeat training.

The DIO Interval Adjustment to Enhance Mobility in RPL (RPL에서 이동성 향상을 위한 DIO 전송 간격 조절)

  • The main purpose of this research is to propose an approach for solving the packet loss problem by quickly adapting to topology change when nodes move in RPL-based IoT environment. In order to enhance mobility, every node is aware of the mobility of its neighbor nodes and quantifies the mobility level based on the number of control messages and all received packets. According to the mobility level, the DIO timer is changed. The proposed approach allows nodes to change their DIO timers according to their mobility levels to adapt topology changes and update paths to the sink. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated using a Contiki-based Cooja simulator in various moving speeds. The simulation results show that the proposed approach copes with mobility scenarios better than the standard RPL by ascertaining that the packet delivery ratio is improved by 31.03%.

The Current Situation and Prospect of Safety Education Contents based on VR (VR기반 안전 교육콘텐츠 현황과 전망)

  • Recently, interest in safety education based on VR has been increasing, but it started rising doubts are growing over its effectiveness. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis project is to research the current status of safety education contents based on VR and present situations and future prospects for safety education based on VR. As a result of researching about safety education contents using VR, the movement or condition of characters in the contents in the VR environment was very unnatural. Especially, in simulations such as driving a VR device, the controller was skeptical about its efficiency because the operation was different from the actual environment. As a result, we would like to make suggestions and forecasts as follows: First, the production of real and twin environment in VR should be realized. Second, the natural movement of the character should be performed. Third, various controllers should be released in VR devices. Fourth, a realistic scenario should be developed.
