Resource Availability-based Multi Auction Model for Cloud Service Reservation and Resource Brokering System (자원 가용성 기반 다중 경매 모델을 이용한 서비스 예약형 클라우드 자원 거래 시스템)

  • A cloud computing is one of a parallel and distributed computing. The cloud computing provides some service for user with virtual resources. However, a user's service request does not show a time pattern. As a result, each resource also shows a different availability at the same time. This difference affects a quality of service (QoS) and a resource selection for users. Therefore, we propose the resource availability-based multi auction model for cloud service reservation and resource brokering system. The proposed system is to select the proper resource provider based on the users' request. The proposal adopts the multi phase of the auction to transact resources. The system evaluates the available factor of each resource on the auction phase, and finally reserves the service on the adaptive queue. The proposed model shows the better performance than other existing method.

An Evaluation of Effectiveness for Providing Safety Navigation Supporting Service : Focused on Route Plan Sharing Service (안전 항해 지원 서비스 제공에 대한 유용성 평가(I) : 항로 계획 공유 서비스를 대상으로)

  • In this paper, we suggest a route plan sharing service for the navigation assistance service which is the second item of 16 items in maritime service portfolios (MSPs) for safety navigation based on interview process. Also, we developed scenarios for effectiveness evaluation of the proposed service, and conducted simulations using full mission ship handling simulator (FMSS) for effectiveness evaluation of proposed services based on the developed scenarios. Through the simulations, we analyzed proximity measures, controllability statistics and subjective evaluations to assess the usefulness of suggested service. If accomplishing the test for new services to apply real ships and vessel traffic (VTS) center, there has possibilities to occur various risks in terms of time/cost problems. Therefore, there is needs for the preliminary effectiveness evaluation processes necessarily when adopts and implements new services. Because we expected the service that is helpful for safety navigation, but the test results are not when conducted a simulation.

Moderating Effect of Learning styles on the relationship of quality and satisfaction in the context of Business Simulation Game (시뮬레이션활용 경영 교육의 품질요인과 성과에 대한 학습유형의 조절효과)

  • This study aims to explore the effect of quality factors and learning styles on users' satisfaction in the use of business simulation tools in business education. For this purpose, statistical methods such as reliability test, factor analysis, ANOVA, regression analysis were carried out using the survey data from university students. The quality factors of education using simulation were classified into contents, education environment, interpersonal activities, and instructor support while learning styles were classified into proactive, self-directed, environmental-dependent, and passive styles. The results showed that each quality factors of education using business simulation had a strong positive effect on user satisfaction. Proactive and environment-dependent group had higher satisfaction than other groups. Learning styles had moderating effects on the quality-satisfaction relationship, and the direction and degree varied depending on the quality factors and learning styles. Theoretical and practical implications were drawn from these findings.

  • 네트워크 보안은 정보통신 및 인터넷 기술이 발전함에 따라 그 중요성과 필요성이 더욱 절실해지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 네트워크 보안의 대표적인 침입 차단 시스템의 패킷 필터 및 네트워크 구성요소들을 모델링하였다. 각 모델은 DEVS 모델을 참조한 MODSIM III 기반의 기본 모델(Basic Model)과 결합 모델(Compound Model)의 두 가지 유형으로 정의하였다. 기본 모델은 독립적인 기능을 수행하는 단위 모델을 표현하고, 결합 모델은 여러 개의 모델이 연동되어 상위 레벨의 시스템을 표현한다. 시뮬레이션을 위한 모델링과 그래픽 기능이 강력한 MODSIM III를 기반으로 모델들을 비롯한 시뮬레이션 환경을 구현하였다. 대상 네트워크 환경에서 사용한 공격은 서비스 기부 공격 형태인 SYN flooding 공격과 Smurf 공격을 발생하였다. 이 공격들에 대하여, 패킷 필터 모델에 다양한 보안 정책을 적용하여 시뮬레이션을 실행하였다. 본 연구에서의 시뮬레이션을 통하여, 과거의 단순 패킷 필터링에서 진일보한 Stateful Inspection의 우수한 보안 성능과, 보안 정책의 강도를 점점 높였을 때 보안 성능이 향상되는 점을 검증하였다.

  • 오늘날 발전을 거듭하고 있는 첨단 정보기술을 이용한 지능형 시뮬레이션/시뮬레이터의 표준으로 확고히 자리를 잡고 있는 HLA(High Level Architecture)는 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어의 재사용성과 상호운용성을 촉진시키기 위하여 미 국방성에 의해 개발되어 이제는 분산 시뮬레이션의 표준이라 할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 지능정보 기술이 시뮬레이션/시뮬레이터 기술과 어떻게 연관되어 있으며, 어떻게 사용될 것인가에 대한 개념 연구와, 시뮬레이션/시뮬레이터모델 내에서 첨단 정보기술들이 무슨 역할을 하는지에 대한 방향을 도출하였다. 또한, HLA와 HLA의 가장 중요한 구성 요소중 하나인 RTI(Run Time Infrastructure)의 최신 버전과 RTI가 지원하는 서비스에 대해 고찰하였다. HLA 페더레이션 개발자들이 HLA 페더레이션 개발시 지침이 되는 여섯 단계의 페더레이션 개발 절차인 FEDEP(Federation Development and Execution Process) 모델을 따랐으며, RTI의 최신 버전(RTI-NG 1.3v4)을 사용하여 HLA를 따르는 지능정보형 시뮬레이션 프로그램의 프로토타입을 개발하였다.

  • The performance of various GFR implementations has been recently studied due to the interest to provide bandwidth guarantees with a simpler implementation than ABR in ATM networks. One of the important factors is buffer management for guaranteeing QoS in GFR service. An efficient buffer management algorithm is necessary to guarantee MCR for untagged cell in ATM switch. In this paper, we propose and evaluate a buffer management scheme to provide the GFR service guarantees. The proposed scheme can control the cell discarding for fairness in each VC, and compared with Double-EPD and DFBA. Our results show that the proposed buffer management with per-VC queuing achieves significant enhancement on goodputs and fairness index than those of existing methods.

  • As various portable digital devices are developed, the space of the TV audience is expanding. We propose a structure of broadcasting control in VOD service in which viewers can resume the viewing of digital broadcasting contents in different devices after they have stopped the viewing to move to another place. Then we design a session and resource management system of VOD for this control. In particular, we design the session management of each consumer and simulate the seamless VOD connection model.

A Study on the Performance Analysis for Partial Buffer Sharing Priority Mechanism with Two Thresholds (두개의 임계치를 갖는 부분 버퍼공유 우선도 방식의 성능 분석에 관한 연구)

  • In the communication network, multimedia service such as high quality voice, high speed data, image etc. will be added to the existing service. This service generates new requirements for the communication networks. The priority control mechanism can be used to control multimedia traffics generated by many communication systems. The priority mechanism which assigns prioirities to generated cells according to service quality is one of the traffic control. The priority assignment can be divided by priority criterion for each traffic characteristics such as loss sensitivity and delay sensitivity. In this paper, we alnalyzed the partial buffur sharing (PBS) mechani느 as a traffic control reducing the cell loss, and proposed analysis method. We analyzed the PBS mechanism using classical approach as a Markov chain. In order to validata proposed analysis method, simulation is performed using simulation package SIMSCRIPT 11.5. From this results, we confirmed that proposed analysis method can be verified. Also, we presented cell loss probability of ATM network when this results are to be applied to ATM networks.

  • Smart TV System will lead to drastic change of communication and media industries as one of the emerging next generation network services. However, when the number of concurrent users increases rapidly, the issue of service quality degradation occurs because providing services to many users simultaneously stresses both the server and the network. The server limitation can be circumvented by deploying server clusters. but the network limitation is far less easy to cope with, due to the difficulty in determining the cause and location of congestion and in provisioning extra resources. In order to alleviate these problems, a number of schemes have been developed. Prior works mostly focus on reducing user-centric performance metrics of individual connection, such as the round-trip time(RTT), downloading time or packet loss rate, but tend to ignore the network loads caused by the concurrent connections or global network load balance. In this work, we make an in-depth investigation on the issue of user grouping for massive Smart TV services through simulations on actual Internet test-bed, PlanetLab.

  • 모바일 인터넷 액세스 서비스에서의 트래픽은 음성위주에서 동영상에 기반 한 멀티미디어 서비스로 급속히 전이되고 있으며 그 속도는 점차 가속되고 있다. 따라서 이러한 멀티미디어 트래픽을 보다 효율적이고 신속히 처리하기 위하여 IP에 기반 한 'Beyond IMT-2000(3G 및 그 이후 세대)' 네트워크의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 환경에서 대용량의 멀티미디어 트래픽을 보다 효율적이고 신속히 처리하고 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경을 지원하기 위한 'Beyond IMT-2000' 네트워크의 의미를 가진 다양한 Seamless 서비스를 제공해 주는 IP에 기반하고 있는 IP$^2$네트워크의 개념 및 아키텍처에 대하여 서술한다. 나아가 본 논문은 모바일 전달매체의 역할을 수행하는 IP$^2$ 트랜스포트 네트워크의 설계 시 요구되는 필요사항을 IP-BB의 관점에서 정의하였으며 이와 같은 요구사항을 충족시킬 수 있는 방안을 설명하였다.충족시킬 수 있는 방안을 설명하였다.
