System Operational Performance Analysis for Wire-Guided Torpedo (선유도어뢰 체계운용성능분석 기법)

  • System operational performance analysis for wire-guided torpedo is intended to provide technical analysis data for requirements analysis and development, which, as a consequence, supports the requirements definition activity for systems engineering. Technical approach and analysis example are presented including problem definition, formulation, modeling, simulation and analysis results that are applied to the on-going Next Generation Torpedo project.

  • In this paper we study the qualify of sequential coverage analysis under a scenario of distributed stochastic simulation known as MRIP(Multiple Replications In Parallel) in terms of the confidence intervals of coverage and the speedup. The estimator based in the F-distribution was applied to the sequential coverage analysis of steady-state means. in simulations of the $M/M/1/{\infty},\;M/D/I/{\infty}\;and\;M/H_{2}/1/{\infty}$ queueing systems on a single processor and multiple processors. By using multiple processors under the MRIP scenario, the time for collecting many replications needed in sequential coverage analysis is reduced. One can also easily collect more replications by executing it in distributed computers or clusters linked by a local area network.

  • There is a high demand for the diagnostic medical blood analyzer in the global medical device market. The domestic market is in infant stage, but expected to grow very fast. In this study, we attempt to provide several ways for production improvement in order to secure price competitiveness of domestic medical blood analyzer. For this purpose we identify the problems of current production process using ARENA simulation and suggest several alternatives for productivity improvement.. Five steps of TOC (Theory of Constraints) and ARENA simulation are employed to predict productivity of each alternative and to suggest further improvement.

The Results Comparison of Measurement and Simulations in ISL(Integrated Schottky Logic) Gate (ISL 게이트에서 측정과 시뮬레이션의 결과 비교)

  • We analyzed the electrical characteristics of platinum silicide schottky junction to develope the voltage swing in Integrated Schottky Logic gates, and simulated the characteristics with the programs in this junctions. Simulation programs for analytic characteristics are the Medichi tool for device structure, Matlab for modeling and SUPREM V for fabrication process. The silicide junctions consist of PtSi and variable silicon substrate concentrations in ISL gates. Input parameters for simulation characteristics were the same conditions as process steps of the device farications process. The analitic electrical characteristics were the turn-on voltage, saturation current, ideality factor in forward bias, and has shown the results of breakdown voltage between actual characteristics and simulation characteristics in reverse bias. As a result, the forward turn-on voltage, reverse breakdown voltage, barrier height were decreased but saturation current and ideality factor were increased by substrates increased concentration variations.

Reverse Simulation Software Architecture for Required Performance Analysis of Defense System (국방 시스템의 요구 성능 분석을 위한 역 방향 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어 아키텍처)

  • This paper focuses on reverse simulation methods to find and analyze the required performance of a defense system under a given combat effectiveness. Our approach is motivated that forward simulation, that traditionally employs the effectiveness analysis of performance alternatives, is not suitable for resolving the above issue because it causes a high computational cost due to repeating simulations of all possible alternatives. To this end, the paper proposes a reverse simulation software architecture, which consists of several functional sub-modules that facilitate two types of reverse simulations according to possibility of inverse model design. The proposed architecture also enable to apply various search algorithms to find required operational capability efficiently. With this architecture, we performed two case studies about underwater and anti-air warfare scenarios. The case studies show that the proposed reverse simulation incurs a smaller computational cost, while finding the same level of performance alternatives compared with traditional forward simulation. Finally we expect that this study provides a guide those who desire to make decisions about new defense systems development.

  • To analyze the threat decision performance of MWR(Missile Warning Radar) give analysis on condition that we decide the effective threat using the POC(Probability of Over Countermeasure)/PUC(Probability of Under Countermeasure). Thus, we execute the simulation using the Monte-Carlo method to analyze effect, but the execution time of simulation took longer than we expected. In this paper, the effect analysis is proposed using the probability model to reduce the execution time of simulation. We present the setting method of parameter for probability model and the effect analysis result of MWR using the simulation. Also, we present the comparison result of simulation execution time for Monte-Carlo and probability model.

  • 날로 복잡해지고 거대해지는 시스템의 추세를 감안할 때 앞으로 시스템 분야의 주요 구성요소간 상호작용을 분석하여 최적의 시스템 운영방안을 도출하기 위해서는 시뮬레이션 기법의 도입이 필수적이다. Simplus 3D는 분석대상 시스템을 주요 객체 단위로 Model 상에 재구성하여 이들의 움직임과 주체적 의사결정 논리를 자체 서술어를 사용하여 묘사하도록 고안된 범용 그래픽 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어로 사용자가 정의한 Logic을 Procedure 또는 Function화하여 별도의 File에 저장하고 재활용 가능하며, 객체별 Logic Trace가 가능하여 객체 시나리오의 상세분석 및 Logic 디버깅이 용이하다. 또한 대상시스템의 특성에 따라 Macro한 수준의 개략적인 묘사부터 Micro한 수준의 제어 알고리듬에 이르기까지 묘사의 수준이 자유롭고, 시뮬레이션에 주로 사용되는 물류설비 및 Logic을 Module로 제공하며 필요시 Custom Logic을 추가할 수 있다. 분포형태는 일양분포, 지수분포, 정규분포 등 다양한 분포형태를 지원하며 9999개까지의 Random Number Seed 지정이 가능하다. 일반 PC에서도 실행 가능하며 3차원 Animation과 다양한 형태의 Report를 제공함으로써 비전문가나 의사결정자가 각종 대안에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과를 시각적으로 확인하여 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 하였다. Simplus 3D는 현재까지 생산시스템, 항만 및 교통 등의 분야에 광범위하게 활용되고 있으며, 본 논문에서는 기아자동차 WBS 물류시스템 시뮬레이션 모델과 고속도로 톨게이트 시뮬레이션 모델을 활용사례로 소개하고자 한다.

A Study on the Efficiency Improvement of Railway transportation in Melton Pig Iron using Simulation (시뮬레이션을 이용한 기관차 용선수송 작업 능률향상 방안에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 광양제철소에서 철광석과 코크스를 이용하여 용선을 생산하는 고로공장과 이러한 용선을 용강으로 변화시키는 제강공장지역을 운행하는 기관차 및 TLC (Torpedo Ladle Car)의 용선 수성작업을 분석하여 기관차 및 TLC의 적정댓수를 산정하고, 운행 패턴의 변화에 따른 대안들을 검토하였다. 시뮬레이션은 AUTOMOD II를 이용하여 수행하였으며, 시뮬레이션에 이용되는 관련 기준 및 운행 패턴을 수집하여 확정하고, 실적치의 분포를 추정하였다. 시뮬레이션의 결과는 현장 전문가들의 이해를 높이기 위아여 Animation을 통하여 가시화하였다.

  • The maintenance of the guided missiles typically requires the efficient management of spare parts and maintenance time. This study analyzed the impact of the maintenance time on operational availability. This study classifies the maintenance team with consideration of the skill level of the Harpoon guided missile maintenance and the goal is to analyze the impact on the operational availability with the skill levels quantitatively. Based on the real maintenance data of Harpoon guided missiles, a simulation model is constructed and analyzed. The analysis of the simulation result shows the trade-off between the maintenance time and operational availability. It is expected that the simulation model can help the maintenance policies of guided missiles.

A Study on Resource Allocations of Multi Function Radar in a Warship (함정의 다기능레이더(MFR) 자원할당 방안에 관한 연구)

  • A warship equipped with Multi Function Radar(MFR) performs operations by evaluating the degree of threats based on threats' symptom and allocating the resource of MFR to the corresponding threats. This study suggests a simulation-based approach and greedy algorithm in order to effectively allocate the resource of an MFR for warships, and compares these two approaches. As a detection probability function depending on the amount of allocations to each threat, we consider linear and exponential functions. Experimental results show that both the simulation-based approach and greedy algorithm allocate resource similarly to the randomly generated threats, and the greedy algorithm outperforms the simulation-based approach in terms of computational perspective. For a various cases of threats, we analyze the results of MFR resource allocation using the greedy algorithm.
