Efficieint Combination of OWL-DL and SWRL for Maintaining Decidability (추론을 위한 OWL-DL과 SWRL의 효율적 결합)

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 시대의 도래와 시맨틱 웹에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 관련 기술인 온톨로지와 이를 이용한 추론 기술에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 따라서, 추론이 가능한 시맨틱 웹 기반의 모델링과 추론에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 모델링을 위해 사용되는 OWL-DL과 임의의 사용자 규칙을 표현하는 SWRL은 각각 W3C의 표준안으로서, 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에 효율적으로 자동적인 개인화 서비스[1][2]를 제공하는데 있어서 적합하다. 그러나 OWL-DL과 SWRL의 단순한 결합은 질의응답(Query Answering)에 대한 처리가 비결정 가능한(undecidable) 문제를 야기한다. 본 논문에서는, 비결정가능성 문제의 원인인 무한반복의 가능성을 제거하기 위한 블록(blocking) 방법을 제안한다. OWL-DL이 지닌 서술논리(Description Logic)의 표현력을 유지하고, 그에 따른 추론의 질적인 성능을 유지하는 범위에서 블록방법을 사용하여 결정 가능한 질의응답을 수행하는데 궁극적인 목적을 두고 있다. OWL-DL의 TBox에 위치하는 존재 정량자(Existential Quantifier)를 대체하고 ABox에 삽입하여, 무한반복의 가능성을 없애는 해결 방법을 제시한다. 실험은 비결정가능성 문제를 DL-Safe 규칙을 통해 해결한 KAON2와 비교하여 진행한다.

  • 웹 상에서 XML 로 기술된 데이터가 증가하고, 이를 이용하여 의미 있는 데이터를 검색하는 것의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 웹 상에서 더 좋은 검색 성능을 보이기 위해 XML 질의 결과를 캐쉬하는 방법에 관한 연구들과 캐쉬의 저장 공간과 다양한 질의를 캐쉬에 저장하는 것에 한계가 있기 때문에 캐쉬 교체 기법에 관한 연구들이 있었다. 기존의 XML 캐쉬 교체 정책에는 질의 결과를 교체 단위로 하는 방법과 질의 결과 내의 각 경로들을 교체 단위로 하는 방법이 있는데, 첫번째 방법은 효율이 상대적으로 낮고 두번째 방법은 높은 효율에 비해 교체 연산을 수행하는 부담(overhead)이 크다는 단점이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 위 두 방법의 단점을 해결하기 위해 2 단계로 교체 희생자를 선택하는 방법을 제시한다. 질의 결과들 중에서 교체 희생자를 찾고, 그 희생자 내의 모든 경로들 중에서 다시 교체 희생자를 찾는다. 이는 각 질의 내의 경로가 교체 희생자가 되어 캐쉬 효율을 향상 시키고, 질의 결과에 대해 먼저 교체 대상을 찾으므로 교체 희생자를 찾기 위한 연산을 수행하는 부담을 줄인다. 또한 캐쉬 적중률, 최근 접근 시간, 인출 지연 시간, 객체 크기를 고려하여 교체 희생자를 선택하는 교체 함수를 제시한다. 가상의 시맨틱 데이터에 대한 캐쉬 교체 시스템을 구현하여 본 논문에서 제시한 교체 기법과 교체 함수를 평가한 결과를 기술한다.

  • In this paper, a management system of characters and roles for storytelling that is used for drama is proposed with ontology which is a key factor of semantic web. While there are few tools domestically, usage for storytelling with authoring tools is increasing outside. Especially, a study for the management system of characters. roles and casting is not performed. This study proposes a system to control a series of works related with them. It contributes to poor domestic environment of writing, which makes it systematically. Also, it applies semantic web technology by defining ontology.

  • This research is to develop product retrieval system through simplified communication by applying intelligent agent technology based on automatically created domain ontology to present solution on problems with e-commerce system which searches in the web documents with a simple keyword. Ontology development extracts representative term based on classification information of international product classification code(UNSPSC) and jewelry websites that is applied to analogy relationship thesaurus to establish standardized ontology. The intelligent agent technology is applied to retrieval stage to support efficiency of information collection for users by designing and developing e-commerce system supported with semantic web. Moreover, it designs user profile to personalized search environment and provide personalized retrieval agent and retrieval environment with inference function to make available with fast information collection and accurate information search.

  • Internet is in rapid growth from technology to total social environment, so technical and syntax based cyber crime is evolved but also psychological and semantic based one is showing. In this paper, we analyze the cyber-crime cases announced by police, then classify it into social and technical influence. After that, we study the profiling method on psychological view point of cyber-crimes. We expect that it is possible to classify cyber-crimes into the categories rapidly and take less time to analyze and response.

  • It has lately been recognized that the sharing and exchanging of the research results information is the critical factor to improve the research productivity. So many institutions are planning or developing the information systems which provide the research information services for researcher. But it has very difficulty in integrating the research resources information due to the dispersion and heterogeneity in data sources, and semantic and structural difference in describing data. We propose the semantic web based methodology and conceptual framework for raising the interoperability of metadata about research results information, which will support the integration of the distributed research data for information services in the end. We first introduce the ontology which is developed based on Standard Metadata of Research Results Information published by STISC. Then to show the applicability in real-world environment, we express the metadata of research information in RDF/RDFS according to ontology. Finally we proposed the conceptual architecture of research information service system which shows the main components, the functional requirements, and the principal and design direction at implementing the system.

Contents Recommendation Search System using Personalized Profile on Semantic Web (시맨틱 웹에서 개인화 프로파일을 이용한 콘텐츠 추천 검색 시스템)

  • With the advance of information technologies and the spread of Internet use, the volume of usable information is increasing explosively. A content recommendation system provides the services of filtering out information that users do not want and recommending useful information. Existing recommendation systems analyze the records and patterns of Web connection and information demanded by users through data mining techniques and provide contents from the service provider's viewpoint. Because it is hard to express information on the users' side such as users' preference and lifestyle, only limited services can be provided. The semantic Web technology can define meaningful relations among data so that information can be collected, processed and applied according to purpose for all objects including images and documents. The present study proposes a content recommendation search system that can update and reflect personalized profiles dynamically in semantic Web environment. A personalized profile is composed of Collector that contains the characteristics of the profile, Aggregator that collects profile data from various collectors, and Resolver that interprets profile collectors specific to profile characteristic. The personalized module helps the content recommendation server make regular synchronization with the personalized profile. Choosing music as a recommended content, we conduct an experience on whether the personalized profile delivers the content to the content recommendation server according to a service scenario and the server provides a recommendation list reflecting the user's preference and lifestyle.

  • Visualization elements as the technology to offer information to users effectively have become more important. In this study, we evaluate the usefulness of visualization elements in InSciTe which is a technology intelligence service developed by using Semantic Web technologies and text mining technologies for establishing R&D strategy using papers and patents. We propose design which can be preferred by users and applying methods of visualization elements through the quantitative and qualitative evaluation about each types of service. As a result of evaluation, we conclude that the visualization elements in InSciTe are implemented user-friendly to improve user's cognitive intuition.

  • Semantic web ontologies can be viewed as logic-based domain-oriented contents which allow distributed and heterogeneous information to be semantically integrated, automatically circulated, and enable implicit knowledge to be reasoned. This paper describes the 'Science and Technology Research Area' ontology which is being developed by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI). This ontology was defined to assist actual researchers and project planners to grasp the researchers community from a variety of viewpoints. We describe classes and properties as ontology components and exemplify the representation of real instances in the ontology. In order to represent the identities of real world instances within the ontology, the above ontology employs both class-dependent URI assignment schemes and the identity resolution methods.

  • Internet is a part of our common life and tremendous information is cumulated. In these trends, the personalization becomes a very important technology which could find exact information to present users. Previous personalized services use content based filtering which is able to recommend by analyzing the content and collaborative filtering which is able to recommend contents according to preference of users group. But, collaborative filtering needs the evaluation of some amount of data. Also, It cannot reflect all data of users because it recommends items based on data of some users who have similar inclination. Therefore, we need a new recommendation method which can recommend prefer items without preference data of users. In this paper, we proposed the apparel coordination system using personalized preference on the semantic web. This paper provides the results which this system can reduce the searching time and advance the customer satisfaction measurement according to user's feedback to system.
