An Experimental Study on the Rheological Properties of the Combined Self-Compacting Concrete by Quality Variations (품질변동에 따른 병용계 자기충전 콘크리트의 유동특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate experimentally the variation factors range having influence on the rheological properties of the combined self-compacting concrete according to materials quality, weighting error and site conditions. Two types cement (blast-furnace slag cement and belite cement), lime stone powder as binder and the optimum mix proportions in the preceded study are selected for this study. Also, variations for sensitivity test are as followings; (1) Concrete temperature 3 cases (2) Surface moisture of sand 5cases (3) Fineness modulus of sand 5cases (4) Specific surface of lime stone powder 3cases (5) Dosage of chemical admixture 5cases. Slump flow ($650{\pm}50mm$), 500 mm reaching time (($7{\pm}3sec$), V-type flowing time ($15{\pm}5sec$) and U-box height (min. 300 mm) are tested for sensitivity. As test results, the variations range for quality control are as followings. (1) Concrete temperature; $10{\sim}20^{\circ}C$(below $30^{\circ}C$) (2) Surface moisture of sand; $base{\pm}0.6%$ (3) Fineness modulus of sand; $2.6{\pm}0.2$ (4) Dosage of chemical admixture; $base{\pm}0.2%$ (5) Specific surface of lime stone powder $6000cm^2/g$. Compared with two types cement including based belite cement (binary type) and based slag cement (ternary type), the combined self-compacting concrete used belite cement type is most stable in the quality control because of high contents for lime stone powder and $C_2S$. It is to propose a control scheme of the combined self-compacting concrete in the actual construction work.

  • This study aimed to research and analyze the real condition of topsoil management of river development field as a significant case among domestic development fields for topsoil preservation. Through survey with experts, we understood the real condition and problems of topsoil management during river development. In order to verify this, we analyzed the characteristics of soil before and after development focusing on the rivers recently completed as an ecological river restoration project, supervised by Ministry of Environment among domestic river improvement projects. The study results are like below. First, experts preferred collecting and reusing topsoil as the best method to maintain and improve soil for plant growth. Second, realistically collecting and reusing topsoil is not fully conducted due to economical issues and inconvenience in construction. In the soil condition, third, the contents of elements necessary for plant growth like organic matter and total nitrogen declined overall after development.

Shape Optimum Design of Pultruded FRP Bridge Decks (인발성형된 FRP 바닥판의 형상 최적설계)

  • Due to their high strength to weight ratios and excellent durability, fiber reinforced polymer(FRP) is widely used in construction industries. In this paper, a shape optimum design of FRP bridge decks haying pultruded cellular cross-section is presented. In the problem formulation, an objective function is selected to minimize the volumes. The cross-sectional dimensions and material properties of the deck of FRP bridges are used as the design variables. On the other hand, deflection limits in the design code, material failure criteria, buckling load, minimum height, and stress are selected as the design constraints to enhance the structural performance of FRP decks. In order to efficiently treat the optimization process, the cross-sectional shape of bridge decks is assumed to be a tube shape. The optimization process utilizes an improved Genetic Algorithms incorporating indexing technique. For the structural analysis using a three-dimensional finite element, a commercial package(ABAQUS) is used. Using a computer program coded for this study, an example problem is solved and the results are presented with sensitivity analysis. The bridge consists of a deck width of 12.14m and is supported by five 40m long steel girders spaced at 2.5m. The bridge is designed to carry a standard DB-24 truck loading according to the Standard Specifications for Highway Bridges in Korea. Based on the optimum design, viable cross-sectional dimensions for FRP decks, suitable for pultrusion process are proposed.

A Study on Flexibility Acquisition Method for VLCC Shaft System (VLCC 축계 시스템의 유연성 확보 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The main reason for heat accidents occurring at the after stern tube bearing (STB) is excessive local pressure caused by the deflection of the propulsion shaft due to propeller loads. The probability of a heat accident is increased by the low flexibility of the shaft system in very large crude oil carriers (VLCCs) as the engine power and shaft diameter increase and the distance decreases between the forward and after STBs. This study proposed shaft system with only an after STB and no forward STB for a flexibility acquisition method for a VLCC shaft system under hull deformation. A Hertzian contact condition was applied, which assumes a half-elliptical pressure distribution along the contact width for the calculation of the local squeeze pressure. The propeller loads, heat effect, and hull deflection under engine operating conditions are also considered. The results show that the required design criteria were satisfied by building a partial slope at the white metal, which is the material at the axial contact side in the after STB. This system could reduce building cost by simplification of the shaft system.

Scale Model Studies for Stability Estimation of Twin Tunnels with Small Clearance (근접병설터널의 안정성 평가를 위한 모형실험 연구)

  • In this study, scaled model tests were performed to investigate the stability of twin tunnels with small clearance, where the pillar widths were 0.5D and 0.25D, respectively. The tunnels were supposed to be constructed in anisotropic weathered rocks with $30^{\circ}$ inclined bedding planes, and the model tests were conducted under the condition of lateral pressure ratio, 1. Six types of test models which had respectively different pillar widths and support conditions were experimented, where crack initiating pressures, maximum pressures, failure modes of pillar and deformation behaviors around tunnels were investigated. The models with wider pillar were cracked under higher pressure than the models with shallower pillar. The models with lining support were cracked under higher pressure and showed less tunnel convergence than the unsupported models. The models with both lining and pillar reinforcement were proved to be most stable among the tested models. In particular, as the model of 0.25D pillar width with only lining support showed shear failure of pillar according to the existing bedding planes, so both lining and pillar reinforcement were thought to be indispensable in that case of tunnel.

  • 도시화 면적이 증가하면 불투수 면적이 증가하고 그에 따라 도시 하천의 평상시 유출이 감소한다. 도시유역의 평상시 수량을 회복시키는 방법으로는 침투 증진시설(투수성 포장, 침투 트렌치, 침투 측구 등)의 설치, 하수의 고도처리 후 방류 저수지에 의한 유황 개선, 지하철 용출수 활용 등이 있다. 우리나라의 경우에 일부 도시하천의 수량 감소가 심각한 상황에 이르고 있으며 이를 해결하고자 하는 노력이 최근에 나타나고 있다. 수량을 회복하려면 유량 평가를 위한 현장조사, 수량회복 계획, 재원의 반영, 수량회복 시설의 설치 및 관리의 순서로 단계별 사업이 수행되어야 한다. 계획 단계의 과업에서 필요한 사항은 여러 가지 수량 회복 방법의 영향을 정량 평가하는 것이다. 이에 핵심이 되는 것은 수량 회복 요소를 포함하거나 추가한 수문순환 평가 도구이다. 침투시설 중 투수성 포장과 침투 트렌치를 모의하도록 기존의 SWMM 모형을 수정하였다. 그 과정에서 증발량 처리와 지하수 출력기능에 대한 오류도 수정되었다. 수정 개발된 SWMM을 침투시설 모형실험 결과와 비교하여 수정된 프로그램의 적합성을 검증하였다. 투수성 포장과 침투 트렌치를 고려하여 수정된 프로그램을 안양천의 지류인 학의천 유역에 적용하여 침투시설의 효과를 분석하였다. 만일 학의천 불투수 면적의 10%를 투수성 포장으로 교체하면 하류 비산교 지점의 저수량$(Q_{275})$이 3 %, 갈수량$(Q_{355})$이 17 % 증가하는 것으로 분석되었다. 침투 트렌치의 경우 학의천 소유역 별로 100m 트렌치를 $5{\sim}10$개 시공할 경우 저수량은 약 1 %, 갈수량은 약9 %가 증가하였다. 수정 개발된 SWMM을 사용하면 침투 트렌치와 투수성 포장 이 도시 유역의 건기 수량회복에 미치는 영향을 분석할 수 있다.해 경보발령 이전에 한계수위를 넘어서는 경우(case_3)로서 분석되었다. 이러한 실패한 경보발령의 경우에 대한 원인분석 결과, 기존의 모형화를 통해 고려되지 못하였던 해안도시 홍수의 특성 중 총강우량에 대한 고려, 선행강우 여부 및 강우 지속시간, 지속시간 내 강우집중도 그리고 선정지점 내 조위의 영향과 유역내 합류식 하수관거 시스템의 영향 등 자연유역과는 다른 다소 복잡한 요소를 고려한 해안도시홍수 경보발령 기준에 대한 개선이 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다.이 좋다고 고찰된다. 6. 우리 나라의 현행 수도작기로 본 기온 및 일조조건은 수도의 분얼전기에 대해서는 호조건하에 놓여 있으나, 분얼후기인 7월 중ㆍ하순 경의 일조부족과 고온다습조건은 병해, 특히 도열병의 유발원인이 되고 있다. 7. 우리 나라의 현행수도작기로 본 전국각지의 수도의 출수기는 모두 일조시간이 적은 부적당한 시기에 처해 있다. 8. 출수후 40일간의 평균기온에 의한 적산온도 88$0^{\circ}C$의 출현기일은 수원에서 8월 23일이었고, 년간편차를 고려한 안전출수기일은 8월 19일로서 적산온도면에서는 관행 출수기일은 약간 늦다고 보았다. 9. 등열기의 평균기온에 의한 적산온도는 현행 수도작기로서는 최종한계시기에 놓여 있으며, 평균기온의 년간편차와 우리 나라의 최저기온이 낮은 점을 고려할 때, 현행출수기는 다소 늦은 것으로 보았다. 10. 생육단계별의 수도체내의 질소함량은 영양생장기의 질소함량이 과다하였으며, 출수 이후에 영양조락을 여하히 방지하느냐가 문제된다고 보았다. 11. 수리불안전답 및 천수답이 차지하는 전답면적의 비율은 차차 감소되고 있는데, 이와 전체 10a당 수량의 증가율과의 상관계수를 산출하였는데, 수리불안전답과의 상관계수 (4)는 +0.525였으며, 천수답과는 r=+0.832, 그리고 수리불안전답과 천수답을 합계한 것과의

A Proposal of Autogenous Deformation and Self-induced Restrained Stress Test Using Thermal Analysis Results to Predict Early-Age Cracks of Externally Restrained Concrete Members (외부구속 콘크리트 부재의 초기균열 예측을 위해 온도해석 결과를 이용한 자가변형 및 구속응력 측정 실험의 제안)

  • It is difficult to predict the early-age cracks of strain restrained concrete members due to environmentally sensitive parameters. A new method is proposed to predict the cracks by test of autogenous deformation and self-induced restrained stress of specimens which simulates early-age crack state by hydration heat of the'Wall-On-Foundation'members. For this purpose, thermal analysis of entire structure considering the environmental condition is performed at first, and the specimens are set up where hydration heat was electronically controlled according to the analysis results. By measuring free deformation and force to compensate the autogenous strain including relaxation, feasibility of cracks can be estimated. The proposed method can predict the occurrence of cracks better than the material test of the early age concrete which has large variance. The method of this study is particularly useful when it is used as a preliminary experiments to predict the crack more precisely before full-scale concrete placement in construction of large structures.

A Study on the Lining Stability of Old Tunnel Using Groundwater Flow Modelling and Coupled Stress-Pore Water Pressure Analysis (지하수 유동과 응력-간극수압 연계 해석을 통한 노후터널의 라이닝 안정성 분석)

  • The degradation of a tunnel drainage system leads to increases in pore water pressure around the tunnel and the lining stress, which results in affecting the tunnel stability. In the present study of the Namsan 3th tunnel, more than 30 year old tunnel, the effects of the drainage performance reduction due to drain hole clogging on the tunnel lining stability were investigated by examining pore water pressure distribution around the tunnel and the lining stresses through numerical analysis. Groundwater flow modeling on the Mt. Namsan region was done first and 3D seepage and coupled stress-pore water pressure finite element analysis were performed on the tunnel using the results of the groundwater flow modeling. The pore water pressure distribution and the tunnel lining stresses could be predicted using a drain hole outflow data measured in the tunnel site. This analysis method may be used to evaluate the current stability of old tunnels for which in most cases field investigations and related information are not readily available.

Development and Verification of Eco-hybrid Rolling Mat for Preventing Bank Erosion Based on Large-scale Experiments (실규모 하천 실험을 통한 하안침식 방지 Eco-hybrid 롤링매트 공법 개발 및 검증)

  • Optimum engineering methods for bank protection were classified based on steepness of bank slope and an existence of waterfront facility in the floodplain, and a new concept of eco-hybrid rolling mat method which could be applicable for the unfitted cases with previously developed countermeasures was suggested in this study. The eco-hybrid rolling mat method can be constructed while maintaining the river environment and ecosystem that does not interfere with the ground and slopes, when bank erosion occurs, it is an economical and efficient construction method that can protect the revetment and the bank slope immediately. The developed eco-hybrid rolling mat method was verified for the designed structure, system, function and effect based on large-scale river experiments including field exposure and decomposition test. As a result, the normal operation and effect of the rolling mat ted under low and high velocity conditions were confirmed with respect to bank protection. The effect of bank erosion prevention was quantitatively validated by sediment concentration monitoring and analysis, and the product specification of the eco-hybrid rolling mat was presented based on the standardized mat applied in real-scale tests.

A Study on Behaviour of Tunnel Considering the Location of Groundwater Leaching and Fault Fracture Zone under Tunnel Construction (지하수 용출과 단층파쇄 위치에 따른 터널 거동 연구)

  • Ground characteristics is important in tunnel structure utilizing the strength of underground. In the case of the fault fracture zone such as weak soil conditions exists in the tunnel section and groundwater leaching occurs at the same time, it happens to occur to excessive displacement or collapse of tunnel frequently. Fault fracture zone is an important factor that determines the direction of displacement and the collapse of the tunnel under construction. Behavior of fault fracture zone is determined depending on the size and orientation of the surface portion of the tunnel. If the groundwater occurs in the face of tunnel, groundwater causes displacement and collapse. And the collapse characteristics of tunnel is a major factor in determining that the time-dependent behavior. It is difficult to accurately predict groundwater leaching from the fault fracture zone in the numerical analysis method and analyze the interaction behavior of groundwater and fault fracture zone. Therefore numerical analysis method has limitations the analysis of ground water in the ground which the fault fracture zone and groundwater occurs at the same time. It is required to comprehensively predict the behavior of tunnel and case studies of tunnel construction. Thus, the location of fault fracture zone is an important factor that determines the direction of displacement and the collapse of the tunnel. In this study, behavior characteristics of the tunnel according to the location of the fault fracture was analyzed.
