A Case Study on the Method to Improve on the Structure of Oil Tank (유류탱크 수명과 구조 개선 방안에 대한 사례연구)

  • This study carried out an evaluation of an oil tank that was defective in structure. This paper is divided into two sections which are analysis for the working process and suggestion for improving on the structure of the oil tank. As stated above, it has three major factors as to an improvement, such as the life cycle of structure (especially physical life cycle), and the many factors related to the duration years of the oil tank and analysis result. Based on this study, the improvement of oil tank was established. For example, the ground investigation needs before design and construction of oil tank, and constructing the oil tank by retaining wall type tank is good for maintenance. Also, it is important that the system for drainage is related to maintenance.

A Study on Electrical Accident of Distributing Cable Termination with Simulated Badness Construction (평가시공불량을 모의한 배전급 케이블 종단부의 전기적 사고 연구)

  • This paper introduces experimental investigates of an electrical accident of the distributing cable termination with simulated badness construction. We prepared two termination kites, one is built-up type, the other is heat contraction type. Also, we manufactured cable termination that have simulated defect by badness construction and measured their insulation characteristics such as ac (35kV, 1min) and impulse (95kV, $1.2{\times}50{\mu}s$) withstand test. The influence of defects such as thickness and the gap between stress-con of housing and semi-conductor on insulating properties of the termination have been studied. The thickness decrease of insulator decreases ac breakdown strength. Dielectric breakdown traces of insulator that is damaged by knife displayed other shape. The gap of between housing and semiconductor deteriorates dielectric strength of insulator seriously.

Numerical Simulation on Seepage and Seismic Behaviors of Poorly-Compacted Raised Reservoir Levee (다짐시공이 불량한 증고 저수지 제체의 침투 및 동적거동 해석)

  • It is urgent to redevelop the superannuated reservoir levee through the levee raising for countermeasure to climate change and improvement of storage capacity of reservoir. However, low compaction degree of the raised reservoir levee owing to poor construction condition leads to degradation of the stability of the reservoir levee on seepage and earthquake. In this study, seepage and seismic behavior of raised reservoir levee with low compaction degree was evaluated through numerical simulation. From the simulated results, water level raising possibly induces crack and/or sinkhole on the surface of the poorly-compacted raised reservoir levee owing to the increase of the subsidences at the crown and the front side of that. In addition, relatively larger displacement and acceleration response at the front side of raised reservoir levee in seismic condition may degrade overall stability of reservoir levee. Therefore, reasonable construction management for the compaction of the raised reservoir levee is required for ensuring long-term stability on seepage and earthquake.

오염방지 시설을 이용한 지하수 환경성 복원 연구

  • 질산성질소 및 탁도로 오염된 지하수공에 대하여 환경성 복원을 위한 오염방지 시설을 시범 설치하였다. 지하수공에 대한 오염 정도를 조사한 결과 PS-1, CW-1, 그리고 CW-2 공이 질산성질소로 오염되어 먹는물 수질기준을 초과하였고, CW-3 공은 탁도가 먹는물 수질기준을 초과하였다. 오염원은 지하수공 개발시 수량 확보를 위하여 그라우팅을 제대로 하지 않은 불량시공으로 인한 오염된 지표수의 유입으로 기인되었다. 금번 연구는 오염된 지하수의 환경성 복원을 위한 것으로, 오염원과 지하수를 격리시켜 오염물질의 지하수 내 유입을 방지할 수 있도록 패커 그라우팅을 완벽하게 다시 실시하였으며, 오염방지시설을 설치하였다. 이 연구를 위하여 먼저 대수층의 분포 및 특성팍악, 지하수공내 지표수의 유입구간 규명, 지하수 오염원, 오염실태, 오염경로 등을 파악하였다 오염방지시설을 설치한 후, 설치 전,후의 질산성질소와 탁도의 함량을 비교하기 위하여 수질 분석을 실시하였다. PS-1의 경우, 오염방지시설 설치전의 질산성질소 함량은 16.1 mg/L 이었으나, 설치후에는 8.1 mg/L, 7.9 mg/L로써 설치전에 비하여 51% 감소되었으며, CW-1은 10.3 mg/L에서 6.3mg/L으로 39%, 그리고 CW-2는 14.9 mg/L에서 9.0 mg/L 으로 40% 감소되었다. CW-3 공의 탁도는 157 NTU에서 0.97 NTU로 완벽하게 복원되었다.

Analysis of Flood Inundation using FLUMEN Model (FLUMEN 홍수범람 해석)

  • 일반적으로 우리나라 수해는 미개수 하천 지역의 외수침수와 더불어 홍수유출 단면 부족 및 내수배제 불량 등이 주요 원인이지만 하천 내 주요 수공구조물인 교량이나 보 등에 의한 홍수위 상승으로 발생한다. 특히, 교량은 도로의 교통기능에 중점을 둔 설계와 시공으로 수리학적으로 매우 불리한 위치에 건설되기도 하며 기존 교량폭의 확장이나 인접한 위치에 다른 교량들을 추가로 건설하여 하천의 한정된 통수단면적이 점차적으로 감소하는 등 하천관리에 많은 어려움이 가중되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 FLUMEN 모형을 이용하여 교량이 홍수위 상승 및 홍수범람에 미치는 영향과 이에 따른 제외지 침수면적의 변화를 파악하였다. 감천과 직지사천이 합류되는 구간을 대상으로 지형자료는 총 7곳의 교량을 고려하여 구축한 후 교량 유 무에 따른 조건별 부정류 모의를 실시하였다. 모형의 적용 결과 교량 건설에 따른 하폭 감소율은 김천철교 지점에서 10.92%로 가장 컸으며, 수위는 김천대교 지점에서 0.15m로 가장 크게 상승하였다. 또한 경부고속국도 주변의 수위는 경부고속철도 교량의 신설로 인해 140%까지 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 홍수범람 모의 결과 교량 건설 전과 후에 제방 월류에 의한 침수가 발생하였고 교량 건설 후 범람면적과 침수심이 증가하였으며, 홍수범람의 주원인은 하천의 통수단면적이 작기 때문으로 나타났다.

An Experimental Study on Stone Columns Foundations (석재기둥 기초의 실험적 연구)

  • This paper was focused on the design and construction of stone columns as a method of reinforcements in slightly soft clay or loose silty sand overlying the firm strata. It was intended to find out the effects of soil improvement by field tests in Kwangmyoung Haan Site by comparing the test results performed before and after the installation of stone columns . The results of this experimental study are as follows : the hearing capacity was increased by 3.33 times and the SPT N -valued was increased by 3.9 times by installing the stone columns : the stone column method can cut down the construction cost almost 35% compared to the precast concrete pile method in economic viewpoints.

Behavior Characteristics of Poorly-Compacted Raised Reservoir Levee with Water Level Raising (다짐시공이 불량한 증고 저수지 제체의 수위상승시 거동)

  • This study aims to evaluate the behavior of poorly-compacted raised reservoir levee with water level raising by using centrifugal model test. From the test results, it seems that the hydraulic fracturing at the core of the raised reservoir levee with low degree of compaction possibly occurs due to the drastical increase of pore water pressure by water level raising. Additionally, the continuous infiltration may induce crack and/or sinkhole on the surface of the poorly-compacted raised reservoir levee owing to the increase of the subsidences at the crown and the front side of that. Therefore, reasonable construction management for the compaction of the raised reservoir levee is needed.

  • This paper presents a case history of a geosynthetics-reinforced segmental retaining wall, which collapsed during a sever rainfall immediately after the completion of the wall construction. In an attempt to identify possible causes for the collapse, a comprehensive investigation was carried out including physical and strength tests on the backfill, stability analyses on the as-built design based on the current design approaches, and slope stability analyses with pore pressure consideration. The investigation revealed that the inappropriate as-built design and the bad-quality backfill were mainly responsible for the collapse. This paper describes the site condition including wall design, details of the results of investigation and finally, lessons learned. Practical significance of the findings from this study is also discussed.

  • 많은 주거용 및 상업용 건물에서 콘크리트 구조물이 사용되고 있는데 콘크리트 슬래브 아래의 기초부분에 공동이 생기는 경우가 종종 발견되었다. 이 현상은 진동하중, 반복되는 충격, 흙의 유실, 혹은 불량시공 등 여러가지 이유에 의해 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 현상은 구조물의 지지력을 저하시키고 결국 수명을 단축시키는 원인이 되므로 이러한 문제는 일찍 발견되고 조치가 취해질수록 구조물의 수명을 연장시킬 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 공동이 슬래브 아래에서 형성되고 커져가는 과정을 모니터할 수 있으면 현재 상태에서 지지력을 결정하고 또한 앞으로 남은 수명을 예측함으로써 적절한 유지보수계획을 세우는 데에 큰 도움이 될 것이다. 이 연구에서는 음파와 응력파, 특히 표면파가 슬래브 아래의 공동을 찾아내는데 이용되었고 두 가지 방법의 효과가 상호 비교되었다. 두개의 콘크리트 슬래브를 만들어 이용했는데 하나는 미리 공동이 만들어져 있었고 다른 하나에는 공동이 없었다. 공동이 없던 슬래브는 처음 손상안된 상태에서 실험을 한 후 나중에 하부에 공동을 만들어 다시 실험하였다. 실험결과와 실제 공동의 위치가 잘 일치되는 것으로 나타났다. 응력파를 이용하는 방법과 음파를 이용하는 방법사이의 장단점이 비교검토되었고 실험의 표준방법과 결과에 대한 일반적인 기준이 확립되어야 하는 필요성에 대해서도 설명되었다.

A Study on the Effect of Water Level and Inundation Period on the Plant Coverage of Revegetation Methods of Stream Bank in the Coastal Reclaimed Land - Focus on a Case of the Test-bed of the Simgok Stream in Incheon - (해안매립지 하천의 수위 및 침수기간이 저수하안 식생공법의 식생피도에 미치는 영향 - 인천광역시 심곡천 실험구의 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • The study performed the implementation monitoring of the revegetation methods applied to the test-bed of Simgok Stream in Incheon to identify the effect of water level and inundation period on the vegetation coverage of the stream bank revegetation methods. The categories of monitoring included the plant species and plant coverage for each method, physicochemical property of soil, water level and water quality. The result of monitoring revealed that plant growth conditions of all revegetation methods of each stream bank were good in the first survey as of May 2010. However, in the second survey of June 2011 when inundation period was less than a week, plant growth conditions and coverage of revegetation methods were partially bad. In the third survey as of August 2011 when inundation period was longest as 8 weeks during survey period, most vegetations did not survive except for Phragmites communis. But plant species number and plant coverage were increased gradually in the forth survey as of October 2011 when inundation period was less than 2 weeks so water level decreased more than that of third survey. Accordingly, the correlation analysis among number of plant species and plant coverage on stream bank, which applied revegetation method, water level and inundation period was performed for quantitative analysis. The result revealed that number of plant species and plant coverage has a negative correlation with water level and inundation period, but inundation period had higher correlation with plant occurrence than water level.
