Fuel consumption effects of transportation improvement options using mesoscopic traffic simulator (메조모형 시뮬레이터를 이용한 교통운영방식의 연료소모량 분석)

  • To evaluate the effects of transportation system operation, usually measures of effectiveness(MOE) such as travel time, space mean speed, stop/delay ratio have been used. But, energy consumption as well as the existing MOE in transportation receives more attention as an alternative MOE in transportation operation. The purpose of this study is a development of procedure, which could measure the relative energy consumption for each alternative and compare the results. A mesoscopic simulator called INTEGRATION is used to evaluate the operation of high occupancy vehicle lane, signal optimization, lane expansion, and the application of ITS. Among those, the application of ITS shows the greatest effectiveness in energy reduction, and then lane expansion, signal optimization, and the operation of high occupancy vehicle lane in the order named. Because we don't consider the characteristics of vehicle class, Potential demand and the simulation time is just for an hour. it is recommended that a procedure for precise economic analysis and an improvement in methodology are needed in the future for the expanded application of this study.

Developed of Smart Phone Charge System and Data Analysis for Efficient Solar Module Arrangement (효율적인 태양광 모듈 배치를 위한 데이터 분석 및 스마트폰 충전 시스템 개발)

  • Recently, solar module is installed in crowded areas to offers services so that people can charge their smartphones or tablets. However, the burden in terms of cost is high to install in areas where utilization ratio is low and installation is difficult in limited spaces. In this paper, a system for collecting and providing the optical power is proposed from the analysis about the person that receives service in each area using the real-time data provided by the state and collected from the actual environment as well as considering the waiting time and the solar charging time in different environments. As a result, This study shows that charge was not delayed since collecting power exceeds charging power. Smartphone was fully charged in ninety-five minutes. we confirmed that with one smartphone, it can be charged a approximately fifty percent of the battery in between ten to twenty minutes, with multiple units they can be charged a approximately twenty percent of the battery in between ten to twenty minutes.

Spatial - Frequency Analysis of time-varying Coherence using ERP signals for attentional visual stimulus (시각 자극의 집중에 따른 시간 변화에 대한 뇌 유발전위의 공간 - 주파수간 상관 변화 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed spatial-frequency relationship related brain function for change of the time during attentional visual stimulus through the analysis of Coherence. With experimentation about ERP(Event Related Potential)data, it revealed that change of the phase synchronization between different scalp locations at ${\theta}$, ${\alpha}$ band. ERP between left and right frontal lobes, between the frontal and central lobes showed the phase synchronization at the P100, N200, ERP between the frontal and occipital lobes showed the phase synchronization at the P300 related information of visual stimulus. Compared to STFT using the window of a fixed length, CWT is able to multi-resolution analysis with the adjustment of parameters of mother wavelet. Thus, coherence results with CWT was found to be effective for analysis of time-varying spatial-frequency relationship in ERP. The phase synchronization for inattentional visual stimulus was not observed.

Preparation and Characterizations of Various Chitosan from Chitin (Chitin으로부터 다양한 chitosan의 제조와 특성)

  • Chitin is known as biodegradable natural polymer. But, in spite of various application of chitin from waste marine sources, commercial use of chitin has been limited due to highly resistance to chemicals and the absense of proper solvents. Therefore, we studied that another viscosity chitosan were prepared from chitin which were deacetylated under various concentration of NaOH solution, reaction time and temperature by the application of Mirna's method. The major parameters for these manufacturing methods were found to be concentration of alkali solution, reaction time and temperature etc. Besides, we studied that various chitosan derivatives were prepared from chitin by crosslinkage with epichlorohydrin and 1,3-dichloropropanol. The effects of these parameters on another viscosity(molecular weight) chitosan and crosslinked chitosan dervatives were investigated by various analysis apparatus. SEM analysis showed that both chitin and chitosan had a particle shaped morphology and another molecular weight chitosan according to the particle size was much smaller than that of chitin.

Fast Mode Decision Algorithm Using Efficient Block Skip Techniques for H.264 P Slices (효율적인 블록 스킵 기술들을 이용한 H.264에서의 고속 모드 결정 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a fast algorithm that can reduce the complexity for inter mode decision of the H.264 encoder. The main idea consists of two techniques. The first one is the technique early terminating mode decision process. We focused on the skip and $16{\times}16$ mode because these modes occupies the largest portion in most of sequences. The second one is the technique skipping unnecessary $8{\times}8$ modes. The time consumption caused by the $8{\times}8$ mode is very considerable. Therefore if we can extract the unnecessary $8{\times}8$ mode calculation well, a large amount of time can be saved in total encoding process. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve up to 43% speed up ratio with insignificant PSNR loss. The increase of total bits encoded is also not noticeable.

Analyzing the Influence of Policy Measures for Growth Management Plan (성장관리방안 정책수단의 영향력 분석)

  • This study examined the effectiveness of policy measures in a growth management plan by analyzing empirically the influence of regulations and incentives in a non-urban growth management plan of Sejong City using the binomial logistic model. The parcel unit data related development location of Sejong City from 2012 to 2017 was used in the model. The analysis showed that time regulation in the growth management plan has a negative (-) impact on the spread of development, which means it is effective in slowing urban sprawl by lowering the profits of developers. The time regulation applied in Sejong City needs to be used actively in other cities in Korea to prevent urban sprawl. Nevertheless, floor ratio incentives had no influence in inducing development within the growth management area, which means a new incentive policy to meet the local characteristics is needed to strengthen the effectiveness of the growth management plan. This study is meaningful because it attempted an empirical analysis of the effects of the growth management plan at The National Territory Act, and this study could encourage further studies.

Study on the Drivers' Response Characteristics Using Spectral Analysis of Car Following Data (차량 추종자료의 파동해석을 통한 운전자 반응 특성 연구)

  • This paper developed a method analyze drivers' response characteristics using spectral analysis with car following data. Cross-correlation function and cross spectrum are produced by Fourier transform from speed fluctuations of leading vehicle and following vehicle during the designated time ${\tau}$. Based on the analysis data, a process to calculate the reaction time and stimulus-adaption index of following vehicle was developed and 170 cases of field data was applied. It was reported average of 0.654 and 2.091 seconds of stimulus-adaption index and reaction time respectively. In conclusion, the developed indexes might contribute to enhance vehicle control of autonomous vehicle more efficient and safer.

Biocompatibility of Biodegradable Films by Natural Polymers (천연고분자 분해성 필름의 생체적합성 연구)

  • Recently there has been an explosion of interest in the topic of biodegradable polymers for medical applications. In this study, films were prepared by solution casting method using natural polymers (xanthan, locust bean, guar gum, chitosan and algin) as biomaterials. Biocompatibility of films prepared from natural polymer as a skin implant was evaluated. These biodegradable films were subcutaneously implanted in the back of rats and their biodegradability was investigated by the evaluation of changes in structure, film weight and hematology as a function of time for the biotransformation. The result of rats test showed that locust bean and guar gum induced some suspects of non-biocompatibility in the tissue by foreign body reaction 24 and 48 hrs after implantation. These results showed the potential of partial biodegradable films prepared from natural polymer for ideal skin biomaterials at short period.

Ultrasonic Nondestructive On-Site Evaluation of Decks in-Service (초음파 비파괴시험법을 이용한 데크재의 현장평가)

  • The ultrasonic nondestructive test (NDT) was applied to deck in-service to inspect and evaluate the performance of decking materials using ultrasonic pulse velocity. First, the measuring method between direct and indirect method according to transducer arrangement was studied. Second, the ultrasonic pulse velocity of decks in-service was compared with the passage of time. Finally, the change of ultrasonic pulse velocity was evaluated to expect service life of decking materials. The results of comparison between direct and indirect method was statistically insignificant and the ratio of direct to indirect method was 1.02. 1.05 respectively. The ultrasonic pulse velocity of decks in-service was decreased as the passage of time and the linear relationship in the ultrasonic pulse velocity to passage of time was found. From the results, The ultrasonic NDT will be helpful as an efficient method of on-site management of decks in-service.

  • Supersonic/Hypersonic wind tunnel is a facility which is intended to test and to observe the physical phenomena around a model by creating supersonic flow in the test section. In designing an airplane, the wind tunnel test is demanded to analyzing aerodynamic characteristics of the model without making a prototype. In this research, the model aerodynamic facility(MAF) is modified for the purpose of increasing running time and its functionality. New pneumatic valves for remote control was installed for safety requirement, and new air tanks was installed on MAF as well. A pipe system is also modified to use those new valves and tanks, and the ceiling and side glasses of the test section are switched to ones with the larger surface area. After the MAF modification, a test is performed at Mach 2, 3 and 4. In this test, shadow graph technique, one of the flow visualization methods, is used to visualize supersonic flow field. The pressure in the settling chamber and working section at Mach 2, 3 and 4 was measured in each case. As a result, the possible model size and running time are obtained.
