Analytical and Experimental Studies on Splice Sleeves for SD500 Rebars (SD500 철근용 충전식 슬리브 철근이음에 대한 해석 및 실험적 연구)

  • Splice sleeves for HD25 and HD32 rebars with yield strength 500 MPa were studied experimentally and analytically. The shapes of sleeve was examined with nonlinear finite element analyses. A total of 18 specimens were tested with test variables of rebar types, sleeve lengths, mortar compressive strengths, and rebar development lengths. Three identical specimens per each variable were tested in order to prevent any test errors. After tests, numerical studies with a nonlinear finite element method were conducted to evaluate the test results. Experimental studies with 18 specimens showed that the sleeves of this study satisfies the code requirement. It was found that the strength of mortar and the bar development length within the sleeves did not affect to the load-carrying capacity of sleeves.

The analysis of sleeve monopole antenna by lumped-element equivalent circuit (집중정수 등가회로에 의한 슬리브 모노폴 안테나의 해석)

  • This paper discribes an analysis for the sleeve monopole antenna with single sleeve. The structure of the proposed antenna is very simple. Therefore, it is very economical in terms of manufacturing and installation which makes it convenient for either portable or mobile use by making an up-and-down type antenna. In the method of analysis, instead of the complex electro- magneticapproach, we used a lumped element equivalent circuit derived from the information about the electrical dimensions and the resonance characteristics of the antenna. An error between a resonant frequency by lumped-element circuit analysis of the proposed antenna and a measured one by an experiment is below 0.9%. It is shown that the theoretical and experiment results are little different.

Performance Evaluation of Post-installed Anchor according to Sleeve Length and Header Length (슬리브 및 헤드 길이에 따른 후설치 앵커의 인발성능평가)

  • This study presents post-installed anchors whose heads and extension sleeves are improved. The optimal lengths of the extension sleeves and headers were analytically determined by simulations. As a result of analysis using Finite element method (FEM), 9.0mm and 3.0mm were determined as the optimal lengths of sleeves and headers respectively. In pull-out tests using the improved post-installed anchors, all specimens satisfied the coefficient of variation of 15%. Comparing the pull-out strengths of existing anchors and the improved anchors, it was increased by 1.25 times for anchors embedded with a depth of 50mm, and 1.54 times for 70mm. In the cases of high-strength concrete, the strengths were increased by 1.28 and 1.55 times for 50mm and 70mm respectively. Moreover, as a result of shear tests, the improved anchors perform the greater strength of 1.38 times than the existing anchors.

  • 본 논문은 모터의 회전자를 연속적으로 주조하기 위한 주형 개발을 위해 주조 유동해석를 통해 그 결과를 반영하였다. 주형을 제작하고, 성형한 결과로 수평형은 슬리브가 수평구조이고, 고속으로 작동하면서 공기와 기타 가스빼기가 원활하지 않음에 제품 성형률이 매우 떨어짐을 알 수 있었다. 현재 이를 해결하기 작업자들의 경험에 많이 의지하고 있다. 수직형은 슬리브 구조가 수직으로 되어있어 슬리브가 고속으로 작동할 때, 수평형과 달리 용액이 층류형태로 유지되면서 공기나 기타 가스발생이 매우 적어 안정된 주물제품이 성형됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 지상파 UHF 휴대용 슬리브 안테나를 설계 제작하였다. 이 안테나는 차량 네비게이션장치에 들어가는 지상파 UHF TV 수신을 위한 안테나이다. 기존 모노폴 형태가 갖는 단점을 제거하고 성능 향상을 위해 세트 external 안테나로, 필요시에 목걸이형으로 부착이 가능한 구조를 가지고 있다. 동축선을 이용하여 슬리브 다이폴 안테나로 설계함으로써 안테나 입장에서 볼 때 접지가 부족한 문제를 해결하였다. 제작 측정한 결과 UHF 대역에서 VSWR 2:1 이하의 특성을 만족하였다.

Confining Effect of Mortar Grouted Splice Sleeve on Reinforcing Bar (모르타르 충전식 철근이음과 구속효과)

  • The grouted splice steeve has been applied widely due to its superior construction efficiency, such as the unnecessity of post concrete and the large allowable limit to the arrangement of reinforcing bars. However, studies on grout-filled splice steeve still have not been sufficiently peformed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the confining effect of mortar grouted splice sleeve on reinforcing bar, known to strengthen the bond capacity between grout mortar and reinforcing bar. To accomplish this objective, totally 6 full-sized specimens were made and tested under monotonic loading. Each specimens were equipped with strain gauges at the 12 location of sleeve and reinforcing bar. The experimental variables adopted in this study are embedment length and size of reinforcing bars. Following conclusions are obtained; 1) Under ultimate strength condition, the confining pressure of grouted splice sleeve calculated from measured tangential and axial strain of the sleeve is over $200{\sim}300kgf/{cm}^2$ at any location of sleeve and improved with reduction in embedment length of reinforcing bar. 2) Untrauer and Henry's equation which describe bond strength of mortar as a function of its compressive strength and confining pressure, predicted the measured bond capacity of this test within the 5% limits.

A Study on the Equations for Load Carrying Capacities of Concrete Filled tubular Square Column-to-Beam Connections with Combined Cross Diaphragm and Sleeves (복합십자형 CFT 기둥-보 접합부의 내력식에 관한 연구)

  • The objective of this study is to clarify the structural features of members consisting of a connection, as part of the previous study on the CFT column-to-beam tensile connection with a combined cross diaphragm. This connection has the following merits: it evenly distributes the stress on the beam flange and the diaphragm and reduces the stress concentration by improving the stress transfer route and restraining the abrupt deformation of the diaphragm. Finite element analysis was performed to find out the stress transfer through the sleeve, which is an important member of the connection with a combined cross diaphragm. The length and thickness of the sleeve were used as variables for the analysis. The analysis results showed that the length and thickness of the sleeve did not influence the capacity of the connection and played the role of a medium for the transfer of the stress from the diaphragm to the filled concrete. It was proposed that the appropriate length of the sleeve have the same value as the diameter of the sleeve and that the appropriate ratio of the sleeve diameter to the sleeve thickness be 20. Two equations for the evaluation of the load carrying the capacity of the connection were also proposed through the modification of the evaluation equation suggested in the previous study.

  • In Korea, the mountainous area occupies more than 70% of the whole country, cutting of earth slope that cuts a part of the ground surface is widely used when building infrastructures such as road, railroad, and industrial complex construction. In recent years, regulations on environmental damage have become more strict, and various methods have been developed and applied. Among them, Concrete-Panel Retaining Wall technique is actively applied. Concrete-Panel Retaining Wall is a method to resist horizontal earth pressure by forming a wall by attaching a precast retaining wall to the front of the support material and increasing the shear strength of the disk through reinforcement of the support material. Soil nailing, earth bolt, and ground anchor are used as support material. Among them, ground anchor is a more aggressive reinforcement type that introduces tensile load in advance to the steel wire, and a large concentrated load acts on the front panel. This concentrated load is a factor that creates cracks in the concrete panel and reduces the durability of the retaining wall itself. In this study, steel pipe sleeves and reinforcements were purchased at the anchorage of the panel to prevent cracks, and by applying bumpy shear keys to the end of the panel, the weakness of the individual behavior of the existing grout anchors was improved. The problem of degraded landscape by exposure to front concrete of retaining wall and protrusion of anchorage was solved by the production of natural stone patterns and the construction of sections that do not protrude the anchorage. In order to verify the effectiveness of anti-crack sleeves and reinforcements used in the null, indoor testing and three-dimensional numerical analysis have been performed, and the use of steel pipe sleeves and reinforcements has demonstrated the overall strength increase and crack suppression effect of panels.
