Effect of Water Temperature on Heat Transfer Characteristic of Spray Cooling on Hot Steel Plate (냉각수온 효과에 따른 고온 강판의 스프레이 냉각 열전달 특성 연구)

  • Water spray cooling is a significant technology for cooling of materials from high-temperature up to $900^{\circ}C$. The effects of cooling water temperature on spray cooling are mainly provided for hot steel plate cooling applications in this study. The heat flux measurements are introduced by a novel experimental technique that has a function of heat flux gauge in which test block assemblies are used to measure the heat flux distribution on the surface. The spray is produced by a fullcone nozzle and experiments are performed at fixed water impact density of G and fixed nozzle-totarget spacing. The results show that effects of water temperature on forced boiling heat transfer characteristics are presented for five different water temperatures between 5 to $45^{\circ}C$. The local heat flux curves and heat transfer coefficients are also provided to a benchmark data for the actual spray cooling of hot steel plate cooling applications.

  • 방제 작업은 병해충을 줄여 농산물의 품질과 생산량을 높이기 위한 필수 작업이다. 하지만 방제 작업은 고온 다습한 환경에서 작업하여 고된 작업 강도와 농민의 농약 중독 문제, 고령화 여성화로 인한 농가 일손 부족 문제로 농촌에서는 기피하고 있는 작업 중 하나이다. 이러한 점을 보완하기 위해 동력 살포기와 같은 기계를 이용하여 살포 작업을 실시하고 있으며, 스피드 스프레이어의 경우 2015년 기준 2,073 대가 농가에 공급되어졌다. 스피드 스프레이어를 사용하는 농가는 점차 증가하고 있으나, 현재 스피드 스프레이어의 살포 방식의 경우 농약을 다량 살포함으로써, 농약의 낭비, 환경오염의 문제점이 나타나고 있다. 이러한 점을 보완하기 위해 최근에는 방제 작업의 방식이 붐을 이용한 방제 작업으로 바뀌어가고 있는 추세이다. 붐 방제기의 경우 붐에 노즐을 배치하여 작물에 근접한 위치에서 농약을 정밀 살포하며, 스피드 스프레이어와 다르게 농약의 낭비를 줄일 수 있으며, 농약의 살포량을 제어하기 쉬운 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 트랙터 부착형 붐 방제기가 아닌 스피드 스프레이어를 개선한 붐식 스피드 스프레이어를 개발하기 위하여 현재 사용되고 있는 붐 방제기의 연구 동향 및 제품을 소개하고 개발에 필요한 기초 자료로 활용하고자 한다. 기존의 붐 방제기는 트랙터에 부착하는 형태로 개발되어졌으며 트랙터의 부착위치에 따라 전륜, 후륜형으로 나뉘고, 작물의 크기에 따라서 붐의 높이 및 붐의 각도를 조절하는 구조로 제작하여 사용되고 있다.

An Experimental Study of Spray Nozzle Desalination Facility (담수화 설비 스프레이 노즐에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Experimental research was undertaken to develop a domestic spray nozzle used on equipment for desalination. First, we made a test set-up in order to confirm nozzle efficiency of spray and distribution under different pressure conditions. Then, we found a maximum spray condition after verifying reliability of this facility. An optimum arrangement of the nozzle, based on the test result, was made using CATIA V5 and EXCEL.

  • This study was carried out to design the spray nozzle tip for airless spray coating. Airless spray coating is the process of coating an object with a liquid spray of paint or other fluid. The nozzle tip controls the fluid flow rate and creates back pressure in the system. The nozzle tip also defines the spray pattern by the size and shape of the orifice. The spray pattern of nozzle tip was investigated numerically using ANSYS CFX ver. 14.0. It was observed that performance result of designed nozzle tip was correspond well, compared with that of GARCO nozzle tip.

Fabrication of anti-reflection thin film by using sol-gel hybrid solution (Sol-gel 하이브리드 용액을 이용한 반사방지막 제조)

  • Anti-reflection (AR) thin films were fabricated on a glass substrate by using an ultrasonic spray. Glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) were used to synthesize a sol-gel hybrid coating solution. The moving speed of spray nozzle was changed from 15~25 mm/s to control the coating thickness of AR thin film. As the moving speed of spray nozzle increased, the thickness of AR thin film decreased from 138 nm to 86 nm. When the AR thin film was fabricated by nozzle moving speed of 20 mm/s, the refractive index and thickness of AR thin film was measured to be 1.31 and 104 nm, respectively. The average reflectance and transmittance of AR thin film coating glass was measured to be 0.75 % and 94 %, respectively into the visible light range of 380~780 nm.

  • The experimental study of thermal stress in the solid rocket engine nozzle with two different materials, SCM-440 and STS-630, was evaluated. SCM-440 has lager temperature increasing rate and higher temperature at the nozzle expansion region than STS-630. Thermal barrier efficiency and endurance of Zirconia coating were evaluated after making two more nozzles coated by Zirconica. Both coated materials showed about 70 percent higher thermal barrier efficiency than uncoated nozzles. Therefore, Zirconia coating using plasma spray method was useful in thermal safety at supersonic nozzle.

  • 선박으로부터 배기오염에 대한 국내의 관련 규제들이 강화되면서 관련 기술 개발이 급격하게 이뤄지고 있다. 그 중 탱커선의 화물탱크로부터 배출되는 유중기를 대기중으로 방출하지 않고 회수할 수 있는 설비 관련기술이 개발되고 있다. 회수설비 중 포함되는 스크러버는 가스 속의 부유 고액 미립자를 액을 이용하여 포집하는 장치로서, 스프레이 노즐을 통해 액을 분사하며, 일반적으로 물을 사용한다. 고효율 스크러버 설계기술 개발을 위해 스크러버용 노즐의 성능해석과 유동가시화 실험을 통한 내부유동 특성을 연구하였다.

  • The chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) process combines the chemical effect of slurry with the mechanical effect of abrasive (slurry)-wafer-pads The slurry delivery system has a notable effect on polishing results, because the slurry distribution is changed by the supply method. Thus, the investigation of slurry pumps and nozzles with regard to the slurry delivery system becomes important. This paper investigated the effect of a centrifugal slurry pump on a spray nozzle system in terms of uniform slurry supply under a rotating copper (Cu) wafer, based on experimental results and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). In conventional tools, the slurry is unevenly and discontinuously supplied to the pad, due to a pulsed flow caused by the peristaltic pump and distributed in a narrow area by the tube nozzle. Adopting the proposed slurry delivery system provides a higher uniformity and lowered shear stress than usual methods. Therefore, the newly developed slurry delivery system can improve the CMP performance.
