  • This paper examines the effect of star-entertainer imitation on female high school students in terms of their appearance management activities such as school uniform modification behaviors, hair style care behaviors, and make-up behaviors. For this research, data of 379 female high school students living in Jeollabuk-do was analyzed through reliability analysis, factorial analysis, cluster analysis, one-way analysis of variance, and cross-tabulation analysis. In the research, based on the type of star-entertainer imitation, the female high school students were divided into three categories: active followers, psychological followers, and passive followers. The research showed that active followers, who exhibited imitation behavior most frequently and had the highest imitation desire, were most frequently involved in school uniform modification. Inclined to imitate the school uniform styles of star-entertainers in soap operas, they modified their school uniforms. The active followers were also enthusiastic about hair care, were well aware of trendy hair styles, and demonstrated a fondness for star-entertainer hair styles. In addition, they were actively involved in make-up activities. They put on basic make-up everyday and exhibited a desire to learn about make-up styles. However, passive followers, who showed the least frequent imitation behavior and the lowest imitation desire, were not as keenly involved in school uniform modification behaviors, hair style care behaviors, or make-up behaviors. The study concludes that by providing teenagers with systematic education on desirable mass media and educating them on proper behavior, an effective educational tool for guidance on clothing habits can be derived.

  • This study tried to develop a lifestyle redesign program that can be applied to college students. For program development, the Delphi research method was implemented with 8 experts. Based on previous studies on lifestyle and time use, the first Delphi survey investigated the prioritization of occupations through evaluation instruments, lifestyle types, and living time survey tables. In the second Delphi survey, it was constructed based on the opinions of experts, and when the content validity ratio was low, it was reconstructed by modifying and supplementing it. In the third Delphi survey, while maintaining the framework of the secondary content, the experts' own responses from the second time and the second average score with other experts were presented together. As a result of this study, a program with an average score of 3.88~4.00, a content validity ratio of 1.00, and a convergence of 0.00 was finally derived. In the lifestyle redesign program for college students, the first step of the pre-intervention evaluation is to identify the lifestyle type, apply evaluation tools, and select occupations. In the second step, the lifestyle is redesigned by the intervention execution, and the facilitator intervenes to help college students do well their tasks. The program was developed by encouraging them to practice, checking the lifestyle type change as a result of the intervention in step 3, applying evaluation instruments after the intervention, and ending the program in the last step. This study provided a rationale for using lifestyle redesign program as an intervention to change their occupational performance patterns in order to successfully carry out the life they want.

Methods : This cross-sectional study was conducted in South Korea. Community-dwelling older adults (n=184) above the age of 65 years were surveyed from April 2019 to May 2019. This study used latent profile analysis to examine the subgroups. Chi-squared (χ2) and multinomial logistic regression measures were then used to analyze individual characteristics and influencing factors. Results : The pattern of physical activity which is one of the lifestyle domains in elderly was categorized into three types: 'passive exercise type (31.1%)', 'low intensity exercise type (54.5%)', and 'balanced exercise type(14.5%)'. Activity participation was divided into three patterns: 'inactive type (12%)', 'self-management type (61%)', and 'balanced activity participation type (27%)'. In terms of nutrition, there were only two groups: 'overall malnutrition type (13.5%)' and 'balanced nutrition type (86.5%)'. Furthermore, as a result of the multinomial logistic regression analysis to understand the effects of lifestyle types on the health and quality of life of the elderly, it was confirmed that the health and quality of life were higher in those following an active and balanced lifestyle. In addition, gender, education level and residential area were analyzed as predictive factors. Conclusion : The health and quality of life of the elderly can be improved when they have balanced lifestyle. Therefore, an empirical and policy intervention strategy should be developed and implemented to enhance the health and quality of life of the elderly.
