  • The manufacturing method of the pillar is one of the main process where it is used in vacuum glazing and semi-conductor display field. Pillar can be arranged by screen printing method. However it may unable to spread all pattern of metal mask according to the ingredient of the mixture. In addition, spreaded mixture doesn't maintain the original shape according to the viscosity. In this research, the pillar tried to be arranged through the screen printing by using the inorganic compound of the alumina and silica base. This study suggested a method in which it can decrease the test frequency and design the composition of the vacuum glass pillar by using the mixture design.

Metamaterial Based Absorber for Wearable Applications (의복용 메타물질 흡수체)

  • In this paper, we propose a textile metamaterial absorber that using screen printing technology. A unit cell of the proposed absorber is motivated from the commercial Chanel logo for wearable applications. The complex impedance of the designed unit cell is analyzed by full-wave simulation. To verify its performance, the proposed metamaterial absorber is fabricated where the silver conductive ink is screen printed on an ordinary textile. From experimental results, the absorptivity of the proposed absorber is around 93 % at 10.8 GHz under normal incidence.

Deformation Analysis of a Metal Mask for the Screen Printing of Micro Bumps (스크린 인쇄용 미세 범프 금속마스크의 변형특성 해석)

  • Screen printing is a printing method that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil by transferring ink or other printable materials in order to form an image onto a substrate. Recently, the screen printing method has applied to micro-electronic packaging by using solder paste as a printable material. For the screen printing of solder paste, metal masks containing a number of micro-holes are used as a stencil material. The metal mask undergoes deformation when it is installed in the screen printing machine, which results in the deformation of micro-holes. In the present study, finite element (FE) analysis was performed to predict the amount of deformation of a metal mask. For an efficient calculation of the micro-holes of the metal mask, the sub-domain analysis method was applied to perform FE analyses connecting the global domain (the metal mask) and the local domain (micro-holes). The FE analyses were then performed to evaluate the effects of slot designs on the deformation characteristics, from which more uniform and adjustable deformation of the metal mask can be obtained.

  • Photoimageable thick film technology is a new technology in that the lithography process such as exposure and development is applied to the conventional thick film process. Line resolution of 25 $\mu\textrm{m}$ width and 25 $\mu\textrm{m}$ space could be obtained by laminating green sheet, printing photoimageable Ag paste, exposing the test patterns, developing, and co-firing. In case of using the alumina substrate, 20 $\mu\textrm{m}$ fine line could be also obtained by similar process. Test results showed that exposing power density and developing time were the most important processing parameters for the fine line formation. Microstrip and series gap resonators with well-defined line morphology and good transmission characteristics in high frequency were formed by this new technology, and thereby dielectric constant and loss of test substrate were calculated.

A Study on the Characteristics of Low Temperature Calcined Phosphor Paste (저온소성 형광체 페이스트의 특성 연구)

  • In this study we have manufactured and characterized the low temperature calcined phosphor paste that can be used as a flat light source for LCD BLU. For the phosphor paste, the low temperature calcined acryl resin was used as the binder. From the result of thermal decomposition measurement, residual carbonaceous materials was found to be less than 0.1 wt% at $400^{\circ}C$. A flat light source device that was made by screen printing using the manufactured paste showed a near 100% luminous efficiency compared to the luminance of the phosphor.

Effects of the Rheological Properties of UV Cured Acrylic Pressure Sensitive Adhesive with Nano-particles on the Silk Screen Printing and Adhesion (실크 스크린 인쇄 및 점착력에 나노 입자가 포함된 UV 경화형 아크릴계 감압 점착제의 유변학적 특성)

  • For application to display module junction process, the silk screen printing based on UV curable acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive(PSA) with silica nano-particles and the rheological properties were studied to investigate the effect on printability and adhesion. The monomers for PSA were based on 2-ethylhexyl acrylate(2-EHA) and acrylic acid(AA) 93:7, butyl acylate(BA), 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate(2-HEA) and tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate(THFA) were added. Additionally, hydrophobic and hydrophilic nano-particles AEROSIL R974 and AEROSIL 200 were added, respectively. When the ratio of nano-particle was used above 4 or 7 phr, G' and ${\eta}^*$ were increased significantly. When the ratio of AEROSIL 200 was used above 7 phr, the penetration property was decreased during the silk screen printing. We found that the adhesion was decreased with increasing the nano-particle content, and it was decreased in the case of the hydrophilic nano-particle AEROSIL 200.

  • A inorganic powder EL lamp was made by screen printing technique with phosphor ink and dielectric ink. The thickness change of a phosphor ink layer and a dielectric ink layer were not influenced on dielectric content, but rely on phosphor size and vehicle. Once finishing screen printing technique with phosphor ink and dielectric ink, and its surface has been printed again before not drying of phosphor ink and dielectric ink. Then phosphor ink and dielectric ink were not transferred. The electric capacity of inorganic powder EL lamp was more influenced on dielectric content than the thickness of dielectric ink layer, and it was more dependent on the thickness of phosphor ink layer than the thickness of dielectric ink layer.

  • Cathode ray tubes (CRT) are the most common electronic display in use in information technology. The CRT consists of an electron gun, electrostatic or magnetic fields to direct the electron beam, and a phosphor screen. When the electron beam strikes the phosphor screen, the phosphor generates light. The phosphor screen has formed by precipitation method, electro-forming and centrifuge method. The high quality product was achieved by electro-forming or centrifuge method. Now applying method is electro-forming used with phosphor and Eh(isopropyl alcohol). Now applying method has been much consumption of raw-material, dirty working environment, dangerous fire and require of high cost. New method to form phosphor surface of monochrome is required to improve this matter. This study was developed novel method to form the phosphor surface by heat-transfer method. This method have advantages of simple process, automatization, clean environment, saving raw material and saving running-cost.

  • Studies have been conducted to explore thermal imidization of polyamic acid. Aromatic polyimides are well recognized as high temperature linear polymers, and polyimide are used as structural materials, fibers, and adhesive. Two different kinds of polyimide were prepared by theimidization of polyamic acid which were synthesized from 2,2-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]- hexafluoropropane, 2,2-bis [4-(4-aminophenxy)phenyl] - hexamethylpropane and caprolactam and pyromelliti dianhydride under N-Methly-pyrrolidinone solvent. Polyamic acids were converted to polyimides containing imide bond by thermal imidization. The weight 50% loss temperatures of polyimide by TGA thermogram were recorded in the range of 700 ~ 720$^{\circ}$C in nitrogen gas. According, as a results, we conclued polyamic acid were cycliation after H2O molecule separationed, and this polyimide film could be used for Printed Circuit Boand.
