  • In recent years, in accordance with the rapidly increasing number of smartphone users, various social problems have started to occur. Examples of these problems are the overuse of smartphones and bad usage habits of smartphone users that can cause new social problems such as smartphone addiction and other smartphone related diseases. With the aim of preventing these social problems, this paper proposes a new smartphone addiction and disease prevention system. This system was developed by collecting and analyzing smartphone usage patterns. This proposed system analyzes the usage patterns and working hours of smartphone users in real time. If the detected smartphone usage patterns reach a dangerous level, the system will send warning messages to the user. This will enable users to recognize the unhealthy situation in advance by themselves. In addition, this solution could possibly prevent smartphone addiction and other smartphone related illness by preventing overuse and encouraging abstinence from using smartphones to the extent that it becomes harmful to the user.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of smart phone video educational program on disease-related knowledge and anxiety in patients with coronary artery disease. A quasi-experimental study used a non-equivalent control group pre-post test design. A smart phone video educational program was developed and offered to the experimental group. Participants were drawn from a inpatient ward. Twenty eight were selected for the experimental group while 30 were assigned to a control group. The results of this study were as followed: Disease-related knowledge in the experimental group showed a significant increase after smart phone video education compared with the control group. But the score of anxiety did not show a significant difference between experimental and control group. Thus, it is necessary to develop interventions considering both educational and psychological factors at the same time for the patients with coronary artery disease.

  • Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS) are cases of symptoms of the disease which are no reasons of cause of illness. The patients of MUS have been treated with cognitive behavioral therapy. Food Art Therapy (FAT) is subtype of Art Therapy which is kind of cognitive behavioral therapy. The patients of MUS will be satisfied by preparing and untaking foods. Through development of smart phone, the supply of smart phone in older populations have dramatically increased. But, the use of a smart phone or a very low. The importance of smart phone application development will been introduced wild vegetables of Korean traditional medical book for elderly patients in MUS. The patients will be increased confidence by making foods and intakeing food will be effective to prevent the disease.

  • This paper proposes a decision support system to recognizing retinal diseases. This paper uses a smartphone platform and cloud computing as the base of the system. A microscopic lens is attached int' the smartphone camera to capture the user retinal image for recognizing the user's retinal condition. An application is assembled in computer and then installed in to the smartphone. The application role is to connect between the system in smartphone and system in cloud, the application will send the retinal image to the cloud system to be classified. The paper uses OCFE (optimized classifier based on feature elimination) algorithm as the classifier. The retinal image is trained using combination of two ophthalmology databases DIARETDB1 v2.1 and STARE. Therefore, this system average accuracy is 88%, while the average error rate is 12%.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the factors influencing on the smartphone usage time according to the happiness perceived by adolescents. This study underwent the approval procedure for using the raw data of the 13th (2017) Adolescents' Health Behavior Online Survey through the homepage of Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and selected 54,603 persons of 12-18 age groups as subjects of the study. The analysis was performed after generating a complex sample plan file by assigning weights using the IBM SPSS 23.0 program. There were significant differences in general characteristics and physical & psychological characteristics according to the use of the smartphone in the happy group and the unhappy group (p<.05). And there was a statistically significant difference in factors affecting smartphone usage time between the group of adolescents who perceived as happy and the group who perceived themselves as unhappy. It is necessary to improve the quality of life by increasing the level of happiness through the correct use of smartphones among adolescents.

  • Human urine is a process of excreting waste products in the blood, and it is easy to collect and contains various substances. Urinalysis is used to check for diseases, health conditions, and urinary tract infections. There are three methods of urinalysis: physical property test, chemical test, and microscopic test, and chemical test results can be easily confirmed using urine test strips. A variety of items can be tested on the urine test strip, through which various diseases can be identified. Recently, with the spread of smart phones, research on reading urine test strips using smart phones is being conducted. There is a method of detecting and reading the color change of a urine test strip using a smartphone. This method uses the RGB values and the color difference formula to discriminate. However, there is a problem in that accuracy is lowered due to various environmental factors. This paper applies a deep learning model to solve this problem. In particular, color discrimination of a urine test strip is improved in a smartphone using a lightweight CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks) model. CNN is a useful model for image recognition and pattern finding, and a lightweight version is also available. Through this, it is possible to operate a deep learning model on a smartphone and extract accurate urine test results. Urine test strips were taken in various environments to prepare deep learning model training images, and a urine test service application was designed using MobileNet V3.

  • This study was conducted to assess the needs of smartphone application development for self care performance of 374 patients with chronic hepatitis B. The mean age of the subjects was 46.2 years. The patients obtained information about chronic hepatitis B from the internet (41.3%), nurses or doctors (23.8%), television (15.6%), and smartphones (6.2%). The reason that the information about hepatitis B didn't come from a smartphone were 'Lack of useful applications' (75.9%), 'Could not believe the information' (15.0). If the application is developed, subjects replied 'Frequently use' (59.9%), 'When needed' (33.2%). The desired contents were 'Knowledge of disease' (27.1%), 'Drug calender' (16.8%), 'Reference of information' (15.5%), 'Record of lab data' (14.6%). Ability to use the smartphone, depended on age and level of education, however the needs for the development of the smartphone application, there were not differences. Also, there were different desired contents of application, depended on age and level of education. Therefore, when developing smartphone applications for self care performance of chronic hepatitis B patients considering educational level and age, it could be widely utilized as a tool which can help to the self care performance of chronic hepatitis B patients.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of physical activity in the relationship between generalized anxiety disorder and overdependence on smartphones in adolescents. To find a way for solving the problems caused by the over-use of smartphones during adolescence, we tried to find the importance of a health promotion program through physical activities. For the purpose of the study, the 2020 Youth Health Behavior Survey data conducted by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were used as analysis data for this study. As a result of the study, firstly, generalized anxiety disorder has a negative (-) relationship with physical activity, and physical activity also has a negative (-) relationship with overdependence on smartphones. Secondly, as a result of analyzing the mediating effect of physical activity in the relationship between generalized anxiety disorder and smartphone overdependence experience, the physical activity was found to be a significant factor. Thirdly, it was confirmed that the physical activity has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between generalized anxiety disorder and smartphone overdependence experience. Increasing physical activity through team sports rather than individual sports may help reduce smartphone use.
