  • The purpose of this study is to present a block type smart classroom model for comprehensive supply of educational contents, classroom environment and ICT technology in African countries where educational infrastructure is weak. It will provide a contextual solution that integrates learning management, power management, and classroom environment management systems, and will be a convergence model that can optimize economic and non-economic conditions for different African countries. It can be expected to enhance utilization as it is a differentiated model from existing classrooms with a single container, as well as independent research and development centered on services, content, and solutions. Through this integrated research process, we can overcome the spatial and functional limitations appearing in single container classrooms and build a flexible space for advanced e-learning technology. The depth and scope of the follow-up study can be carried by investigating the performance and models that are in line with the educational and infrastructure conditions of the various regions.

  • In smart ports and port automation, the number of vertically deployed container terminals is growing. The purpose of this study is to analyze the productivity of horizontally arranged and vertically arranged container terminals by comparing the main ship operation time, and to recommend future strategies for increasing the operational efficiency of vertically configured container terminals. To achieve our goal, we chose two terminals representating each type, and collected berth allocation status data from 2018 to 2022. Then we analyzed the data using the Accelerated Failure Time (AFT) model, a parametric survival analysis technique. Under the assumption that the working circumstances of the C/C (Container Crane) are the same, we find that the productivity of on-board work of the vertically placed container terminal is higher than that of the horizontally placed container terminal. Our result also shows that the productivity is reduced during the COVID-19 period and the European ships show lower onboard work time. On the basis of these findings, we propose strategies to improve the productivity of vertical container terminals.

  • Recently, various technologies such as logistics automation and port operations automation with ICT technology are being developed to build smart ports. However, there is a lack of technology development for port safety and safety accident prevention. This paper proposes an AI-based shipping container loading safety management system for the prevention of safety accidents at container loading fields in ports. The system consists of an AI-based shipping container safety accident risk classification and storage function and a real-time safety accident monitoring function. The system monitors the accident risk at the site in real-time and can prevent container collapse accidents. The proposed system is developed as a prototype, and the system is ecaluated by direct application in a port.

Research design, data, methodology : Research model and hypotheses have been developed based on literature review and working-level interview The collected data were analysed with structural equation modeling, examining the hypothesized relationships and mediating effect. Result : The results of research are as follows, First, LISMB on S.P' Characters has a positive effect on a precariousness of operation management. but That has no effect on a precariousness of general management. Second, Consign management and User non-cooperation has a mediating effect on relationships between LISMB on S.P' Characters and general management. Third, Old version system, User non-cooperation and Unskilled in equipment new system has a partly mediating effect on relationships between LISMB on S.P' Characters and operation management. Conclusion : Smart-phon Prevalence rates keeps increasing. Nevertheless, LISMB on S.P' Characters may no be used in Container transportation market. This problem are being blamed for hampering corporate activities and harbor logistics industry development. so we need new way to solve that problem.

  • Overseas advanced ports are promoting smartification, as well as full automation of the terminals surrounding container terminals. A smart port can be defined as a comprehensive concept that pursues increased operational efficiencies, maximization of profit, efficient use of energy, and construction of eco-friendly ports with the introduction of fourth-industrial-revolution technology, including port automation. However, Korea is making efforts to introduce fourth-industrial-revolution technology into ports, but indications are that they are somewhat insufficient compared to advanced ports abroad. Therefore, this study conducted a survey about operators and users of container terminals in Gwangyang Port by deriving the factors determining the introduction of smart ports, such as cost, service, time, safety, and environment, from previous studies. This study analyzed the factors determining the introduction of smart ports and moderating effects when the adjustment variables of operators and users were applied to the pros and cons. As a result of the analysis, it was found that port operators and users have a moderating effect on cost, time, safety, and environmental factors, but not on service factors. These results indicate that port operators try to reduce costs through efficient operation, time management, and by reducing safety accidents by building smart ports, but analysis showed that the negative effects of smart ports have affected port users. The results of this study were derived through a moderated regression analysis and suggested implications for introducing smart ports in the conclusion.

  • This study used representative variables mentioned in the media after COVID-19 to identify the relationship between container ocean freight rates. The research results are as follows: Container utilization index, US distribution industry inventory ratio, and number of new US unemployment benefit claims emerged as variables that influenced freight rates. It was shown that a 1% increase in the container utilization index would increase freight rates by 9.4%, and a 1% increase in the US distribution industry inventory ratio would increase freight rates by 0.5%. A 1% increase in the number of new US unemployment benefit claims would increase freight rates by 0.26%. A 1% increase in the port congestion index would decrease freight rates very slightly. This study is significant in that it collected and presented meaningful variables after COVID-19, applied an econometric model to analyze the relationship between independent variables and freight rates, and explored significant variables in the relationship between independent variables that are intricately intertwined.

  • The Internet of things (IoT) has been applied to a variety of industrial uses such as public service sectors, medical industries, automotive industries, and so on. Led by smart cities, this is typical. However, from a logistics perspective, the level of application is insufficient. This study examines the applicability of IoT-related technology in a container terminal, an object of the present invention, to derive an applicable plan. Analytic network process (ANP) analysis reveals the following results for IoT applications in container terminals: operating systems (26.7%), safety/environmental/security systems (26.4%), equipment maintenance systems (25.3%), and facility maintenance systems (21.6 %). The second ANP analysis reveals the following results: Economy (40.2%), productivity (21.1%), service level (19.5%), and utilizing technology level (19.2%). The application or standard of evaluation is important when applying IoT technology to container terminals; however, it is not concentrated in a certain area. It is desirable to build each container system with linkage and efficiency from a macroscopic view.

  • IoT, Big-data, AI, and Cloud technologies, which are core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, have recently been applied to various fields and are being used as core technologies for new growth engines. Accordingly, these core technologies are applied to the agricultural field without exception, contributing to solving the problem of labor shortage, reducing production costs, and reducing environmental burden through remote and automated production without time and space constraints. However, as these core technologies are utilized, security incidents are occurring in the agricultural field as well. Accordingly, this study divides smart farms into three stages(Basic, Middle, and High) and presents the characteristics and security threats of each stage. In particular, as the number of container-based services and research increases under cloud platforms, we would like to suggest countermeasures focusing on security threats.
