  • 스마트폰 및 태블릿 PC에 들어가는 핵심 부품인 AP(Application Processor)는 모두 GPU(Graphics Processing Unit)를 내장하고 있다. 이는 칩 면적의 제약과 사용 가능한 전력의 한계로 데스크톱의 그래픽 카드에 탑재된 고성능 GPU와는 다른 설계 제약을 받는다. 본고에서는 고성능 GPU와 다른 설계 조건을 갖는 mobile GPU 기술에 대해서 알아보았고 대표적인 commercial mobile GPU인 Imagination, ARM, Qualcomm, NVidia사의 mobile GPU의 특징 및 성능에 대해서 알아보았다.

  • We proposed that is suitable network environment and wire/wireless communication network, easy of implementation, security level preservation, scalable & reconfigurable to TCP/IP protocol architecture to implement suitable smart card MS-Serpent cryptographic algorithm for smart card by hardware base chip level that software base is not implement. Implemented MT-Serpent cryptosystem have 4,032 in gate counter and 406.2Mbps@2.44MHz in throughput. Implemented MS-Serpent cryptographic algorithm strengthens security vulnerability of TCP/IP protocol to do to rescue characteristic of smart card and though several kind of services are available and keep security about many user in wire/wireless environment, there is important purpose.

Loop Probe Design and Measurement of Electromagnetic Wave Signal for Contactless Cryptographic Analysis (비접촉 암호 분석용 루프 프로브 설계 및 전자파 신호 측정)

  • In this paper, a study has been performed on the design of small loop probe and analysis of induced electromagnetic wave signal from a smartcard for contactless cryptographic analysis. Probes for cryptographic analysis are different from conventional EM probes, because the purpose of proposed probe is to obtain the information for secret key analysis of cryptographic system. The waveform of induced voltage on probe must be very close to radiated waveform from IC chip on smartcard because electromagnetic attack makes an attempt to analyze the radiated waveform from smartcard. In order to obtain secret key information, we need to study about cryptographic analysis using electromagnetic waves, an approximate model of source, characteristic of probe for cryptographic analysis, measurement of electromagnetic waves and calibration of probes. We measured power consumption signal on a smartcard chip and electromagnetic wave signal using proposed probe and compared with two signals of EMA point of view. We verified experimently the suitability of the proposed small loop probe for contactless cryptographic analysis by applying ARIA algorithm.

  • This paper describes a design and implementation of the NFC bridge chip which performs interface between kinds of devices and mobile phones including NFC controller through NFC communication. The NFC bridge chip consists of the digital part and the analog part which are based on NFC Forum standard. Therefore the chip treats RF signals and then transforms the signal to digital data, so it can interface kinds of devices with the digital data. Especially the chip is able to detect RF signals and then wake up the host processor of a device. The wakeup function dramatically decreases the power consumption of the device. The carrier frequency is 13.56MHz, and the data rate is up to 424kbps. The chip has been fabricated with SMIC 180nm mixed-mode technology. Additionally an NFC bridge chip application to the blood glucose measurement system is described for an application example.

  • Electronic identity (e-ID) card based on smartcard is a representative identity credential for on-line and off-line personal identification. The e-ID card can store the personal identity information securely, so that the information can be accessed fast, automated identity verification and used to determine the cardholder's authorization to access protected resources. Due to such features of an e-ID card, the number of government organizations and corporate enterprises that consider using e-ID card for identity management is increasing. In this paper, we present an authentication framework for access control system using e-ID cards by discussing the threat environment and security requirement against e-ID card. Specifically, to accomplish our purpose, we consider the Personal Identity Verification system as our target model.

  • 최근 미국을 중심으로 전자여권을 도입하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 또한 전자여권은 비접촉식 스마트카드 기능의 IC칩에 사용자 정보, 바이오정보 및 여러 보안 기능을 포함함으로써 전자여권의 보안 문제들을 해결하고 있다. 그러나 기존의 RFID 기술에서 발생하는 데이터 위 변조, 무단 복제, 도청 등의 문제점들을 내재하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전자여권을 확인 시 전자여권에 포함된 사진의 변경 여부를 확인함으로써 보안의 강도를 강화하는 메커니즘을 제안한다.

  • 최근 전 세계적으로 전자여권(ePassport), 전자주민등록증(NID, National e-ID) 등과 같은 전자신분증(e-ID, electronic ID)을 도입하기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 국내에서도 전자주민등록증을 도입하기 위한 사업을 진행하고 있다. 전자신분증은 비접촉식 스마트카드 기능의 IC(Integrated Circuit) 칩에 개인 정보 및 생체 정보를 저장하고 암호 처리, 접속 대상의 인증, 기억 데이터의 관리 등의 보안 기능을 포함하는 신분증이다. 본 논문에서는 전자신분증의 구조와 국·내외 동향, 그리고 전자신분증 기술 동향을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 향후 전자신분증 도입 시 고려되어야 할 사항을 살펴보도록 한다.

  • 최근 전 세계적으로 전자여권을 도입하기 위한 연구가 미국을 중심으로 활발히 진행되고 있다. 또한 전자여권은 비접촉식 스마트카드 기능의 IC(Integrated Circuit) 칩에 사용자의 정보와 바이오정보 그리고 여러 보안 기능들을 포함함으로써 기존의 여권에서 발생하는 문제점들을 해결하고 있다. 그러나 기존의 RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) 기술에서 발생하는 데이터 위변조, 도청, 무단복제 및 바이오정보 노출 등의 문제점들을 아직 내재하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 현재 필수로 적용되는 BAC 메커니즘을 조금 더 안정적이고 효율적으로 개선한 EBAC 메커니즘을 제안한다.

  • The Flash memory market: is an exciting market that has quickly over the last 10 years. Recently Flash memory provides a high-density. truly non-volatile, high performance read write memory solutions, also is characterized by low power consumption, extreme ruggedness and high reliability. Flash memory is an optimum solution for large nonvolitilc storage operations such as solid file storage, digital video recorder, digital still camera, The MP3 player and other portable multimedia communication applications requiring non-volatility. Regardless of the type of Flash memory, Flash media management software is always required to manage the larger Flash memory block partitions. This is true, since Flash memory cannot be erased on the byte level common to memory, but must be erased on a block granularity. The management of a Flash memory manager requires a keen understanding of a Flash technology and data management methods. Though Flash memory's write performance is relatively slow, the suggested algorithm offers a higher maximum write performance. Algorithms so far developed is not suitable for applications which is requiring more fast and frequent accesses. But, the proposed algorithm is focused on the justifiable operation even in the circumstance of fast and frequent accesses.

  • Recently, AI (Artificial Intelligence) has been applied to various technologies such as automatic driving, robot and smart communication. Currently, AI system is developed by software-based method using tensor flow, and GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) is employed for processing unit. However, if software-based method employing GPU is used for AI applications, there is a problem that we can not change the internal circuit of processing unit. In this method, if high-level jobs are required for AI system, we need high-performance GPU, therefore, we have to change GPU or graphic card to perform the jobs. In this work, we developed a CNN-based FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chip to solve this problem.
