Frequency Characteristics of Energy Harvester Using Piezoelectric Elements (압전식 에너지 수확기의 주파수 특성)

  • This paper presents an energy harvester using piezoelectric elements that is a kind of generator which converts the mechanical power to the electric one using windmill system with many PZT actuators. In this study, low frequency characteristics of the cantilever-type piezoelectric actuator are experimentally investigated. Advantages of the cantilever use are to take a very large displacement and to improve the endurance of the PZT element. The material of cantilever is an aluminum and three kinds of cantilever of which size is $150[mm]{\times}20[mm]{\times}1.5[mm]$, $170[mm]{\times}20[mm]{\times}1.5[mm]$ and $190[mm]{\times}20[mm]{\times}1.5[mm]$ were experimented, respectively. The cantilever was fixed on the vibrator. The characteristics of frequency and mass variation of cantilever end part such as 0[g], 5[g], 10[g] are investigated. Maximum voltage was outputted at the condition of $150[mm]{\times}20[mm]{\times}1.5[mm]$ and 10[g] of mass. It was confirmed that the lower natural frequency at the larger length of cantilever and at the bigger of mass is gotten.

  • Garlic is one of the major seasoned vegetables in Korea along with peppers and onions. Although it is a major cash crop, the aging population of farmers and rising labor and production costs are cited as the reasons for the decreasing production. Accordingly, it is necessary to introduce and spread garlic cultivation mechanization technology to reduce the input labor demand. In this study, conducted a field demonstration in Jeollanam-do using garlic harvesting machinery. In addition, it was intended to improve the mechanization rate of garlic harvesting by deriving factors that can apply to garlic harvesting machines in Jeollanam-do and investigating regional adaptability. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the harvesting performance of the garlic harvester and garlic collector in Jeollanam-do met the agricultural machine test standards. In addition, as a result of calculating the input effect of the mechanized work system compared to the conventional garlic harvesting work system, it was found that there was a labor-saving effect of 96.02%.

An Establishment of the Optimum Sowing Time for a Machine Harvest of Perilla for Seed (종실용 들깨의 기계수확에 적합한 최적 파종시기 설정)

  • In order to promote the mechanized cultivation of perilla for seed, which has been increasing in cultivation area and production recently as demand increases according to the health-functional effects, we carried out this experiment to determine the optimum sowing time of perilla to minimize the seed loss at harvest and increase the yield. We used two different types of perilla varieties, 'Sodam(small-branch)' and 'Deulsaem(multi-branch)', and the sowing time was June 15, June 30, July 15 and August 1. As the sowing time is late, days of growth from sowing to flowering were shortened, and they were shortened from 14, 26 and 31~32 days on June 30, July 15 and August 1 as compared with June 15, respectively. And, the stem length and culm diameter were shortened or tapered and the number of nodes tended to decrease. The number of effective branch was 82%, 61% and 56% on June 30, July 15 and August 1 as compared with June 15, respectively. Accordingly, it seems to make against in securing the yield from July 15. And, the lowest cluster height was generally shorter as the sowing time is late, and the height was below 15cm on July 15 and August 1. It seems that this may work against the machine harvest. There was a high degree of significance between the sowing time and the yield. Although, the total yield was not statistically significant among June 15, June 30 and July 15, the ratio of shattering seed at harvest was in order of July 15, August 1(30.3%)> June 15(15.3%)> June 30(13.5%). Therefore, the net yield except for shattered seed was higher in order of June 30${\geq}$ June 15> July 15> August 1. This tendency was characteristic regardless of variety and sowing method. And, the protein content in perilla seed increased as the sowing time was delayed, and the content was the highest on August 1. The content of crude fat was relatively high on June 15 and July 15 in 'Sodam', and June 30 and July 15 in 'Deulsaem', respectively. And, the content of linolenic acid was found to be the highest on August 1. As a result, the optimal sowing time for machine harvest of perilla for seed is about June 30. At this time, it is determined that the sowing time is the most suitable to be advantageous in increasing the yield of perilla seed, while minimizing the seed loss due to the shattering at harvest.

  • The mechanization efficiency using high ability machines such as tractors or combines in a paddy field rice farm is high. Mechanization in harvesting fruits and vegetables is difficult, because they are easy to be damaged. Therefore, Advanced techniques for careful handling fruits and vegetables are necessary in automation and robotization. An apple harvesting robot must have a recognition device to detect the positioning of fruit, manipulators which function like human arms, and hand to take off the fruit. This study is related to the development of a rotatic hand as the first stage in developing the apple harvesting robot. The results are summarized as follows. 1. It was found that a hand that was eccentric in rotatory motion, was better than a hand of semicircular up-and-down motion in harvesting efficiency. 2. The hand was developed to control changes in grasp forces by using tape-type switch sensor which was attatched to fingers' inside. 3. Initial finger positioning was set up to control accurate harvesting by using a tow step fingering position. 4. This study showed the possibility of apple harvesting using the developed robot hand.

  • 뿌리작물(作物)을 수확(收穫)하기 위(爲)하여 진동(振動)을 이용(利用)한 4절(節)링크로 구성(構成)되는 시작기(試作機)를 설계(設計), 제작(製作) 및 실험을 수행(遂行)하였다. 수확기(收穫機)의 작동중(作動中) 발생(發生)하는 불균형력(不均衡力)을 상쇄(相殺)시키기 위(爲)한 힘의 평형장치(平衡裝置)를 설계(設計)하기 위(爲)하여 각(各) 요소(要素)의 가속도(加速度) 및 동력학적(動力學的)인 힘을 분석(分析)하였고, 진동기구(振動機構)에 의(依)하여 발생(發生)되는 이론적(理論的)인 토크와 측정(測定)된 토크를 비교분석(比較分析)하였다. 설계(設計)된 힘의 평형장치(平衡裝置)는 불균형력(不均衡力)의 대부분(大部分)을 상쇄(相殺)시켜주고, 이론적(理論的)인 토크는 실측(實測)토크의 변화경향(變化傾向)과 잘 일치(一致)하였다.

Determination of Development Strategy for a Pepper Harvester (고추수확기의 개발방향 설정)

  • Pepper is the most important horticultural plant in Korean farm. Pepper harvesting has been known to be the most difficult process in pepper cultivation so that demand for mechanization is strong. In a research to develop a pepper harvesting machine performance and capacity of the harvester should be determined based on both economical feasibility and machine design concept. In order to accomplish an economical analysis of the pepper harvester, a mathematical model for comparing manual harvesting cost to machine harvest cost was developed. Validity of the model depends on the data used in the model. Economical information for the model variables was acquired from the result of farm survey on pepper cultivation technique and economics of pepper farmer. Technical information on pepper harvester were also collected through literature review and analyzed. Based on the economical analysis and synthesis of the technical information on pepper harvesters, its performance and capacity were determined. The operating performances of the harvester such as cutting, conveying, flipping, pepper removing and post-processing (sorting) were determined. Daisy capacity of the machine was determined to be 0.41 ha. A pepper harvester with the suggested capacity was economically feasible if the price of pepper harvester, pepper recovery ratio and service life of harvester were about 6 million won, 80%, and 4 years, respectively.

  • 당근은 미나리과에 속하는 직근성 채소로서 비타민A가 다량 함유된 건강식품으로 우리나라에 6,000㏊ 내외로 재배되고 있다. 재배지역은 우리나라 전체 재배면적 중에서 남제주군 지역이 44.5%, 경남 김해, 양산지역이 16.1%, 강원 평창지역이 11.1%를 점유하고 있으며 총 재배면적의 70% 이상이 주산단지 화되어 있어 기계화가 용이한 작목이다. 당근재배에 있어서 10a당 작업단계별 노동투하시간을 보면 전체 100.2시간으로 경운정지, 방제작업만 기계화가 이루어지고 대부분 인력에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. (중략)

  • 우리 식생활에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있는 배추는 최근 식생활패턴 변화에 따라 외식 소비와 여성의 사회활동 증가, 가공원료용 수요 및 김치수출 증가 등으로 신선배추수요가 연중 평준화되어 안정적이고 지속적인 공급을 필요로 하고 있다. 그러나 배추재배 기계화는 경운정지, 비닐피복 및 방제작업을 제외하고는 대부분의 작업을 인력에 의존하고 있어 노동생산성 저하 및 생산비 증가의 원인이 되고 있다. 특히, 배추의 생산비 절감 및 안정적인 공급을 위해서는 전체 노동투하시간의 43%를 차지하고 있는 정식, 수확 및 제초작업 등 인력의존도가 높은 작업에 대한 기계화가 시급한 실정이다. Effect of Stored Rice on Quality Characteristics of Instant Rice Noodles (저장쌀이 즉석 쌀국수의 품질 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the quality characteristics of instant rice noodles made from rice flour with different harvest times rice processed products. The physicochemical characteristics of three different types of rice flour were investigated, including common rice flour (CRF, harvested in 2012), stored rice flour (SRF, harvested in 2008) and CSRF (CRF mixed with SRF). Instant rice noodles were manufactured with the three types of rice flour, and their quality and sensory characteristics were investigated. The water-binding capacity of rice flour was highest in CSRF. Regarding setback on RVA pasting viscosity, SRF and CSRF showed higher values than CRF. Water absorption after cooking of instant rice noodles was highest in common rice noodles (CON). The volume after cooking of instant rice noodles increased in rice noodles with stored rice flour (SRN). Turbidity of rice noodles using CSRF (CSRN) was higher value than that of CON. In texture properties, CON displayed the highest hardness, adhesiveness, springiness, and chewiness. In the sensory evaluation, overall acceptability values of CON were significantly higher than those of other rice noodles (SRN and CSRN). It was concluded that rice noodles with stored rice flour have increased turbidity with reduced texture and overall preference. This study suggests that addition of CRF may result in significantly increased overall quality of instant rice noodles prepared by SRF.

Effect of Seeding Date and Rates on Rice Growth and Yield in Barley / Rice Relay Cropping System (보리 입모중 벼 파종시기 및 파종량이 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • To investigate the effect of seeding date, seeding rate, and sprouted seeds on seedling establishment, yield and its components of rice in barley /rice reley cropping as a minimum tillage, Gancheokbyeo rice seeds sowed by hand broadcast in various overlapped days befer barley harvest. The highest rice seedling stand was at sowed on the day just before barley harvest and l00kg per hectare of seeding rate with sprouted seeds. Also number of tiller and panicle showed the similar tendency. Delayed rice heading dates were found 2 days at l0-day overlap, 2 days at 5-day overlap, and 4 days at 0-day overlap before barley harvest compared with machine transplanting rice at just after barley harvest using l0-days old seedling. The culm length of broadcast rice shortened 2∼4cm compared with the transplanting rice. The rice plants lodged slightly at seeding rate l00kg per hectare and at sowed on the day of barley harvest. The rice panicle number increased with later date sowing and higher seeding rate. Number of spikelets per panicle and ripened grains decreased at higher seeding rates. Sprouted seeds and higher seeding rates showed higher rice yield at later sowing dates.
