Numerical Analysis of Thermal Environment Control in High-Density Data Center (고밀도 데이터센터의 열환경제어를 위한 수치해석)

  • Increasing heat generation in CPUs can hamper effective recirculation and by-pass because of the large temperature difference between the exhaust and the intake air through a server room. This increases the overall temperature inside a data center and decreases the efficiency of the data center's cooling system. The purpose of the data center's cooling system is to separate the intake and exhaust air by controlling the computer room air-conditioner(CRAC). In this study, ICEPAK is used to conduct a numerical analysis of a data center's cooling system. The temperature distribution and the entire room are analyzed for different volumetric flow rates. The optimized volumetric flow rate is found for each CPU power. The heat removal and temperature distribution for CPU powers of 100, 120, and 140 W are found to be the best for a volumetric flow rate of $0.15m^3/s$. The numerical analysis is verified through RTI indicators, and the results appear to be the most reliable when the RTI value is 81.

  • The feature based modeling approach is useful for post-CAD related works such as process planning and NC part programming. This paper describes the development of 'FeaTURN' system which is feature based NC part programming system for turning operation. The programming task in 'FeaTURN' system becomes easy and effective with the assistance of feature icons. The manufacturing attributes can be handled toghther with the features during input procedure. The cutter location data (CLD) is determined by the processor module. The post process module converts the CL data to machine control data (MCD). Also, the system graphically displays the tool path.

  • 본 논문에서는 자율 주행 로봇을 위한 계층화된 소프트웨어 구조 제안한다. 제안된 소프트웨어 구조에서는 데이터 종류를 추상화 단계에 따라 수치형 데이터, 명제형 데이터, 사실형 데이터로 분류했다. 그리고, 사용하는 데이터의 종류에 따라 계층을 분류해서, 실행 계층, 제어 계층, 추론 계층을 구성하고 각 계층의 기능을 정의했다. 또한 각 계층별 데이터 특성에 따른 고유의 데이터 처리 방법을 적용하였으며, 처리 결과에 대한 계층간 연동 구조에 대해서도 제안한다. 이러한 계층의 명확한 구분을 통하여 실시간 문제이면서도 복잡한 자료 처리 구조를 가지는 자율 주행 로봇의 소프트웨어 구조를 체계화하였고, 각 계층별 소프트웨어를 콤포넌화하여 재 사용성을 높이게 되었다.

An Extended DNC System for Factory Automation (공장자동화를 위한 확장 DNC 시스템)

  • This paper presents the study on the development of a DNC, system IPIS(Interactive Plant Information System)/DNC, which can manage NC machines and robots as a distributed control method in the machine. processing factory. The IPIS/DNC system is composed of a host computer, satellites and NC machines. A set of software modules are developed on the host computer and the satellites separately. By modularizing each functions of the IPIS/DNC system and using multi-taking method, the functions such as NC program management, NC program distribution, and shop monitoring can be performed on the host computer, and the functions such as NC program transfer to the NC machines, and NC program editing can be performed on the satellites. A Relational database which is linked with job scheduling system is used for IPIS/DNC system.

  • This paper presents a method of grinding and polishing automation of precision die after CNC machining. The method employs a robot system equipped with a pneumatic spindle and a special abrasive film pad. The robot program is automatically generated off-line program form a PC and downloaded to robot controller. Position and orientation data for the program is supplied form cutter contact (CC) data of NC machining process. This eliminates separate robot teaching process. This paper aims at practical automation of die finishing process which is very time consuming and suffering from shortage of workpeople. Time loss due to changeover from one product to another is eliminated by PC off-line programming exploiting appropriate NC machining data. Dextrous 6-axis robot with rigid wrist and simple tooling enables the process applicable to larger, rather complex 3 dimensional free surfaces.

  • In this paper, we consider the algorithms and numerical analysis for real-time integrated control system and resource management of large-scale manufacturing smart factory system. There various data transmitted on Cyber-Physical-System (CPS) is necessary to control in real time, as well as the terminal and the platform with respective system service. This will be a true smart manufacturing which consisting of existing research results, and a numerical analysis by the parameter-specific information. In this paper, Jacoby calculation to reflect the optimization algorithms that are newly proposed. It also presents a behavior that optimal operational algorithm on CPS which is adapted to the sensing data. In addition, we also verify the excellence of the real-time integrated control system through experimentation, by comparison with the existing research results.

  • 본 연구에서는 준능동형 제진장치로 복합형 제진장치(HMD, Hybrid Mass Damper)의 운용에 요구되는 제어알고리즘 개발에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 제어력을 산정하기 위한 알고리즘 내장화 과정에서 구조물의 상태를 피드백하기 위해서는 구조물의 가속도를 계측하고 이로부터 변위, 속도를 추정하게 되는데 여기서 발생하는 오차의 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 GPS의 실시간 변위측정기술을 활용하여 변위를 직접 입력하면서 구조물의 응답을 제어할 수 있는 알고리즘을 구성하려 한다. 이 때 측정된 데이터의 값에는 잡음이 발생하고 미분기의 동적특성을 가지고 있는 HMD에 입력신호로 사용하는 경우 상당한 오차가 생기는 변위 되먹임(Feedback)의 문제점을 확인하였다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 제진장치 입력신호의 시간간격(Time-interval)을 조정하여 오차를 줄일 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다. 수치해석결과, 입력신호에는 최적의 시간간격(Time-Interval)이 존재하였으며 이를 적용할 경우 건물의 변위와 가속도 응답을 크게 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Outside Temperature Prediction Based on Artificial Neural Network for Estimating the Heating Load in Greenhouse (인공신경망 기반 온실 외부 온도 예측을 통한 난방부하 추정)

  • Recently, the artificial neural network (ANN) model is a promising technique in the prediction, numerical control, robot control and pattern recognition. We predicted the outside temperature of greenhouse using ANN and utilized the model in greenhouse control. The performance of ANN model was evaluated and compared with multiple regression model(MRM) and support vector machine (SVM) model. The 10-fold cross validation was used as the evaluation method. In order to improve the prediction performance, the data reduction was performed by correlation analysis and new factor were extracted from measured data to improve the reliability of training data. The backpropagation algorithm was used for constructing ANN, multiple regression model was constructed by M5 method. And SVM model was constructed by epsilon-SVM method. As the result showed that the RMSE (Root Mean Squared Error) value of ANN, MRM and SVM were 0.9256, 1.8503 and 7.5521 respectively. In addition, by applying the prediction model to greenhouse heating load calculation, it can increase the income by reducing the energy cost in the greenhouse. The heating load of the experimented greenhouse was 3326.4kcal/h and the fuel consumption was estimated to be 453.8L as the total heating time is $10000^{\circ}C/h$. Therefore, data mining technology of ANN can be applied to various agricultural fields such as precise greenhouse control, cultivation techniques, and harvest prediction, thereby contributing to the development of smart agriculture.

Fluidic Thrust Vector Control Using Shock Wave Concept (충격파 개념에 기반한 유체 추력벡터제어에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, fluidic thrust vector control has become a core technique to control multifarious air vehicles, such as supersonic aircraft and modern rockets. Fluidic thrust vector control using the shock vector concept has many advantages for achieving great vectoring performance, such as fast vectoring response, simple structure, and low weight. In this paper, computational fluid dynamics methods are used to study a three-dimensional rectangular supersonic nozzle with a slot injector. To evaluate the reliability and stability of computational methodology, the numerical results were validated with experimental data. The pressure distributions along the upper and lower nozzle walls in the symmetry plane showed an excellent match with the test results. Several numerical simulations were performed based on the shear stress transport(SST) $k-{\omega}$ turbulence model. The effect of the momentum flux ratio was investigated thoroughly, and the performance variations have been clearly illustrated.

  • The manufacturing execution system (MES) for product production handles different production processes according to the product characteristics and different types of data according to the process being considered. For efficiently providing the data pertaining to production equipment to production systems such as the MES, data collection through the equipment interface is required for obtaining the production data pertaining to field equipment. In this paper, a method is proposed for collecting the production data through the equipment interface in order to collect the various types of production-equipment data from the field. The proposed method is applied to a real manufacturing system to verify its efficiency. A more powerful MES can be constructed with a data acquisition system that acquires the status data at the shop-floor level.
