A Study on the Characteristics of Natural Convection in a Partially Opened Enclosure with a Heat Source (발열체와 부분 열림 수직벽을 갖는 사각 공간내 자연대류 특성 해석)

  • Natural convection heat transfer in an enclosure with an opening in the right vertical wall and a heat source at the bottom surface is investigated using a holographic interferometric technique. The effects of the opening length, divider length attached to the top wall, and heater temperature on the temperature distribution are examined. The openging length as well as the divider length greatly affects the degree of inflow and outflow of air. With a small opening, the opening doesn't affect much the upward warm air flow resulting in the symmetric temperature distribution. On the other hand, with the increase of the opening length, the inward cold flow moves the upward flow to the left direction. With the increase of the divider length, temperature in the lower region of enclosure becomes higher for the small opening and lower for the large opening.

  • The existing theoretical models for steady two-dimensional free convective laminar film condensation or pure saturated or superheated vapor under atmospheric pressure on isotheraml vertical wall have been reviewed. To investigate the effects of inertia, thermal convective and liquid-vapor interface shear stress, the models of constant or variable properties in liquid film for condensation of saturated vapor are compared in detail with Nusselt model. Also, for condensation of superheated vapor the effects of superheated temperature and variable properties in liquid and vapor layer are examined and then new correlation is proposed to predict the heat transfer. The results are in good agreement with the Shang's correlation within 2% errors.

  • The analytical procedure of the boundary element method on potential poblems is introduced and the method is used to analyze the wabe poblem which has the boundary condition based on the small amplitude wave theory. The accuracy of the computational scheme is investigated by comparing the results of progressive wave and standing wave on two dimensional (x-z plane) constant depth and the possibility about analyzing more complicated water wave theories using this method is discussed.

  • 본 논문에서는 적외선과 같이 주파수가 Tera Hz 영역인 극초고주파에서 사용할 수 있는 Horn형 안테나의 제조를 위한 독창적인 방법을 제시하고 실험적인 검증을 하였다. 파장이 $10{\mu}m$ 부근인 전자기파에 대응될 수 있는 안테나의 구조에 대한 시뮬레이션을 하였으며 이를 기준으로 안테나 어레이를 제조하기 위한 기초실험을 하였다. 기존에 사용되던 LIGA-like 공정과는 대조적으로 Columnar illumination 방법을 사용하였으며 $300{\mu}m$ 두께의 SU-8에 대하여 수직벽을 제조할 수 있었고 기판 위치에 일정한 각도를 줌으로서 경사면을 갖는 구조를 제조하였으며 기판을 회전시킴으로서 원뿔형의 Horn형 안테나 어레이를 제조할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

Finite Element Springback Analysis of Vertically-Walled Auto-Body Part (수직벽을 가진 자동차 부품 성형공정의 스프링백 유한요소 해석)

  • A vertically-walled auto-body part is one of the most difficult stamping parts because of angle change, wall curl, and twisting of the blank after springback as well as fracture and wrinkle. In this study, computational simulations of the vertically-walled auto-body part are carried out focusing on angle change, wall curl, and twisting after springback. Binderwrap blank shape is used in forming analysis for precise initial contacts between punch and blank. An adaptive mesh method is used in springback analysis for precise calculation of bending moments. In springback analysis, the differences of 2 and 3 dimensional analysis are compared and the effects of blank holdig force and friction coefficient are evaluated. In order to verify the validity of simulation results, they are compared with measured ones. The predicted thickness distribution and formed shape are agreed well with those of the measurement. The Predicted springback amount is less than that of the measurement.

  • 본 연구에서는 유체가 담긴 원통형 유체저장탱크의 지진에 의한 좌굴을 수행하였다. 해석에 사용된 유체 저장탱크는 바닥이 앵커로 고정된 3차원 유한요소모델로 모델링 하였으며, 탱크 벽체와 지붕은 쉘 요소로, 지붕보강재는 프레임요소를 사용하여 모델링 하였다. 유체-탱크 모델은 Veletsos와 Shivakumar의 추가 질량법에 근거하여 지진에 의한 유체 압력은 탱크 벽에 수직으로 작용하도록 모델링 하였다. 2007년 일본에서 발생한 지진가속도를 사용하여 범용 유한요소 프로그램인 ABAQUS로 좌굴해석을 수행하였다.

삼척 대금굴의 환경과 관광화에 관한 연구

  • 대금굴은 3년여 동안 암석 틈새를 들춰내며 150m쯤 물길을 찾아 들어가, 다시 18m의 수직동굴로 하강하여 좁은 틈새를 비집고 70m를 들어가는 악전고투의 탐사 끝에 2003년 동굴을 발견했다. 이렇게 3년여 동안 발굴된 대금굴은 또다시 4년여 동안의 모노레일 설치와 동굴내부 관람로 및 조명설치 등의 공사를 거쳐 2097년 6월 5일 일반 공개를 하였다. 총 길이 610m 중 4분의 3정도는 동굴 입구로 향하는 산길이고 나머지는 동굴 안쪽 길이다. 승강장에서 동굴 내부 140m에 설치된 "대금역"까지는 약 7분이 걸린다. 운전석이 없고 자동으로 운행하기 때문에 앞뒤로 동굴 안팎이 잘 보인다. 동굴 내부에 열차를 타고 들어가는 건 분명 이색체험이다. 그러나 모노레일 내부에 울리는 비발디의 "사계"라든지 동굴 벽에 붙여 놓은, 네온 빛에 가까운 퍼런 빛깔의 조명이 조용한 동굴 감상에 역효과가 초래될 수도 있다.

  • We carried out the experiments which controled the periodic jet in front of the fence to alter the fence wake. The experiments were performed in circulating water channel and the vertical fence was submerged in the boundary layer. The frequency, jet nozzle distance and speed of jet passing the slit were investigated. Each case divided into 20 phases and phase-averaged results were compared with uncontrolled fence flow. From the results, we found the specific frequency and nozzle distance which were good for reducing the reattachment length. In this case, the reattachment length was decreased 35% compared with the uncontrolled fence flow.

  • 본 논문은 벽면 이동 로봇의 진공흡착을 위한 Mechanism의 개선에 관한 연구로서, 시뮬레이션을 통해 로봇의 무게에 따른 중력을 견딜 수 있도록 흡착의 효율을 높이고, Mechanism의 여러 조건들을 고려하여 실험을 통해 가장 적절히 부합하는 조건을 판단하며 벽의 수직방향으로의 미는 힘과 챔버 내의 저압영역등과의 상관관계를 고려하여 흡착 능력을 개선하기 위한 방법을 판단하기 위해 실험을 진행하였다.

The Influence of Variable Thermophysical Properties for Filmwise Condensation of Superheated Vapor on a Vertical Wall (수직 벽에서 과열증기의 막응축에 대한 열물성의 영향)

  • A theoretical model for laminar filmwise condensation along an isothermal vertical wall at constant pressure has been formulated on the basis of conservation laws and other fundamental physical principles. The model was applied to the prediction of the influences of variable thermophysical properties of liquid and vapor layers in the filmwise condensation of superheated vapor of Rl2, R134a, R142b and R152a. The dimensionless velocity component method was employed in the transformation of the governing equations and their boundary conditions, and the polynomial method was used for treating variable thermophysical properties of liquid and vapor. Physical quantities, such as the dimensionless thickness of the liquid layer, local heat transfer rate and mean heat transfer coefficient, were investigated for different values of the superheated temperature of the stagnant vapor far from the wall. It was found that the value of mean heat transfer coefficient of R134a was higher than other refrigerants for the change of the superheated temperature.
