Anatomical Studies on the Features of Rays in Compression Wood of Korean Red Pine(Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) (소나무(Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) 압축이상재(壓縮異常材)의 방사조직(放射組織) 특성(特性)에 관한 해부학적(解剖學的) 연구(硏究))

  • This experiment was executed to investigate and compare qualitative and quantitative anatomical features in compression wood, opposite wood, and side wood formed in a bent stem, a straight branch, and an exposed horizontal root of Korean red pine(Pinus densiflora S. et Z.). The respective four discs containing compression wood taken at 20cm interval both in stem and branch as well as a disc containing well developed compression wood from horizontal root were analyzed. Percentage of compression wood and eccentricity showed decreasing tendency with the increasing distance in height direction of stem and length direction of branch. The qualitative anatomical features of compression wood appeared to differ from those of side and opposite wood in very gradual tracheid transition from earlywood to latewood, roundish tracheid shape on cross surface, tracheid distortion at tip on radial surface, existence of intercellular space, and helical cavity in tracheid wall. And the differences in these qualitative features among the compression wood, opposite wood, and side wood became less intensive with the decreasing trends in percentage of compression wood and eccentricity. The quantitative anatomical features in compression wood also appeared to be wider in that respective widths of fusiform and uniseriate ray than those of opposite and side wood, but the heights of fusiform and uniseriate ray in compression wood were smaller than in opposite and side wood. The number of horizontal resin canal(fusiform ray) and uniseriate ray, however, showed no differences among the compression wood, opposite wood, and side wood. And the number of vertical resin canal in unit area, $4{\pi}mm^2$ of compression wood was fewer than that in opposite wood, whereas numerous vertical resin canals contained in a growth ring. These rays of compression wood seemed to be characterized by smaller height and wider width than those of opposite and side wood.

  • This paper describes the result of carbody load test. The purpose of the test is to evaluate an safety which carbody structure shall be considered fully sufficient rigidity so as to satisfy proper system function under maximum load and operating condition. Carbody material applied a stainless steel and an aluminum alloy, The stainless steel model is the carbody of a motor car which is delivering to KNR line 1 in 2002 and the aluminum alloy model is the carbody of a motor car which is delivering to GWANGJU line 1 in 2003.

Reinforcing Effect of Buildings Considering Load Distribution Characteristics of a Pre-compressed Micropile (선압축 보강마이크로파일의 하중분담 특성을 고려한 건물 보강효과에 대한 연구)

  • Micropiles can be used to support additional load in extended building structures. However, their use brings about a risk of exceeding the bearing capacity of existing piles. In this study, pre-compression was applied to distribute the load of an existing building to micropiles, and an indoor loading test was performed to confirm the structural applicability of a wedge-type anchorage device designed to improve its capacity. According to the test results, the maximum strain of the anchorage device was 0.63 times that of the yield strain, and the amount of slip generated at the time of anchorage was 0.11 mm, satisfying structural standards. In addition, using MIDAS GTS, a geotechnical finite element analysis software, the effect of the size of the pre-compression, the thickness of the soil layer, and the ground conditions around the tip on the reaction force of the existing piles and micropiles were analyzed. From the numerical analysis, as the size of the pre-compression load increased, the reaction force of the existing pile decreased, resulting in a reduction rate of up to 36 %. In addition, as the soil layer increased by 5 m, the reduction rate decreased by 4 %, and when the ground condition at the tip of the micropile was weathered rock, the reduction rate increased by 14 % compared with that of weathered soil.

  • This study was performed to estimate the anchorage behavior for Bi Prestressed Concrete Girder(Bicon girder) which could introduce effectively prestressed forces into concrete girders. A bicon girder is manufactured by means of introducing pure bending moment that prestress simultaneously the compressive member(steel bar) and the tensile member(steel tendon). Therefore, the steel bar and the steel tendon must be unified in both ends and compressive and tensile force be offset. Anchorage dimension of 6 test specimens was designed under PTI specification which defined maximum stress and deformation to estimate structural behavior. Test results showed that the stress and the deformation of anchorage were within limits if the steel bar behaviored elastically.

  • The behaviors of the reinforced concrete membrane elements are expected by Navier's three principles of the mechanics of materials. The adopted cyclic stress-strain curves of concrete consist of seven different unloading and loading stages in the compressive zone and six other stages in the tensile zone. The curves took into account the softening of concrete that was influenced by the tensile strain in the perpendicular direction of cracks. The stress-strain relationships for steel bar embedded in concrete subjected to reversed cyclic forces considered the tension stiffening effect and Baushinger effect. The predicted results of the analysis based on Navier's principles were in good agreement with the observed shear stress-strain relationships as well as transverse and longitudinal strains.

참외.포도.방울토마토의 고품질 유통을 위한 저온유통용 골판지 포장상자 개선에 관한 연구

  • 원예작물은 수확 후 여러 가지 요인에 의해 품질이 저하되어 상품성을 잃게되는데, 특히 수확 후 품온상승에 의해 호흡작용이 왕성해져 품질변화를 촉진하게 된다. 그러므로 수확 후 품온을 가능한 한 빠르게 낮추어 신선도를 유지하기 위한 예냉, 저온저장, 저온수송기술등 저온유통시스템을 활용하는 것이 매우 필요하다. 저온유통시스템을 효과적으로 활용하기 위해서는 냉기의 순환이 원활하여 냉각효율이 좋고 파손의 위험과 물류비용을 줄일 수 있는 포장상자의 구조에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 포도, 방울토마토, 참외의 소비형태는 핵가족화와 더불어 신선 고품질의 농산물을 소량 구매하는 소비패턴으로 변화하면서 저온유통 및 소포장을 위한 포장형태의 개선이 요구되고 있다. 따라서 예냉.저온유통에 적합한 포장상자를 개발하기 위하여 연구소, 농협중앙회, 상자제작회사, 포장디자인 업체, 산지농협 작목반이 개발협의체를 구성하여 참외, 포도, 방울토마토의 저온유통용 골판지 상자를 개발하여 압축강도 및 냉각시험을 실시하여 소비지에 시범 보급하였다. 1. 참외 포장상자는 3kg용 상부 개방형 골판지상자로써 손잡이를 부착하고, 포장상자 상부에 덮개용 필름을 부착하였다. 제작된 상자의 압축강도는 저온유통 후 에도 안전압축강도 이상인 343kgf의 압축강도를 나타냈고, 냉각효율도 기존상자에 비하여 높게 나타났다. 또한 개발된 상자를 사용하여 시중에 출하할 경우 기존 5kg 상자에 비하여 8%이상의 부가가치를 높일 수 있었다. 2. 포도 포장상자는 소비자 기호도를 충족하고 다층적재시 손상을 방지하기 위하여 내용물을 1단 적재하고 상자를 개방형으로 하여 덮개용 필름을 부착하므로써 소비자가 내용물을 확인할 수 있도록 하고, 상자의 압축강도는 소비지까지 유통이 완료된 후 에도 수직압축강도가 400kgf이상으로 안전압축강도 보다 높아 저온에서 안전하게 유통할 수 있었다. 또한 개발된 상자를 사용하여 시중에 출하할 경우 기존 5kg 상자에 비하여 2kg상자는 21%, 4kg상자는 12%이상의 부가가치를 높일 수 있었음. 3. 방울토마토 포장상자는 외포장 상자를 4kg용 상부 개방형 골판지상자를 사용하고, 내포장상자는 500g용 PET용기를 사용하여 1상자에 8개의 내포장상자가 적재될 수 있도록 제작하였다. 제작된 외포장상자의 압축강도는 저온유통후에도 320kgf으로 안전압축강도보다 높게 나타났고, 파랫트 적재효율도 96%이상으로 나타나 물류의 효율성을 높일 수 있었다. 개발된 상자를 사용하여 시중에 출하할 경우 기존 산물형태의 4kg용 상자에 비하여 500g 내포장상자에 출하할 경우 20%이상의 부가가치를 높일 수 있었다.

The failure modes of specimens under cyclic loading were concentrated at 5-20cm apart region from beam-column joint face and ductility index are increased with increasing of shear confinement ratio. Seismic analysis of tunnel considering the strain-dependent shear modulus and damping ratio of a Jointed rock mass (절리암반의 변형률 의존적 전단탄성계수 및 감쇠비 특성을 고려한 터널의 내진 해석)

  • Contrary to an intact rock, the jointed rock mass shows strain-dependent deformation characteristics (elastic modulus and damping ratio). The maximum elastic modulus of a rock mass can be obtained from an elastic wave-based exploration in a small strain level and applied to seismic analyses. However, the assessment and application of the non-linear characteristics of rock masses in a small to medium strain level ($10^{-4}{\sim}0.5%$) have not been carried out yet. A non-linear dynamic analysis module is newly developed for FLAC3D to simulate strain-dependent shear modulus degradation and damping ratio amplification characteristics. The developed module is verified by analyzing the change of the Ricker wave propagation. Strain-dependent non-linear characteristics are obtained from disks of cored samples using a rock mass dynamic testing apparatus which can evaluate wave propagation characteristics in a jointed rock column. Using the experimental results and the developed non-linear dynamic module, seismic analyses are performed for the intersection of a shaft and an inclined tunnel. The numerical results show that vertical and horizontal displacements of non-linear analyses are larger than those of linear analyses. Also, non-linear analyses induce bigger bending compressive stresses acting on the lining. The bending compressive stress concentrates at the intersection part. The fundamental understanding of a strain-dependent jointed rock mass behavior is achieved in this study and the analytical procedure suggested can be effectively applied to field designs and analyses.

  • In a material, micro-cracks can be progressively occurred, propagated and finally lead to failure when it is subjected to cyclic or periodic loading less than its ultimate strength. This phenomenon, fatigue, is usually considered in a metal, alloy and structures under repeated loading conditions. In underground structures, a static creep behavior rather than a dynamic fatigue behavior is mostly considered. However, when compressed air is stored in a rock cavern, an inner pressure is periodically changed due to repeated in- and-out process of compressed air. Therefore mechanical properties of surrounding rock mass and an inner lining system under cyclic loading/unloading conditions should be investigated. In this study, considering an underground lined rock cavern for compressed air energy storage (CAES), the mechanical properties of a lining system, that is, concrete lining and plug under periodic loading/unloading conditions were characterized through cyclic bending tests and shear tests. From these tests, the stability of the plug was evaluated and the S-N line of the concrete lining was obtained.

A Study on Durability Enhancement of Hopper of the Transplanter (정식기 호퍼 내구성 향상에 관한 연구)

  • 정식기는 주로 노외에서 사용되므로 사용자에 따라 극심한 작업환경 하에 놓일 수 있다. 사용 중 정식기 호퍼에 토양이나 자갈, 돌 등에 의해 반복적인 하중이 가해지거나 순간적인 충격하중이 가해져 취약부가 파손될 가능성이 있으므로, 토양과 직접 맞닿는 삽날부의 경우 내구성을 고려한 설계/제작이 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 보행형 반자동 정식기 개발에서 고추묘와 같은 초장이 긴 작물의 묘를 효과적으로 이식할 수 있도록 개선된 삽날에 대해 기존 삽날과 강도 및 강성을 비교하고, 그 결과가 삽날의 내구성에 미칠 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 실험에는 양날 개폐 방식의 기존 및 개선삽날 2종이 사용되었으며, 각각 3회씩 정적 강도를 평가하였다. 실제 정식기 사용시 하중이 가해지는 방향은 삽날에 수직한 방향의 압축하중으로 이를 모사하여 일정변위 속도로 삽날에 하중을 가하였으며, 시험 진행시 DAQ 시스템을 통해 실시간으로 하중 및 변위 데이터를 저장하여 시험 종료 후 해당 데이터를 이용하여 $P-{\delta}$ 선도를 도출하였다. 시험 결과 기존삽날의 평균 최대하중이 개선삽날에 비해 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 최대 하중이 나타나는 지점의 변위의 경우, 기존삽날이 개선삽날에 비해 짧게 나타났다. 정적 강도측면에서 개선삽날이 기존삽날에 비해 최대 강도가 낮은 것으로 판단할 수 있으나, 실제 호퍼의 내구성에 영향을 줄 수 있는 주요 인자는 반복적으로 가해지는 비교적 낮은 수준의 충격하중으로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 볼 때 일정 수준 이상의 강도를 가지면서, 기존삽날에 비해 낮은 강성을 가지는 개선삽날이 변형을 통한 충격에너지 흡수로 오히려 삽날 조립체(호퍼)의 내구성 측면에서 유리할 수 있다. 따라서 향후에는 기존 및 개선삽날을 적용한 호퍼에 대해 피로시험을 수행하여 관련 내용을 실험적으로 검증하고자 한다.
