An Influence of Using Open-ended Problems in Ability-Level Activities on Academic Achievement of Mathematics (개방형 문제를 활용한 수준별 학습이 학업성취도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of using open-ended problems in ability-level activities in mathematics instruction and to draw some informative conclusions in order to improve the practice of teaching and learning mathematics in the elementary school. To fulfill the purpose, the research questions were established as follows: 1. Is there any difference between the academic achievements of the experimental group(doing ability-level activities using open-ended problems) and the control group(doing general ability-level activities)? 2. Which sub-group(grouped by achievement score in pretest) get affected most by ability-level activities using open-ended problem in the experimental group? 3. What kinds of responses do students show in their ability-level activities using open-ended problems? By applying t-test and analysing the response, the conclusions were drawn as follows: First, using open-ended problems in ability-level activities has positive effects on the academic achievement of the experiment group. The mean of posttest scores of the experiment group was statistically meaningfully higher(p<.05). Second, using open-ended problems in ability-level activities affect most to the achievement of lower sub-group in the experiment group. The mean of posttest scores of lower sub-group in the experiment group was statistically meaningfully higher than that of control group(p<.05). Third, students showed various and creative response in their ability-level activities using open-ended problems.

  • 2000년부터 적용되고 있는 7차 교육과정은 학습자 중심의 교육과정이다. 이를 실행하기 위해 수준별 교육과정과 과정을 중시하는 수행평가가 도입되었다. 본 논문은 컴퓨터 교과의 수행평가와 수준별 학습의 문제점을 분석하고 이를 해결하기 위하여 수행평가와 수준별 학습이 결합된 학습모형을 제안하다. 이 학습모형을 따르면 수준에 맞는 개별화 학습이 이루어져 능동적인 완전학습이 이루어지고 교사는 수행되는 과정을 관찰하여 학생의 수준을 잘 파악할 수 있어 보다 객관적이고 정확한 평가를 할 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터 프로그래밍 수업에서 정규 수업과 연계하여 학습자들의 수준별 맞춤형 학습 활동을 별도로 진행할 경우, 학습자들의 학습 수준을 평가하여 수준별 팀 구성을 하게 되는데 학습 수준을 평가하기 위해 프로그래밍 작성 능력과 같은 학습실력 이외에 학습 의욕이나 도전 정신 등 다른 요소들을 함께 반영하여 팀 구성을 하게 되면 어떤 학습 효과를 거둘 수 있는지에 대해 연구해보고자 한다.

  • 교육은 학습자의 타고난 재능을 최대한 계발시키는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서는 개개인에 최적화된 학습시스템이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 수준별, 개인별 수학학습을 도와 자기주도적 학습능력을 키울 수 있는 시스템을 web상에서 개발하여 구현하고자 한다. 기존의 Web에서 제공되는 수학학습을 살펴보면 텍스트 위주의 설명, 단순한 문제를 제공하고 정, 오답의 결과만을 제시해 주는 형태가 많다. 그러나 본 시스템은 학생들의 흥미와 학습동기를 유발시키기 위해 동영상과 음성 등의 멀티미디어 자료를 이용하여 학습내용을 전개하도록 구성하였다. 또한 평가문항은 진단평가를 통해 수준을 분석받고 수준별 평가 문항으로 다운로드 받을 수 있도록 설계하였다. 이 시스템은 다양한 멀티미디어 자료의 제공으로 학습자의 학습동기와 흥미를 유발시키고 수준별 학습을 가능하게 하여 학습 성취감을 증가시킬 수 있다. 그리고 학습자는 이 시스템을 통해 스스로 학습을 선택하고 진행하게 되어 자기주도적 학습능력을 신장시키게 된다.

The Development of Level-Differentiated WBI Program on Weather and Climate Unit and the Analysis of Its Effects in Earth Science Class (일기와 기후 단원의 웹 기반 수준별 학습자료 개발 및 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the level-defferentiated Web Based Instruction(WBI) program, to examine its effects on the science achievement self-directed learning characteristics, and the students’ perceptions on the WBI learning. For this purpose, the advanced and complementary WBI program of level-differentiated curriculum was developed to adapt to class fields and examine instruction facilitating efficiency. Designed and developed the WBI program make it possible to teach students according to the level-differentiated learning for the chapter, ‘weather and climate’ in high school science curriculum. The results of this study are as follows: First, level-differentiated WBI was effective to encourage self-concept, learning eagerness, future-oriented self-apprehension, creativity, self-assessment of the student’s self-directed teaming characteristics. There was no interaction effect of treatment and students’ learning ability at the self-directed learning characteristics. Second, the scores of science achievement of WBI group were significantly higher than those of conventional lecture group. There was interaction effect of treatment and students’ learning ability. However level-differentiated WBI has no effect on openness, initiative, responsibility of the student’s self-directed learning characteristics. There was interaction effect of treatment and students’ learning ability at the science achievement, Third, in the perception questionnaire of WBI teaming, many students showed the WBI teaming was good in terms of causing interaction between learners and web based learning materials including various images and animations. However there are several students who showed learning difficulties. For example they wonder which part is more important and what order is proper to study in hypertext environment.

  • This study is to develop a learning program supporting how to teach multi-level of students in number and operating field in the elementary school. Mathematics requires different teaching ways for various standards of student in the school. However, in most of elementary school teachers are having hard time giving the proper lesson for each student due to the lack of supplementary classes and the excessive numbers of students in a class. Thus this research provides "Game-type learning Program" and supports individual learning lessons to give each student an opportunity to form a correct concept of number and operation. This system sets up suitable steps for each student by checking their leaning progress and accomplishment. When a student has a trouble, can give a help or show specific things which could be related with the matter. As a result, students have got more interests in studying math, furthermore, actually, the help and giving a clue helped students a lot in settling the problems.

  • 최근 교육서비스 시장은 학습자의 수준을 고려한 수준별 교육으로 나아가고 있다. 이때 학습자 수준의 진단을 위하여 다양한 방법의 진단평가가 연구되고 있으며 평가 기준의 언어적 모호함을 해결하기 위해 퍼지 이론을 도입한 평가 방법 역시 하나의 방법으로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨팅 사고력 교육 역시 수준별 교육으로 나아가기 위해 컴퓨팅 사고력 학습을 계층화 하고, 학습자가 학습 시작전 퍼지 추론을 바탕으로 한 진단 평가를 실시하여 학습자 수준에 맞는 교육 커리큘럼의 진입점을 찾아 맞춤형 컴퓨팅 교육을 제공할 수 있도록 하는 퍼지 평가 시스템을 연구·개발한다.

A Development of Teaching Materials for Level Specific Curriculum of High School Science Course (고등학교 과학의 수준별 학습을 위한 교육자료개발)

  • The 7th curriculum which was administered to high school science courses from 2002 asked for a revel specific curriculum. But those curriculums were not developed. The purpose of this research was to develop a level specific curriculum for high school science courses, apply it to high school science courses, and then investigate the effects of this curriculum through the change in attitude towards science and perception towards level specific curriculum. The results are as follows. 1) The two types of level specific curriculum for high school science course was developed. In the first type, the level specific curriculum instruction was conducted in the same class whereas, instruction was divided in the second one, according to the students' intellectual levels. 2) Result on the perception of the test showed that developed level specific curriculum was ineffective in changing the students' attitude towards science, even though they recognized the importance of the curriculum. This was because the students perceive science as a difficult and uninteresting subject.

  • A project-based learning is the model to solve the problem in cooperation with the members of group. The purpose of this study is to make level learning system using a web on the project-based learning. A Web has the proper nature for students to make their learning environment, so that this study embodied student directed to allow them to expand their abilites. All action of students, that is, suggesting main subject, making plans, activating and adjusting them, and evaluation can be happened in this system. Acoording to the result of applying the system, participants in students Directed level Web based Project Learning intend to implement learning activitis more positively, directly, cooperatively than the existing ones.

  • 학생들에게 흥미와 관심을 가지게 하면서 수학수업을 효과적으로 할 수 있는 방법론에 대한문제는 수학교육의 관심사중 하나이다. 그러나 실상 교사들이 현장에서 쉽게 이행할 수 있는 학습자료의 개발이나 그 활용은 미진한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 아동들의 발달수준에 맞는 적절한 경험을 제공하여야 한다는 입장엣 수학적 힘을 기르기 위해 수준별, 개인별 수학학습에 바탕을 두고 학습자 중심의 학습능력을 키울 수 있는 웹 기반 게임형 초등 수학 학습 프로그램을 개발한다. 이 시스템은 학습자 진단평가로 학습자 수준을 판단한 다음 단계로 수준 결과에 따라 Story 학습을 통하여 단계별 학습내용의 기본원리를 설명한다. 그 다음에는 story학습에서 배운 기본원리를 응용하여 학습할 수 있도록 설계된 게임학습을 하게 함으로써 학습자는 능동적인 학습참여와 다양한 수학적 사고를 육성시킬 수 있고, 보다 쉽게 학습목표에 도달할 수 있다.
