An Analysis for Influencing Factors in Purchasing Electric Vehicle using a Binomial Logistic Regression Model (Focused on Suwon City) (이항로지스틱 회귀모형을 이용한 전기차 구매 영향요인 분석 (수원시를 중심으로))

  • An electric vehicle is emerging as an alternative to the response of global climate change and sustainability. However, an Electric vehicle has not been popular due to the constraints such as its price or technical limitations. In order to analyze the effect of purchasing electric vehicles, this study conducted a binary logistic regression model that demonstrates the relation between purchasing and influencing variables. Variables which have high correlation were excluded from the model through the correlation analysis to prevent multicollinearity. Socio-economic variables such as the number of owned vehicles, sex, ages are not significant. On the other hand, Variables related to prices, charging and policy are found to have a significant to effect on the purchase of electric vehicles. In accordance with the model estimated result, it seems to be necessary to improve the charging incentives, or to provide electric car information and to expand opportunities for experience electric vehicles. The result is also expected to be helpful for spreading electric vehicles and formulating policies.

  • Electric cars are expected to increase quality of life by reducing air pollution and to contribute to economic growth by creating new businesses. However, electric car adoption has lagged and has not satisfied public expectation. One of the primary reasons for this outcome is the slow charging speed or inconvenience of charging a battery. Under the insufficient diffusion of electric cars, pushing business entities to construct charging facilities is undesirable for a policy maker to increase the adoption rate because of cost and management issues. This study adopts the design science methodology to interpret the problem of deploying electric car charging stations in the view of information systems. A trip planning algorithm is suggested on the basis of the theory of range anxiety. We investigate issues related to the current charging locations using data from drivers' car navigation devices. We also review its applicability to trip planning to obtain insights.

Effects of Different Fiber Content of Rice on Blood Glucose and Triglyceride Levels in Normal Subject (식이섬유함량이 다른 쌀이 정상인의 혈당과 중성지방에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of different fiber content of rice on blood levels of glucose insulin and triglyceride in normal subject. Ilpum and Suwon 464, which have different fiber content were used for the test. Two types of rice containing 50 g of carbohydrate were pressure-cooked and fed to ten healthy male volunteers after an overnight fast. After a meal, the 60-min blood glucose levels of Suwon 464 and Ilpum were 90.3$\pm$4.8 mg/dL and 111.6$\pm$2.7 mg/dL, respectively (p<0.01). And the 120-min blood insulin levels of Suwon 464 and IlPum were 2.9$\pm$0.8 mg/dL and 7.7$\pm$1.6 mg/dL, respectively (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in triglyceride level between two rice varieties. The calculated glycemic index (GI) was 64.5% for Suwon 464, suggesting that Suwon 464 high in fiber can be useful in low-GI diets.

Productivity Analysis of Single Truss Tomato Production System for Korean Locations (싱글트러스 토마토 생산시스템의 국내 적용을 위한 생산성 분석)

  • Tomato yield and harvest date were analyzed to examine the productivity of Single Truss Tomato Production System(STTPS) for four regions in Korea. It was found that the solar radiation was not sufficient to get the maximum tomato yield during the low light seasons. The difference of total annual yield between Suwon and Jinju regions was about 12kg.m$^{-2}$ . These results indicate that supplemental lights are needed to increase the yield. The availability of natural light should be considered in deciding the locations of tomato greenhouses. The harvest date could be adjusted by using supplemental lighting. The development and implementation of the lighting control strategies are required for reducing electricity expense.

  • This experiment was carried out to study the morphological traits, yield and yield components of barley cultivars - Kangbori, Olbori and Suwon 18 - on different seeding dates. It appeared generally rapid development of young spike from late stage of floret differentiation (X stage) to complete it at heading stage. Young spike appeared more influencials by the different seeding dates rather than years and cultivars. Stem started the development from late stage of spikelet differentiation (VII stage) to early stage of floret differentiation (IX stage), indicating the continuing development from basal to upper internodes. Number of spikes per unit area showed more effect in seeding date rather than cultivar and year. However, number of kernels per spike and 1,000 kernel weight affected more due to years rather than cultivar and seeding date. It was significantly difference in grain yield according to different seeding dates.
