Inflow and outflow analysis of double majors using social network analysis (사회 연결망 분석을 이용한 복수전공 유입 및 유출 분석)

  • Recently, the number of students who get double majors has tended to increase in many universities. As results, many problems occur because immoderate inflow of double-major students is concentrated in a specific popular department. In this paper, we study the characteristic of inflow and outflow of double majors using social network analysis and decision tree analysis. According to the results, SAT score affected the inflow of double majors the most. Additionally, department category, course evaluation score, employment rate also affected the inflow of double majors in the order named. On the other hand, department category affected the outflow of double majors the most. Additionally, SAT score, employment rate, course evaluation score also affected the outflow of double majors in the order named.

A Study on KSAT for Assessing Statistical Literacy by a Comparative Analysis with SAT (대학수학능력시험에서 통계적 소양 평가의 가능성 모색 - SAT 통계 문항과의 비교를 중심으로)

  • In the mathematics curriculum that was revised in 2009, statistical literacy is explicitly addressed as a goal and specific objectives are included. However, statistical literacy has not been addressed in the studies on KSAT. This study aimed to draw implications on how to improve KSAT in a sense that statistical literacy could be evaluated instead of testing typical facts or skills by comparing KSAT with SAT. We used mathematical problem solving process and category of context of PISA framework (OECD, 2013) to administer the comparison of KSAT and SAT. Result shows that both KSAT and SAT use various context, but items in KSAT is limited in assessing critical understanding. We suggested several ways to develop context-based items for KSAT in which statistical literacy could be assessed.

The Compositions and the Characteristics of the Chinese National Test for University Admissions, and the Analysis on Items Concerning Chemistry (중국 대학입학시험의 구성 및 특징과 화학 문항 분석)

  • In this study, we examined the compositions, basic principles, and the area of the National Higher Education Entrance Examination (GaoKao) in 2009, we also analyzed the categories and characteristics of items. Also, the GaoKao was analyzed in terms of test specifications, the number of items, item patterns, difficulty levels, and implications of the College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) were explored. Results show Natural Science section of the National Test 1, 2 are 300 points per 150 min, and Natural Science, and Chemistry of Shanghai is 150 points each per 120 min. Also, the GaoKao contained multiple choice and fill in the blanks questions, and the description items are composed of experiments of various types. The GaoKao Natural Science section is composed of physics, chemistry, biology but not earth science, which is different from the CSAT. GaoKao requires basic understanding or the observation ability to reasoning, the complex thinking ability, especially emphasized on the experiment ability. The range of possible questions is in the examination outline, not the curriculum, and the ratio of questions from the University level is high. In the analysis of the behavioral domain, the ratios of the understanding and application items is higher than the CSAT, and inquiry items is lower, but the inquiry items are deeper. In case of the ratio of the expected correct answer, National Test 1 and National Test 2 is similar, but the difficult items or about 20~39% of the test is 4~5 times to that of the CSAT, making the GaoKao very difficult. The peculiar characteristics of GaoKao is the emphasis on the experiment, and even though the practical items is of lower ratio, they are very useful in life.

대학입시에서의 선택과목 등화에 대한 연구

  • 1999년 대학입학 수학능력고사(이하 수능)부터 새롭게 선택과목제와 표준점수제가 도입된다. 선택과목제는 수리탐구II 영역에서 공통과목외 한 개의 과목을 수험생 개인이 선택해서 보는 것을 의미하고, 표준점수제는 영역별 난이도를 조정하기 위해 각 영역의 원점수를 평균 50, 표준편차 10인 점수로 표준화시키는 것을 뜻한다. 선택과목이 있는 영역의 경우는 난이도차뿐만 아니라 각 선택과목 집단별로 일반적인 학업능력의 차이가 존재할 수 있다. 따라서 점수를 표준화시킬 때 과목별 난이도뿐만 아니라 그룹별 학업능력의 차이도 고려해야 한다. 지금까지 발표된 등화방법은 대표적으로 모수적 방법인 선형등화와 비모수적 방법인 백분위수등화가 있는데 이 두 가지 방법은 모두 각 그룹의 학업능력이 동일하다는 가정 하에 전개되어왔다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 우리 나라 입시상황에 적절한 그룹별 능력차이를 보정한 선형등화와 분위수 등화 방법을 비교해 보았다.

  • The objectives of this study were to inquiry of application types and use methodology of EBS-CSAT prep books of vocation education division in specialized vocational high schools. Research participants are 8 specialized vocational high school teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi, and subjects are basic industry and basic drawing. The teachers had using EBS-CSAT prep books in class or after-school. The results are as follows: The teachers used items explanation of after-school rather than regular classes using EBS-CSAT prep books of vocation education division in specialized vocational high schools. Online lectures were used for self-directed learning of specialized vocational high school students rather than regular classes. Students and teachers of specialized vocational high school needed EBS-CSAT prep books of vocation education division by free gift instead of EBS-CSAT prep books of Korea language, english, math.

History of the College Scholastic Ability Test in Mathematics Section (대학수학능력시험 수학(수리) 영역 변천사)

  • This study is the analysis of the concepts and the characteristics of the mathematics section of the College Scholastic Ability Test. The study starts with division of the history of the College Scholastic Ability Test into four periods. These are Introduction Period(school year 1994-1996), Adjustment Period(school year 1997-2004), Development Period(school year 2005-2011) and Conversion Period(up to present since school year 2012). The periodical division of the Mathematics section is considered as identical with that of the College Scholastic Ability Test. So we investigate the characteristics of the Mathematics section through the periodical classification. This study also proposes some tasks for the future Mathematics section of the College Scholastic Ability Test.

  • 현재, 대학 전산처리 시스템은 COBOL 언어에 의한 처리방식에 의존하므로 전형방법의 다변화와 일련의 교육개혁 조치의 일환인 학사행정 전산화에 대하여 효율적이지 못한 업무처리가 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 입학관리 운용에 대한 업무 처리 시간의 단축, 처리의 정확성 및 수행의 편리성을 제공하는 애플리케이션의 프로토타입을 개발하여 기존의 비능률적인 관리 및 처리를 개선하고자 한다. 전체적인 처리 기법은 서버의 오라클에 입력된 데이터에 대해 입학관리과의 정의된 양식에 따라 위도우즈 환경하에서 각종 통계자료를 출력할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 시스템이 산출하여 제시하는 통계 자료는 입학현황, 지원현황, 성별현황, 수능점수별현황, 고교별현황, 수능최초(최종)평균점 현황등 6가지 종류이다.

  • 외국어학습의 성공여부는 학습자의 강한 동기유발에 달렸는데, 현재 우리나라에서는 영어학습의 강세에 밀려 프랑스어를 포함한 제 2 외국어 학습 열의가 점차 사라져 가고 있는 실정이다. 각 대학에 프랑스어를 전공하는 학과가 존재하는 한, 프랑스어 교육은 계속되어질 것이나, 과거와는 달리 고등학교에서 프랑스어의 기초를 배우고 대학의 프랑스어 학과에 입학하는 학생의 수가 점차 줄어들고 있다. 또한 현재의 대학 입시 제도가 학생들의 학과에 대한 적성 여부와 상관없이 수능성적 결과 점수에 따라 학과를 정하게 되므로 처음부터 프랑스어를 배우고자 하는 동기가 결여된 상태에서 전공 언어 학습을 시작하게 된다. 프랑스어를 가르치면서 현장에서 가장 고심하게 되는 문제는 첫째 학생들에게 어떻게 하면 프랑스어에 대한 흥미를 유발시킬 수 있는가 하는 점이고, 둘째로는 대학 4년이라는 짧은 기간 동안 어떻게 하면 정확한 프랑스어를 학습시킬 수 있는가 하는 것이다.   • The purpose of this thesis is to understand the relationship between the College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) and the Mathematics Level Assessment(MLA) which is conducted in P University. There are high correlations in grades, subject areas and college entrance types between grades of mathematics B-type of the CSAT and scores of the MLA. However, the many students showed substantial differences between the grades in the two tests. On the basis of these analysis results, we suggest plans for improving the implementation of the MLA and the teaching-learning methods about College General Mathematics.
