Employment Rate of the Youth in Korea: An Analysis by Types of Education and Training Institutes (교육훈련기관 유형별 청년층 취업률 분석)

  • This study aims to examine the transition of the youth to the labor market by types of education and training institutes focusing employment rate. To construct the dataset for the analysis, the list of the graduates from 4-year universities, junior colleges, polytechnic colleges and the graduates from vocational training institutes as of February 2001 has been merged with the database for the insured in the Unemployment Insurance Database. This data enables tracking down of these graduates in terms of their mobility in the labor market. For graduates from universities and junior colleges, their scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test have been matched. One of major findings is that the longer the schooling period is, the better the employment results are. Among those who finished 4-year universities, those who went to schools in the metropolitan area achieve a relatively better record in job finding than those who attended schools in the local areas. Meanwhile it is confirmed that the SAT score is highly co-related with the performance in the labor market among those who finished 4-year universities. The co-relation of one's major with his/her employment is not negligible also.

Item Analysis of information-related foundation in the Japanese National Center Test for University Admissions (일본 대학입시센터시험 정보관계기초 문항 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze of Information-related subjects on industry department of college scholastic ability test in Korea and Japan. These were compared with information-related foundation and data-technology foundation, programming on industry department test of vocational education area in college scholastic ability test in Korea and Japan and suggest implications of items development of college scholastic ability test in Korea. Based on the results of study, the following recommendations were made for new direction of items development of college scholastic ability test in Korea. First, Information-related foundation on industry department of National Center for University Entrance Examinations in Japan consisted of basic informations of agricultural, industry, commercial department etc. of vocational education area. Similarly it is necessary to introduce 'computer-related foundation' consist of common contents of several departments of college scholastic ability test in Korea. Second, it is necessary to diverse sub-item situations different from main item situations and introduce diverse situations of set type items of college scholastic ability test in Korea. Third, test for National Center for University Entrance Examinations in Japan consisted of several types items like this selecting answers on multi-answer group. it is necessary to introduce short answer type, completion type and supply type of college scholastic ability test in Korea.

  • 이 논문에서는 한국의 수능 시험에 대응하는 일본 센터 시험의 세계사B 문제를 해결하는 시스템을 만들고 그 성능을 평가했다. 이 시스템은 문제의 각 보기의 신뢰도를 검증하여 어떤 보기가 참인지를 결정한다. 보기 검증을 위해 지식 베이스 기반, 정보 검색 기반, 시간적 제약 기반 검증을 사용하였다. 성능 평과 결과 6개년도 시험 중 5개 시험에서 통계적으로 의미 있는 결과를 얻었다. 이 시스템은 영어를 대상으로 하나, 한국어에도 존재하는 리소스를 사용했기 때문에 한국어에서도 같은 방법론을 적용할 수 있을 것으로 본다. 후속 연구로는 보기의 의미적 분석과 개체명 이외의 정보에 대한 검색이 필요하다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the EBS special lecture, which is an educational application, from a user 's point of view and to propose a direction for improvement of the user experience according to the GUI design. Firstly, we surveyed the theoretical background and service situation through literature review, and secondly, we surveyed the user experience questionnaire based on 7 principles of honeycomb model of Peter Morville. As a result, the EBS special lecture showed improvement of GUI due to lack of visual part in addition to its use. Based on this research, I hope that the service for improvement of the user experience of the education application will be improved in the future and it will be helpful to study the educational application user experience to be conducted in the future.
