  • According to the participants, the current K-MOOC (Korean Massive Open Online Course) has a few problems, such as too few courses, low content quality, and useless learner management system compared to MOOCs abroad. These problems caused diminished learner motivation. Consequently, the K-MOOC service has recorded a low course completion rate despite high expenses spent to develop the contents and thus requires remedies to fix the issues. This study drew research subjects from a pool of college and graduate students representing the primary users of the K-MOOC. This study limited the research scope to the four categories: motivation, learning experience, recognition, and performance of the Biggs' 3P Learning System Model. Based on the literature review, ten variables were selected and explored how the subjects perceived four categories using the survey questionnaire. This study also examined the relationship between ten variables and generated suggestions for the instructors, course managers, and platform developers to make the K-MOOC better.

  • The purpose of this research is to study, through the Delphi method, using an expert panel of 14 persons, effective workforce plans for CCTV applications. The need for professional manpower for activities related to CCTV has emerged through technological development and increased utilization of the CCTV industry sectors. Efficient workforce improvement for the CCTV sector presented in this study are in regards to student education. This study proposes an appropriate description for curriculum and related promotional information. This study should create an environment for overcoming the lack of student involvement and commitment to the environment and ensure training after qualification status after the training provided, including measures to maintain. In order to prevent employee turnover, CCTV training is necessary to actively review government support measures. This study also proposes providing a proper educational environment and supply of replacement staff members brought on by training courses. In terms of education administration bodies, we propose that education and training in CCTV management provide a variety of benefits including participation in education, adequate publicity through cooperation with relevant institutions, and introduces new educational programs. We propose providing adequate training that meets the needs of consumer, as well as education, course selection and expanded curriculum in accordance with operating options and the costs of training. In addition, senior student-selected personnel are needed to address the shortage of operators starting work-experience or training.

  • This study investigated how Problem-Based Learning method effects on students' Self-Regulated Learning Strategies especially for the LIS education. For this purpose, the differences in students' self-regulated learning strategies were examined as a pre and a post survey using the same questionnaire. Correlation between cognitive and motivational self-regulated learning strategies was examined, and the details of the SRL's sub-components were measured to see the effects of Problem-based learning. Statistical significance using the paired sample t-test were also conducted. The results revealed that Problem-based learning is effective in improving students' cognitive motivational self-regulated learning and found out the possibilities for a follow-up study for motivational self-regulated learning.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of learning motivation on interaction in online collaborative learning. The study subjects are 79 university students who take courses in teaching. Learning motivations measured the intrinsic goal orientation, extrinsic goal orientation, tasks value, control of learning beliefs, test anxiety, self-efficacy, goal orientation by MSLQ. Next, the level of interaction was measured by online collaborative tasks. The group for online cooperation tasks consisted of four to five people and random assignment. The level of interaction was used frequency and score that quantitative Value assess. The collected data were analysed using multiple regression analysis(stepwise). As a result, self-efficacy and extrinsic goal orientation, tasks value, mastery goal orientation were positive effect on frequency and score. next, test anxiety and performance avoid goal orientation were negative effect on frequency and score.

  • This research was performed for learning motivation and learning satisfaction of flipped learning on software education in university class. In order to compare and get the result, this study used 2 groups of experimental group(flipped learning) and comparison group(traditional face to face learning). Consequently an experimental group got more strong learning motivation and learning satisfaction than traditional learning group on software education in non-major class of university. It showed at the same time in factors of learning motivation like concentration, importance of subject, self confidence. and on factors pf learning satisfaction like problem solving, reaction, understanding, interest and relation with lecturer, This study showed that flipped learning method is more effective than face to face traditional learning method for creative or problem solving subject like software education.

  • The current study seeks to understand the multi-faceted desires of language learners through the theoretical lens of imagined communities (Norton, 2001). Particularly, the study focuses on the learners of Korean language-one of the less commonly taught languages in the U.S. that has received relatively less attention in previous literature on second language motivation. The study analyzed and compared the narratives told by eleven Korean language learners in a post-secondary language program, and identified four types of imagined communities: Communities of K-pop Culture, Communities of Professionals, Communities of Korean Family and Relatives, and Communities of ethnic Koreans. The study found that these imagined communities were not restricted to a specific region or an ethnic group but encompassed various populations connected through the use of Korean language. The study also found variability within what has been readily labelled as heritage motivation (or motivation related to heritage), as well as striking differences between heritage language learners and non-heritage language learners in terms of their scope of imagination.

  • Programming learning has been recognized as a difficult subject for a long time. To solve these problems, various studies have been conducted. This study was conducted on motivation to break away from programming learning according to gender, one of the characteristics of learners. In this study, pre-post questionnaire surveys were conducted for male students and female students who were involved in scratch learning and Python learning. The results of the study showed that male students had higher confidence in programming learning than female students, but there was no significant difference in overall items. In addition, it was possible to find the difference in motivation to break out from the learning according to the major of students by gender. Through this study, it is expected that it will be helpful to prepare learning strategies to enhance learning motivation and satisfaction by considering learner characteristics in programming learning.

Subjects were 135 middle school students enrolled at a Center for Science Gifted and Talented Education. There was no difference among talented divisions according to science related attitudes. But the score of the female students were higher than that of the male in learning motivation and learning strategy. Some significant correlation coefficients were between learning motivation and learning strategy. Also significant correlation coefficients were among 'career interest in science' domain, 'leisure interest in science' and 'social implication of science.'

  • This study investigates how the emotion-based learning motivation enhancement program influences learning motivation and social support of college students. The developed final program consists of Learning Motivation I, Learning Coaching, and Learning Motivation II, which has 12 sessions. In each session, every student was guided to have reflection time by writing self-evaluation and reflection paper. The participants were 38 students majoring in engineering at K-college located in G city who took one liberal arts subject based on psychology during the 1st semester in 2016 and who were divided into an experimental group (19 students) and a control group (19 students) by non-probability sampling method. In the experimental group, emotion-based learning motivation enhancement program was totally processed 12 times, one class in a week, by one main lecturer and one assistant lecturer. For data analysis, independent sample t-tests, paired samples t-tests, and review analysis were conducted. The study results are as follows. First, the experimental group participating in emotion-based learning motivation enhancement program had more significant differences in learning motivation, and both self-confidence and self-contentment among sub-components than the control group. Second, the experimental group had no significant differences in social support, compared with the control group. The impression writing analysis of the experimental group showed that this program affected learning motivation and social support. Lastly, the study discussions and implications are described.

  • This study was to investigate the understand learning motivation, self-directed learning ability and problem solving process of fundamentals of nursing course using role play in evaluating the course. The subjects were 289 nursing students in year 1 in J college taking fundamental nursing practice course from Nov. 22 to Dec. 10. 2010. After setting hospital context and preparing scenario with patient and nurse roles, the evaluation of fundamentals of nursing practice was performed. For learning motivation and self-directed learning ability, there were significant differences by application motivation, a group intending further study and a group positive in role play evaluation. For problem solving process, there were significant differences in male group and a group positive in role play evaluation. Learning motivation had significant positive correlation between self-directed learning ability and between self-directed learning ability and problem solving process. This evaluation had correlation between learning motivation, self-directed learning ability and problem solving process.
