  • The suspension insulators are subjected to harsh environment in service for a long time. Long term reliability of the insulators is required for both mechanical and electrical performances. We studied an analysing method to find out a deformation of brittle porcelain with a thermal expansion of simulation analysis and experimental results show that cement volume growths affect severely to be mechanical failure ageing.

  • The effect of heat treatment on torsion characteristics of high nitrogen steel wire has been studied by torsion test, tensile test, specific resistivity, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. After heat treatment at 600∼$700^{\circ}C$, torsion cycle was increased with increasing temperature. Especially, in case of high nitrogen steel wire heat teated at $650^{\circ}C$, torsion cycle was sharply increased. It is estimated that cold worked high nitrogen steel wire started to recrystallize and phase transform at 64$0^{\circ}C$ in air atmosphere.

  • This paper describes a type test results of 154 kV transmission line arrester with external gap. The test was carried on surge arrester unit and line arrester with external gap, respectively. Withstand voltage test demonstrate the voltage withstand capability of the line arrester with external series gap under the dry and wet conditions. In insulation coordination test external series gap shall be discharged every time when lightning impulse voltage with the steepness of more than 1500 $kV/{\mu}s$ are applied under the wet condition.

Al-0.24Zr 합금 도체의 물성향상에 미치는 제 3원소의 영향 (Effects of 3rd Element Addition on the Property Improvement of Al-Zr Conductor Wire)

  • 본 연구에서는 송전선용 내열 Al합금인 Al-Zr합금의 내열성과 도전율을 동시에 향상시키기 위해 제 3원소(Mm(misch metal), Ag, Be)를 첨가하고 이것에 의한 물성변화를 공정별로 추적분석 하였다. 본 연구에 의해 측정된 주요 물성은 공정에 따른 미세조직 변화와 경도 및 도전율 둥이 측정, 조사되었다. 연구결과, Mm첨가에 의해 주조조직은 미세화 되었으며 경도와 도전율은 향상되었다. Be첨가에 의해서는 급냉 후 주조조직이 조대화 하였고 주조상태에서 이미 60%IACS에 근접하는 우수한 도전율을 나타내었다. 또한 주조 후 열처리 과정에서 주조조직의 분해는 촉진되었으며 시효석출과정에서는 $Al_3Zr$상의 석출은 억제되었다. 그러나 Al-Zr합금에 대한 Ag의 첨가는 경도와 도전율 모두에서 큰 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 판단되었다.

송전선용 비접촉식 커플러의 설계와 적용연구 (Study on Design and Application of an Inductive Coupler for Power Transmission Line)

  • An inductive coupler, which feeds communication to the electric power transmission line, is required to establish Power Line Communication(PLC). The electro-magnetic property of magnetic core and design technology for coupler are very important to manufacture an inductive coupler for power transmission line. The magnetic core with superior electro-magnetic property was manufactured by using nanocrystalline alloy and an inductive coupler, which can operate at the maximum 2,000 A current, was designed and manufactured by establishment of current saturation, signal out winding, and electromagnetic simulation in this study. Communication speed of 14 Mbps in 600 meter communication distance of the real electric power transmission line was obtained by using the inductive coupler and application possibility of the inductive coupler for the electric power transmission line was certified.

  • Outage caused by contaminated insulator on high voltage transmission line and in substation is major concern for utility world-wide. To prevent these outages, it is necessary to develop an automatic salt contamination detecting device which provide the information about contamination level on utility for engineer to meet the emergency in advance. For that purpose, we have been developing an automatic salt contamination detecting device to monitor a salt amount on operating power utility area. In the salt contamination detecting device development, the most important thing is the sensor which can detect a salt amount and the understanding of sensor' s detecting principle. This paper describes the operating principle of the sensor and the experimental results about the detecting of salt amount. The results of this experiment wi1l be useful for detecting the contamination level.

  • In order to study the mechanical properties of high nitoren steel with ageing time, hardness, tensile stress several basic properties of Fe-Mn-Cr-Ni-N steel have been studied. With increasing partial pressure of nitrogen and ageing time to 10h, hardness and tensile stress are increased, but decreased beyond 10h because of over ageing. It is considered that the main factor related with mechnical properties is carbide precipitate, $M_7C_3$ which is precipitated with ageing time in matrix and optimum ageing time is 10h in $60^{\circ}C$.
