Study on a LTCC Diplexer Design for GSM/CDMA Applications (GSM/CDMA 대역용 LTCC Diplexer 설계 연구)

  • In this paper, a diplexer circuit to separate GSM/CDMA band is designed using a LTCC (Low Temperature Cofired Ceramic) multi-layer technology. In order to increase a integration capability of the diplexer, it is designed in 6-layer LTCC sunstrate with a elative dielectric constant of 7.2 using 3-dimensional (3-D) multi-layer inductors and capacitors. The size of the designed diplexer including CB-CPW pads is $3,450{\times}4,000{\times}600{\mu}m^3$. An insertion loss (IL) and return loss of GSM band are less than -0.23dB and -10dB, respectively. In the case of CDMA band, the IL of -0.53dB and RL of below -10dB are archieved.

  • (Voice)Phishing against the old or weak person used the method which is social engineering in the object and financial structure and function. Until recently (voice)Phishing from Chaina caused economic devastation and the economic loss by Phishing grows with the South Korean whole. Korean government and organizations involved have been strengthening protection system and a financial security device. But it is not easy to verify how much effects of security measures are. In this paper we will study the economic loss caused by (voice)Phishing and economic efficiency of security measures and security device reinforcement of the Republic of Korea.

  • In this paper, we analyze the radio propagation path loss characteristics for the vertical electric dipole radiation over the perfect electric conductor(PEC) ground plane. Most research have been performed about the electromagnetic analysis of vertical electric dipole in free space for time domain or frequency domain. But this paper present the radio propagation path loss over PEC ground plane in time domain under the assumption of the vertical electric dipole as a base station. From the simulated results, the ground plane effect can change the location of near field from transmitting antenna and the transient responses at mobile are calculated. The results of this paper can be applied to surface radar or signal processing applications.

  • Even though a lot of researches to improve the performance of TCP over wireless networks have been performed, the performance of TCP cannot satisfy users under high packet loss rate of wireless networks. This paper addresses the problem of TCP Westwood under high packet loss rate and reveals the reasons through the extensive simulation analysis. The ABE(Available Bandwidth Estimation) of TCP westwood becomes incorrect due to TCP dynamics of loss recovery. Based on this observation, we propose two algorithms for enhancing the correctness of ABE. We have evaluated the effects of the proposed algorithms through simulation. The proposed algorithms have achieved more correct ABE under the packet loss rate less than 1%.

  • 인터넷의 발전에 따라 다자간 그룹 통신 환경이 주목을 받게 되었고 이를 위해 다대다 멀티캐스트를 이용한 통신 기법들이 제안되었다. 이들 중 GAM (Group Aided Multicast) 은 다대다 멀티캐스트의 신뢰적 전달을 보장하기 위해 트리 기반의 손실 복구 기법을 제안하고, 제어 트리 관리 비용과 손실 복구 효율성간의 접점을 찾기 위해 그룹 개념을 도입하고 그룹의 대표로서 코어 노드를 정의한다. 코어 노드는 네트워크 상의 특정 지점에 미리 설치된 전용 노드로서 그룹 내의 손실 복구와 그룹 간의 손실 제어를 담당한다. 그러나 이러한 전용 코어 노드의 도입은 프로토콜의 가용성을 제한하고 코어 노드의 설치 부담을 가지게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 별도의 코어 노드의 설치 없이 프로토콜이 동작할 수 있도록 세션 참가자 중에서 코어 노드를 동적으로 선택하고, 로컬 그룹 노드 중에서 제어 트리의 효율성을 최대한 보장하는 노드의 위치를 결정하는 기법을 제안한다.

  • The conventional transport layer protocol TCP is designed to work under condition of packet loss is due to the network congestion, so that it's suitable in the traditional wired network with fixed hosts but it's inefficient on the wireless network where the environment of fading, noise, and transmission error comes from interference. This result from the needless transmission control of the bit error is due to treats the packet loss as a packet congestion control in the wireless network. In this paper, we propose the advanced SNOOP protocol with the consecutive packet loss and TCP window control to avoid the needless congestion management algorithm in wireless network for the wireless TCP packet transmission enhancement. We verify the performance of the advanced module from the simulation experiment result.

  • In this paper, we measured and examined RTT delays and packet losses according to the changes of stationary loads for two typical stream-type traffics, a DV and a MPGE2 on the R&D Gigabit Network testbed, JGN. As the result of our actual measurements, we realized that the packet size of stationary load have no effects on a DV and a MPGE2 stream on the very high-speed network(50Mbps, IP over ATM). When its bandwidth and stationary load exceeds 95% of network bandwidth, packet losses appeared and RTT delay increased rapidly. Also we realized that the number and size of Receive & Transmit buffer on the end systems have no effects on packet losses and RTT delays.

TFRC Congestion Control for Mobile Streaming Services Based on Guaranteed Minimum Transmission Rate (모바일 스트리밍 서비스를 위한 최소전송률 보장 기반 TFRC 혼잡제어)

  • In this paper we propose a TFRC(TCP Friendly Rate Control) which guarantees a minimum rate in order to improve the efficiency of the previous TFRC which cannot distinguish congestion losses and wireless losses and decreases throughput both in wired and wireless networks. This TFRC technique is able to guarantee a minimum rate for video by restricting a loss event rate with packet loss probability about existing TFRC and constraining a rate reduction from the feedback timeout. When we experimented both the existing TFRC and the new one with TCP in the same network, we found that the latter is better than the former. Consequently, it shows that the proposed TFRC can improve video streaming quality using a guaranteed minimum transmission rate.
