PMI(Privilege Management Infrastructure) certificates as well as Public-Key certificates must be validated before being used. Validation for a PMI certificate requires PMI certificate path validation, and PKC(Public-Key Certificate) path validations for each entity in the PMI certificate path. This validation work is quite complex and burdened to PMI certificate verifiers. Therefore, this paper suggests a delegated PMI certificate validation that uses specialized validation server, and defines a validation protocol which is used between validation server and client.

An ID certificate is digitally signed by a certificate authority for authentication and an attribute certificate is digitally signed by an attribute certificate authority for authorization. In many applications in web, there should be a mechanism to bind attributes to proper identities. The dependencies between them should be maintained. So we analyzed some known binding methods, selective revocation methods and cryptographic binding methods. And we proposed a binding mechanism using one-time attribute certificates in order to solve their problems.

Existent public key certificates provide authentication information through some information on user\`s public key. However, an attribute certificate which stores and manage user\`s attribute information, provides various privilege information such as position, privilege and role. In recent, international organizations establishes standards on attribute certificate, and the researches and developments on attribute certificate have been widely made. In addition it may be expected to be used many real application area requiring for authorization information as well as authentication information. Therefore, this paper considers background and standardization trends of attribute certificate and describes the profile and related techniques of attribute certificate currently established by IETF. In addition, it introduces and access control system using attribute certificate and specifies applications of attribute certificate.

권한 관리 기반 구조(PMI: Privilege Management Infrastructure)란 공개키 기반 구조(PKI: Public key Infrastructure) 와 연동되어 온라인 상에서 사용자의 신원정보와 권한 또는 속성 정보를 연결하여 자원에 대한 접근 관리를 효율적이고 안전하게 할 수 있도록 해주는 정보 보호 인프라이다. 이러한 권한 관리 기반 구조에서 사용되는 인증서를 속성 인증서(Attribute Certificate) 또는 PMI 인증서라고 부른다. 속성 인증서가 기반 구조 내에서 통용되어 사용되기 위해서는 표준화 기관에서 정의한 표준 규격을 따라야 하며 유효성을 해치지 않는 올바른 값들로 인증서 내용이 채워져 있어야 한다. 이와 같이 특정 단체나 어플리케이션에 의해 생성·사용되는 속성 인증서 등이 기반 구조내의 개체들 간에 서고 호환되어 사용될 수 있는지 검사하는 것을 적합성 평가라고 한다. 본 연구에서는 속성 인증서 및 인증서 요청 메시지의 적합성 평가를 위한 평가 시스템을 구성하고 평가 시 요구되는 평가 항목 및 평가 기준을 정의한다.

정보통신기술의 발달로 인터넷상의 PKC를 사용한 전자거래가 활성화되었다. 이에 따라 실질적으로 Web Server나 Database Server에 접속하기 위한 접근통제의 방안으로 속성인증서에 대한 연구도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 현재 제안되고 있는 CRL(Certificate Revocation List) 및 OCSP를 이용한 공개키인증서 검증방법은 속성인증서의 인증상태확인과 적용시킬 수 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 공개키인증서 검증방법인 OCSP 방법에 속성인증서 검증방법을 포함시킴으로서, 공개키인증서와 속성인증서간의 동기문제를 해결하고자 한다.

공개키기반구조(Public Key Infrastructure, PKI)는 인터넷 전자상거래를 위한 정보보호 기반구조로써 많이 활용되고 있다. 그러나 공개키 인증서는 사용자의 신원확인 정보만을 제공하기 때문에 사용자의 신원확인 정보뿐만 아니라 사용자의 권한 정보가 필요한 일반 응용 환경에서는 그 사용이 제한적일 수밖에 없다. 따라서 최근에는 사용자의 권한, 지위, 임무 등과 같은 사용자의 속성 정보를 제공하여 공개키 인증서의 제한적인 기능을 확장하려는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 고에서는 인증서 구조에 사용자에 대한 속성 정보를 제공하여 권한 관리가 가능하도록 하는 속성 인증서 기술과 속성 인증서를 발급, 저장 유통을 제어하는 기반구조인 권한관리기반구조 (Privilege Management Infrastructure, PMI)에 대하여 설명한다.

For an efficient role based access control in highly distributed computing environment to reduce management cost, we utilize attribute certificates. Especially highly distributed computing environments such as ubiquitous computing environments which cannot have global or broad control, need another attribute certificate management technique. The techniques for transmission of the attribute certificates and management of the group keys should be considered to reduce management cost. For better performance we structure attribute certificates. We group roles and make the role group relation tree. It results secure and efficient role renewing and distribution. For scalable attribute certificate distribution, multicasting packets are used. We take into account the packet loss and quantifying performance enhancements of structuring attribute certificates.

인터넷상의 안전한 전자상거래에 효과적인 인증/인가 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 공개키기반구조와 권한관리기반구조의 효율적인 연동이 필요하며 이를 위해서는 먼저 공개키 인중서와 속성인증서의 연동이 필요하다. 그러나 현재까지는 공개키 인중서와 속성인중서의 프로파일에 대한 독자적인 연구만 진행되고 상호간의 구체적인 연동방법 및 시나리오에 대하여 기술하고 있지는 않다.[6],[7] 따라서 본 논문에서는 공개키 인증서와 속성인증서의 연동 방법의 요구사항을 정의하고 설계와 모델을 보임으로써 효과적인 인증/인가 서비스 제공 모델의 가능성을 제시한다.

With the development of Information Communication Technique, electronic commerce is widely used in internet using public key certificates. And the study for access control in database system is also progressed actively. In this paper, we analyze access control mechanism using attribute certificated and we propose new access mechanism in distributed system using attribute certificates.
