  • This study proposes a method to measure software reliability according to software reliability measurement model to measure software reliability. The model presented in this study uses the distribution of Non - Homogeneous Poisson Process and presents a measure of the software reliability of the presented model. As a method to select a suitable software reliability growth model according to the presented model, we have studied a method of proposing an appropriate software reliability function by calculating the mean square error according to the estimated value of the reliability function according to the software failure data. In this study, we propose a reliability function to measure the software quality and suggest a method to select the software reliability function from the viewpoint of minimizing the error of the estimation value by applying the failure data.

  • In the software development process, software reliability evaluation is a very important issue. In particular, finding the optimal development model that satisfies high reliability is the more important task for software developers. For this, in this study, Pareto and Erlang life distributions were applied to the finite failure NHPP model to evaluate the reliability attributes. For this purpose, parametric estimation is applied to the maximum likelihood estimation method, and nonlinear equations are calculated using the bisection method. As a result, the Erlang model showed better performance than the Pareto model in the evaluation of the strength function and the mean value function. Also, as a result of inputting future mission time and evaluating reliability, the Erlang model showed an effectively high trend together with the Pareto model, while the Goel-Okumoto basic model showed a decreasing trend. In conclusion, the Erlang model is the best model among the proposed models. Through this study, it is expected that software developers will be able to use it as a basic guideline for exploring and evaluating the optimal software reliability model.

  • An important quality characteristic of a software reliability.Software reliablilty growh models prvied the tools to evluate and moniter the reliabolty growth behavior of the sofwate during the testing phase Therefore failure data collected during the testing phase should be continmuosly analyzed on the basis of some selected software reliability growth models. For the cases where nonhomogeneous Poisson proxess models are the candiate models,we suggest Poisson regression model, which expresses the relationship between the expeted and actual failures counts in disjonint time intervals, for analyzing the failure count data. The weighted lest squares method is then used to-estimate the paramethers in the parameters in the model:The resulting estimators are equivalent to the maximum likelihood estimators. The method is illustrated by analyzing the failutr count data gathered from a large- scale switchong system.

  • The various models that estimate the reliability of application software system had been made. But most of the existing models are inconvenient to industrial fields because so complicated mathematic methods as method of estimation parameter have been used. The two purposes of this paper are to develop the reliability estimation model which was easily applied to industrial fields, and to prove no differences between the existing models and the developed model. Therefore the reliability of software system and handled informations are upgraded by far.

  • Science and technology is developing rapidly as more powerful software with the rapid development of software testing and reliability assessment by the difficulty increases with the complexity of the software features of the larger increases NHPP software reliability models for failure analysis can have, in the literature, exhibit either constant, monotonic increasing or monotonic decreasing failure occurrence rates per fault. In this paper, finite failure NHPP models that assuming the expected value of the defect and infinite failures NHPP models that repairing software failure point in time reflects the situation, were presented for comparing property. Commonly used in the field of software reliability based on Erlang distribution software reliability model finite failures and infinite failures were presented for performance comparative evaluation problem. As a result, finite failure model is better than infinite failure model effectively. The parameters estimation using maximum likelihood estimation in the course of this study was conducted. As the results of this research, software developers to identify software failure property be able to help is concluded.

  • Software reliability is one of the most basic and essential problems in software development. In order to detect the software failure phenomenon, the intensity function, which is the instantaneous failure rate in the non-homogeneous Poisson process, can have the property that it is constant, non-increasing or non-decreasing independently at the failure time. In this study, was compared the reliability performance of the software reliability model using the Landely lifetime distribution with the intensity function decreasing pattern and Erlang lifetime distribution from increasing to decreasing pattern in the software product testing process. In order to identify the software failure phenomenon, the parametric estimation was applied to the maximum likelihood estimation method. Therefore, in this paper, was compared and evaluated software reliability using software failure interval time data. As a result, the reliability of the Landely model is higher than that of the Erlang distribution model. But, in the Erlang distribution model, the higher the shape parameter, the higher the reliability. Through this study, the software design department will be able to help the software design by applying various life distribution and shape parameters, and providing software reliability attributes data and basic knowledge to software reliability model using software failure analysis.

  • Due to the large-scale application software syslmls, software reliability, software development has animportantrole. In this paper, software truncated software reliability growth model was proposed based on log-logistic distribution. According to fixed time, the intensity function, the mean value function, the reliability was estimated and the parameter estimation used to maximum likelihood. In the empirical analysis, Poisson execution time model of the existiog model in this area and the log-logistic model were compared Because log-logistic model is more efficient in tems of reliability, in this area, the log-logistic model as an alternative 1D the existiog model also were able to confim that you can use.

  • This paper, following the shape parameters of the minimax distribution, describes the special form of the beta distribution, the Minimax distribution, as a function of the shape parameters for the software reliability model based on the non-homogeneous Poisson process. Characteristics and usefulness were discussed. As a result, the case of the shape parameter 1 of Minimax distribution than less than and greate in mean squared error is the smallest, in determination coefficient, appears to be high, the shape parameter 1 of Minimax distribution regard as an efficient model. The estimated determination coefficient of the proposed model is estimated to be more than 95%, which is a useful model in the field of software reliability. Through this study, software design and users can identify the software failure characteristics using mean square error, decision coefficient, and confidence interval can be used as a basic guideline.

  • This paper presents a stochastic model for the software failure phenomenon based on a nonhomogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). The failure process is analyzed to develop a suitable mean value function for the NHPP ; expressions are given for several performance measure. Actual software failure data are compared with generalized model by Goel dependent on the constant reflecting the quality of testing. The performance measures and parametric inferences of the new models, Rayleigh and Gumbel distributions, are discussed. The results of the new models are applied to real software failure data and compared with Goel-Okumoto and Yamada, Ohba and Osaki models. Tools of parameter inference was used method of the maximun likelihood estimate and the bisection algorithm for the computing nonlinear root. In this paper, using the sum of the squared errors, model selection was employed. The numerical example by NTDS data was illustrated.
