An Object Extraction Technique for Object Reusability Improvement based on Legacy System Interface (객체 재사용성 향상을 위한 레거시 시스템 인터페이스 기반 객체추출 기법)

  • This paper suggests a technique, TELOR(Technique of Object Extraction Based on Legacy System Interface for Improvement of Object Reusability) for reuse and reengineering by analyzing the Legacy System interface to distill the meaningful information from them and disassemble them into object units which are to be integrated into the next generation systems. The TELOR method consists of a 4 steps procedure: 1) the interface use case analysis step, 2) the interface object dividing step, 3) the object structure modeling step, and 4) the object model integration step. In step 1, the interface structure and information about the interaction between the user and the Legacy System are obtained. In step 2, the interface information is divided into semantic fields. In step 3, studies and models the structural and collaborative relationship among interface objects. Finally, in step 4, object model integration step, integrates the models and improves the integrated model at a higher level. The objects integration model created through TELOR provides a more efficient understanding of the Legacy System and how to apply it to next generation systems.

A Next Generation Electronic Bulletin Board Supporting N-Screen for a College Information System (대학정보시스템을 위한 N-Screen 지원 차세대 전자게시판)

  • The information delivery and transmission media(DID or PID) market is making remarkable growth as the high-speed networks are spreading and LCD/LED TVs are more and more popularized, and display devices are increasingly large and high-definition. In addition, the popularization of smart devices and the expansion of the information delivery and transmission media market make a demand for N-Screen in content service. Colleges and universities have installed and operated various types of DID to promote their schools and departments and deliver information about them, still remaining in the level of media content implementation. So, we implement and evaluate a next-generation electronic bulletin board for each department that allows for interactive N-Screen communication based on the integration of smart phone and internet. This board enhanced efficiency as supporting N-Screen, inserting and deleting the contents at real time and offering bidirectional communication.

Contactless Biometric Using Thumb Image (엄지손가락 영상을 이용한 비접촉식 바이오인식)

  • Recently, according to the limelight of Fintech, simple payment using biometric at smartphone is widely used. In this paper, we propose a new contactless biometric method using thumb image without additional sensors unlike previous biometrics such as fingerprint, iris, and vein recognition. In our method, length, width, and skin texture information are used as features. For that, illumination normalization, skin region segmentation, size normalization and alignment procedures are sequentially performed from the captured thumb image. Then, correlation coefficient is calculated for similarity measurement. To analyze recognition accuracy, genuine and imposter matchings are performed. At result, we confirmed the FAR of 1.68% at the FRR of 1.55%. In here, because the distribution of imposter matching is almost normal distribution, our method has the advantage of low FAR. That is, because 0% FAR can be achieved at the FRR of 15%, the proposed method is enough to 1:1 matching for payment verification.

  • In general, such ground based methods are utilized to validate maneuvering and attitude control logics of a spacecraft by a simulation with a flight software at a design phase and a integrated function test with actual hardwares at a system level. Recently, varification researches using operating simulators are getting increase using compact and precise components under a ground condition. The present paper investigates and summarized the development trend of cold gas propulsion systems for the spacecraft simulators and their major performance characteristics to derive fundamental data which are necessary for a conceptual design of the simulator.

  • Referring expressions are natural language constructions used to identify particular objects within a scene. In this paper, we propose a new deep neural network model for referring expression comprehension. The proposed model finds out the region of the referred object in the given image by making use of the rich information about the referred object itself, the context object, and the relationship with the context object mentioned in the referring expression. In the proposed model, the object matching score and the relationship matching score are combined to compute the fitness score of each candidate region according to the structure of the referring expression sentence. Therefore, the proposed model consists of four different sub-networks: Language Representation Network(LRN), Object Matching Network (OMN), Relationship Matching Network(RMN), and Weighted Composition Network(WCN). We demonstrate that our model achieves state-of-the-art results for comprehension on three referring expression datasets.

  • As the development type of domestic technology on information & communications have changed from following development to leading devalopment, developing new technology and creating new market through securing basic technology and IPR has been more essential than ever before. At the same time, it is required to increase the possibility of commercialization on developed technology. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate the consensus on the value and function of project at project planning phase for creative & innovative idea to be adopted into project and to be performed successfully. Accordingly, this paper proposes use case developing methodology adopted to creative & innovative project by analysing use case developing method in software engineering. Also, new methodology is appled to LASA display developing project to prove the reliability. Since the demands on new technology is henceforth expected to increase gradually, it is necessary to continue to study on the methodology of being more formal and logically related between phases as well as on that of analysing relationship among use cases and proving logical reliability of use case.

Affine Invariant Local Descriptors for Face Recognition (얼굴인식을 위한 어파인 불변 지역 서술자)

  • Under controlled environment, such as fixed viewpoints or consistent illumination, the performance of face recognition is usually high enough to be acceptable nowadays. Face recognition is, however, a still challenging task in real world. SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transformation) algorithm is scale and rotation invariant, which is powerful only in the case of small viewpoint changes. However, it often fails when viewpoint of faces changes in wide range. In this paper, we use Affine SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transformation; ASIFT) to detect affine invariant local descriptors for face recognition under wide viewpoint changes. The ASIFT is an extension of SIFT algorithm to solve this weakness. In our scheme, ASIFT is applied only to gallery face, while SIFT algorithm is applied to probe face. ASIFT generates a series of different viewpoints using affine transformation. Therefore, the ASIFT allows viewpoint differences between gallery face and probe face. Experiment results showed our framework achieved higher recognition accuracy than the original SIFT algorithm on FERET database.

Optimal Design of the Steel Wheel's Disc Hole Using Approximation Function (근사함수를 이용한 스틸휠의 디스크 홀의 최적화)

  • Wheel for passenger car support the car weight with tires, and they transmit rolling and braking power into the ground. Whittling away at wheel weight is more effective to boost fuel economy than lighting vehicle body structure. A shape of hole in disk is optimized for minimizing the weight of steel wheel. Pro/ENGINEER program is used for formulating the design model, and ANSYS package is selected for analyzing the design model. It has difficulties to interface these commercial software directly. For Combining both programs, response surface methodology is applied to construct approximation functions for maximum stresses and maximum displacements are obtained by full factorial design of five levels. This steel wheel is modeled in 14-inch diameter of rim, and wide parameter of hole in disk is only selected as design variable for reducing the weight of steel whee. PLBA(Pshenichny-Lim-Belegundu-Arora) algorithm, which used the second-order information in the direction finding problem and uses the active set strategy, is used for solving optimization problems.

  • As creativity and problem-solving ability become core competencies, the main objectives of programming subjects in the elementary and secondary educational curriculum is 'computational thinking'. This goal can not be achieved at the level of understanding the characteristics of the programming language and the simple utilization abilities of the computer. The abilities to write algorithms and solve problems in real life situations using programming languages are required. In order to cultivate these abilities, the curriculum of the programming area was strengthened in the elementary and middle education curriculum, and the criteria for evaluating the achievement level were also prepared. However, the curriculum that can be used in actual education field is not yet established. In this study, we analyzed the researches on the existing programming curriculum and evaluated how well the curriculum meets the achievement criteria. Also, we can suggest the aspects to be considered in the study of programming curriculum and to verify whether the results of curriculum operation are in line with achievement criteria. In addition, future directions in elementary and middle school programming curriculum are suggested.

The Influence of Software Engineering Levels on Defect Removal Efficiency (소프트웨어공학수준이 결함제거효율성에 미치는 영향)

  • The role of software process is getting more important to make good quality softwares. One of the measures to improve the software process is Defect Removal Efficiency(DRE). DRE gives a measure of the development team ability to remove defects prior to release. It is calculated as a ratio of defects resolved to total number of defects found. Software Engineering Levels are usually decided by CMMI Model. The model is designed to help organizations improve their software product and service development, acquisition, and maintenance processes. The score of software engineering levels can be calculated by CMMI model. The levels are composed of the three groups(absent, average, and advanced). This study is to find if there is any difference among the three categories in term of the result of software engineering levels on DRE. We propose One way ANOVA to analyze influence of software engineering levels on DRE. Bootstrap method is also used to estimate the sampling distribution of the original sample because the data are not sampled randomly. The method is a statistical method for estimating the sampling distribution of an estimator by sampling with replacement from the original sample. The data were collected in 106 software development projects by the survey. The result of this study tells that there is some difference of DRE among the groups. The higher the software engineering level of a specific company becomes, the better its DRE gets, which means that the companies trying to improve software process can increase their good management performance.
