Fabrication of Ultra-fine Rhodium Wire Using Multi-pass Wire Drawing Process (다단 신선공정을 이용한 초극세 로듐 와이어 제조)

  • The aim of this study is to fabricate an ultra-fine pure rhodium wire using multi-pass wire drawing process. To manufacture $30{\mu}m$ ultra-fine rhodium wire from the initial $50{\mu}m$ wire, a multi-pass wire drawing process was designed based on the uniform reduction ratio theory. The elastic-plastic finite element analysis was then conducted to validate the efficacy of the designed process. The drawing load, drawing stress, and the distribution of the effective strain were evaluated using the finite element analysis. Finally, the wire drawing experiment was performed to validate the designed wire drawing process. From the results of the experiment, the diameter of the final drawn wire was found to be $29.85{\mu}m$.

  • In multi-stage cold forging process, to enhance the productivity and product quality, in-site process monitoring technique by implanting sensors such as piezo-sensor and acoustic emission sensor has been continuously studied. For accurate analysis of the process, the selection of appropriate sensors and implantation positions are very important. Until now, in a multi-state forging machine, wedge parts located at the end of punch-set are used but it is difficult to analyze minute changes in die block-set. In this study, we also implanted sensors to the die part (die spacer) and compared signals from both sensors and found that sensing signals from die part showed enhanced process monitoring results.

NOx removal of Mn-Cu-TiO2 catalyst for the calcination and oxygen concentration conditions (소성 및 산소농도 조건에 대한 Mn-Cu-TiO2 촉매의 탈질 특성)

  • DeNOx catalysts composed of Mn, Cu and $TiO_2$ were prepared and tested for $NH_3$-SCR. The performance of each catalyst was studied for the NOx removal efficiency while changing the calcination temperature, reaction time, and oxygen concentration. The hydrogen conversion efficiency of a calcined catalyst was measured at the $H_2$-TPR system. The change in the specific surface area of catalyst according to the calcination temperature was analyzed. As a result, the proper calcination temperature was approximately $300^{\circ}C$. If the calcination temperature is increased to $500^{\circ}C$, the NOx removal efficiency of Mn and Cu constituents is largely decreased at the low temperature range. Oxygen in flue gas is an important parameter in the SCR reaction and optimal oxygen concentration is approximately 8 vol.%.

소성가공 공정의 컴퓨터 응용설계를 위한 제반 과제

  • 소성가공 공정설계의 컴퓨터를 이용한 최적설계를 위하여 선결되어야 기술적 과제를 (i) 구성방 정식, (ii) 윤활 및 마찰조건, 그리고 (iii) 적응적 유한요소망 재구성법 등 3가지 분야로 대별하여 논의하였다. 적절히 선택된 마찰/구속조건 등 경계조건 (boundary condition) 과 적절한 유한 요소망의 구성을 통하여 최종제품의 형상을 만들어내기 위한 금형의 형상 등을 유한요소법으로 해석하여 공정설계상의 시행착오의 범위와 횟수를 줄일 수 있다(7,8). 또 하나의 예로서 자동 차의 자체 등 비교적 대형의 판재가공에서 펀치에 의한 본격적인 가공행정이 이루어지기 전에 판재 자체가 중력에 의하여 처지게 되는데 이러한 중력에 의한 피가공재의 초기 처짐은 최종제 품의 형상에 직접적인 영향을 주게 된다. 이 경우 기존의 유한요소 해석 기법을 사용하여 초 기처짐을 제어하기 위한 판재의 가공전 고정용 금형(binder wrap)의 최적설계를 훌륭히 수행할 수 있다. 이같이 현재의 유한요소 해석법은 많은 기술적 과제를 지니고 있으나 동시에 소성가 공의 컴퓨터 응용설계를 실현하기 위한 궁극적 도구로서 매우 큰 활용 잠재력을 지니고 있다.

  • [ $H_2$ ] uptake into $Pt/MoO_{3}$ was enhanced with an increased calcination temperature. Selective CO pulse chemisorption demonstrated that free Pt surface area was decreased as calcination temperature was increased. Characteristic techniques were dedicated to elucidate the closer contact at adlineation sites between Pt and $MoO_3$ substrates. Calcination resulted in supplying the hydrogen access into more $MoO_3$ particles and controlling the kinetics of hydrogen uptake.

  • 저온용 Mn-Cu계 촉매의 적정 적용온도를 파악하기 위해 다양한 조건에서 소성하였으며 소성한 촉매를 사용하여 반응온도, 유속 등에 따른 탈질효율 변화를 조사하였다. 실험결과 촉매의 전처리과정에서 바나듐-티타니아계 촉매보다 낮은 일정온도 이상으로 적용시 촉매의 산화가, pore 등에서 변화가 일어나며 궁극적으로 활성저하로 귀결됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • Electrically assisted (EA) springback reduction of grade 2 titanium alloys is demonstrated through u-bending experiments. A single pulse of electric current having a short duration of less than 0.5 sec is applied to a specimen during u-bending. The effect of the electric current condition on the resultant springback is then evaluated. The experimental result shows that the springback of the selected grade 2 titanium alloy could almost be eliminated through application of electric current with a duration less than 0.5 sec prior to unloading. Lastly, an exemplary industrial application of EA springback control is presented.

Evaluation of Effect of Electric Energy Density on the Electroplasticity of 5052-H32 Aluminum Alloys (5052-H32 알루미늄 합금의 통전 소성에 미치는 에너지밀도의 영향 검증)

  • In the present study, electroplastic tensile behaviors of aluminum 5052-H32 alloy specimens with different gage dimensions are investigated under a constant electric energy density (electric energy per unit volume). The experimental results show that equivalent electric energy densities induce nearly identical electroplastic behaviors even with different gage dimensions (length, width, or volume). Additionally, the experimental results demonstrate that the electroplastic behavior of the selected aluminum alloy is best described by the electric energy density, which is a function of current density and current duration, rather than individual current density or current duration. The results of the present study suggest that the electric energy density may replace current density and current duration as a design parameter in electrically assisted forming processes.
