This thesis focuses on Wandeuki and Elegant Lies - novels written by Kim Ryeo-reong and adapted into the film by Director Lee Han; this thesis analyzes the process of storytelling being transformed as the media is converted. Also, this thesis discusses cultural-political implications of transmedia storytelling where different narrative responses coexist concerning post-IMF family disorganization and "individualization." First of all, this thesis critically reviews existing discourses on the concept of transmedia storytelling and refers to 'transfictionality' the narratological concept of Marie-Laure Ryan in order to look into media conversion storytelling that starts from original novels. The novels Wandeuki and Elegant Lies show two aspects of "individualization" that adopts existential conditions of family disorganization. Wandeuki deviates from patriarchal family romance through self-discovery and exhibits loose family bond, which is something similar to companionship of close individuals. Elegant Lies shows individualization of pain by portraying a teenager who found herself completely isolated, while showing that it is impossible for the people left behind to mourn. On the other hand, director Lee Han's films and show stories in which family members, who are confronting family dissolution, rediscover and restore their families against family dissolution. The film promotes the expansion of family community through multicultural identity, and the film completes condolence of the people left behind by having the remaining families survive as survivors of suicide. The storyworld of the novels puts emphasis on 'self-discovery' of individual adolescents, while the storyworld of the movies puts emphasis on 'rediscovery of family'. Through transformation of storytelling - especially the redesigning of narrative structures called "modification" - transmedia storytelling shows that the relationship between media-converted texts is far from "faithful representation," but rather, shows conflicting themes and perspectives. With a reference point of 'the emergence of character' transmedia storytelling, which is predicated on the original work but aims to free itself from the original work by transforming storytelling through media conversion, opens up polyphonic storyworld by creating heterogeneous voices. In the post IMF-era, where uncertainty mounts over family dissolution and individualization, polyphonic storyworld created by transmedia storytelling provides an opportunity to experience disparate desires over individual freedom/risk and complacency toward community. We can call this the cultural-political implication of transmedia storytelling based on transferring, transcednding, and transforming.

This study was conducted to present the stylistic differences between Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie, famous as writers of classical mystery novels, through data analysis, and further to present the analytical methodology of the study of style based on text mining. The reason why we chose mystery novels for our research is because the unique devices that exist in classical mystery novels have strong stylistic characteristics, and furthermore, by choosing Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie, who are also famous to the general reader, as subjects of analysis, so that people who are unfamiliar with the research can be familiar with them. The primary objective of this study is to identify how the differences exist within the text and to interpret the effects of these differences on the reader. Accordingly, in addition to events and characters, which are key elements of mystery novels, the writer's grammatical style of writing was defined in style and attempted to analyze it. Two series and four books were selected by each writer, and the text was divided into sentences to secure data. After measuring and granting the emotional score according to each sentence, the emotions of the page progress were visualized as a graph, and the trend of the event progress in the novel was identified under eight themes by applying Topic modeling according to the page. By organizing co-occurrence matrices and performing network analysis, we were able to visually see changes in relationships between people as events progressed. In addition, the entire sentence was divided into a grammatical system based on a total of six types of writing style to identify differences between writers and between works. This enabled us to identify not only the general grammatical writing style of the author, but also the inherent stylistic characteristics in their unconsciousness, and to interpret the effects of these characteristics on the reader. This series of research processes can help to understand the context of the entire text based on a defined understanding of the style, and furthermore, by integrating previously individually conducted stylistic studies. This prior understanding can also contribute to discovering and clarifying the existence of text in unstructured data, including online text. This could help enable more accurate recognition of emotions and delivery of commands on an interactive artificial intelligence platform that currently converts voice into natural language. In the face of increasing attempts to analyze online texts, including New Media, in many ways and discover social phenomena and managerial values, it is expected to contribute to more meaningful online text analysis and semantic interpretation through the links to these studies. However, the fact that the analysis data used in this study are two or four books by author can be considered as a limitation in that the data analysis was not attempted in sufficient quantities. The application of the writing characteristics applied to the Korean text even though it was an English text also could be limitation. The more diverse stylistic characteristics were limited to six, and the less likely interpretation was also considered as a limitation. In addition, it is also regrettable that the research was conducted by analyzing classical mystery novels rather than text that is commonly used today, and that various classical mystery novel writers were not compared. Subsequent research will attempt to increase the diversity of interpretations by taking into account a wider variety of grammatical systems and stylistic structures and will also be applied to the current frequently used online text analysis to assess the potential for interpretation. It is expected that this will enable the interpretation and definition of the specific structure of the style and that various usability can be considered.

This article sees the core characteristics of the elderly movies, which have become active in the 2000s, as the structure of fantastic dream. And I analyze the aspect and significance of the structure of fantastic dream .of 'reality-dream-reality', which is centered on . The structure of fantastic dream. is a traditional form handed down from the Silla era, and it is well-known in "Gumoshinwha" and "Guunmong". In , the aspect of the structure of fantastic dream is summarized as 1)the duality of person and space, 2)the boundary between reality and unrealism. In this film, heroine is suffering from a disagreement with daughter-in-law, hospitalized in a nursing home. After heroine passed the world of dreams, becomes a new person. expresses the process of solving the conflict of the characters, realizing the hope, and the process of mental rebirth through a structure of fantastic dream. The elderly movies accept the universality of the structure of fantastic dream and the special characteristics of an aging society.

The purpose of this study was to assess the performance of Korean public libraries based on the national representative sample using Vakkari and Serola's (2012) public library outcome scale. Conducting a web-based survey to 1,000 Korean adults nationwide, the responses of 629 respondents who had visited the public library in the past year were analyzed. Results showed that, among the 19 benefit areas, "reading fiction and non-fiction" was the most perceived benefit area followed by "acquiring educational opportunities", and "self-development during leisure time". The benefits were considerably lowly perceived in the rest 16 areas. Different from the original four-factor structure, "reading/self development" were emerged as a new factor in this Korean sample. The benefits were perceived differently by citizens with different socio-demographic backgrounds. Results informed the current status of the public library performance and values perceived by the general Korean adults population across the nation.

최근 들어 네트워크1로 연결된 체계들을 효율적으로 운영하여 최대의 효과를 달성하기 많은 연구들이 수행되고 있다. 하지만 지휘통제체계 네트워크 구조 분석에 관한 연구는 상대적으로 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지휘통제체계 중 육군의 SPIDER체계를 대상으로 소설 네트워크 분석 (Social Network analysis)기법을 이용하여 중앙성분석과 시각화(Visualization)를 통해 핵심노드를 식별하는 arms value 알고리즘을 제안하고 분석 결과를 기반으로 TICN체계 전력화시 기초 연구자료로 활용하고자 한다.

복잡계 과학의 발달에 따라 많은 사회 네트워크들이 분석되고 있다. 우리는 연결선수, 중간성(betweenness), 결집계수와 같은 링크수를 중심으로 네트워크의 구조적 분석에서 나아가 복잡한 네트워크 속에서 핵심 되는 중심 모듈을 찾아 분석하였다. K-core알고리즘은 복잡계 네트워크를 가중치가 낮은 링크와 노드를 단계적으로 제거하여 복잡한 네트워크의 의미를 분석함에 있어 핵심이 되는 모듈을 얻는데 용이하다. 이에 소설, 영화, 과학 교과서, 단백질 상호작용 네트워크와 같은 다양한 분야에 이 알고리즘을 직접 적용해보았다. 그 결과, 각기 복잡한 네트워크로부터 핵심이 되는 모듈을 찾아낼 수 있었고, 전체 네트워크에서는 발견하기 힘든 유용한 정보들을 도출할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 k-core 알고리즘을 통해 핵심 네트워크를 구축하여 유용한 정보를 도출할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.

소설 데이터는 인터넷 상의 수 많은 개인과 개인의 상호 작용에 의하여 연결되어 있으며, 이러한 데이터를 분석하여, 분석 대상에 내재하고 있는 구조와 특성을 파악하는 일은 중요하다. 특히, 개인 추천을 위해서는 개별 데이터들의 관계 그래프를 활용하여 빠르고 정확하게 추천 값을 도출하는 것이 효율적이다. 하지만, 기존 추천 기법으로는 신규 사용자와 아이템이 끊임없이 등장하는 상황을 즉각적으로 반영하기가 어렵고, 또한 많은 결측값을 포함하는 sparse 한 데이터일 경우에는 추천 시스템의 연산 공간과 시간에 많은 제약이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 Spark GraphX 를 활용한 개인 추천 시스템을 설계 및 개발하였으며, 이를 통하여 사용자와 아이템간에 내재하는 복합 요인이 반영된 그래프 기반 추천을 실행하여, 개인 추천 결과의 우수성을 확인하였다.

A visual novel, a type of digital content combining novel and game, was designed as hypermedia which includes various media, for instance, image, sound, and video. The narrative of visual novel contains multimedia elements and highlights multi-scenario structures based on hypertext. Prior to creating visual novel scenario, a writer should thoroughly consider two main points. First of all, the scenario should cover the multimedia features of visual novel. Secondly, the scenario should be structured as a multi-scenario providing with performativity to players for interaction with readers. This study examines the influence of changes in platforms on visual novel scenario adjusted to mobile environment. It would provide an opportunity to understand how storytelling changes and adapts to rapid transformation of digital media contents.

The purpose of this paper was to empirically examine college students' on-line bookstore utilization status. The focus of this study was placed on three major issues. First. what are the college students' motivations in using on -line' bookstore. Second. what are the major determinants of college students' on -line bookstore utilization. Third. how book genres are related to students' on -line bookstore utilization behavior. Data were collected from 215 college students during October 10, 2005 to October 17, 2005. The analyses showed following results: First, the college students' on -line bookstore utilization motivations were grouped into three areas-convenience motivation, interaction motivation, and information collecting motivation. Second. college students who were oriented toward convenience motivation, who were more interested in on-line bookstores, and who were more satisfied with on-line services, made more frequent visits to on-line bookstore sites. Third, college students who allocated less time to book readings showed a tendency of buying books through on-line bookstores. Finally, college students who were more interested in on -line bookstores showed more satisfaction and bought such various books as literature, hobby or practical books, foreign novels, and general readings. This finding suggests that in order to activate on-line bookstore business. book industries, especially the publishers and/or distributors, have to develop new ideas which can make an appeal to college students who are believed to be critical book readers.

This study tries to examine the emotion of the elite characters in Son Jangsoon's early novel, The Koreans. In this novel, most characters are found to have an envy feeling, except for two female characters, Heeyeon and Sue Han. Although the writer does not consciously explore the envy feeling here, she excellently represents the harmful effects of the envy feeling. In this novel, the envy feeling is related to the desire for success and its frustration. In 1960's, people had high expectation of improvement in their individual lives. The elite groups were more likely to have a successful life with good education. But in this novel, these elite people suffer from frustration of their desire and experience of the envy feeling. The impressive point in this novel is that not only females but also males are shown to have the envy feeling. Envious people have the tendency to compare themselves with people around them, to feel shame in an inferior position and to aspire for superiority. In these envious characters, the feeling of envy reveals their lack, their inferiority and it never provides them with the way to escape from their suffering situation. The writer suggests that the envy feeling can be overcome by pursuing other valuable things and focussing not on other people's desire but on their own desire.
