  • We've already living our lives in the 21s1 century. This century, even alone, means enormous changes and innovations. Namely, we have been encountering various forms of generation changes such as digital generation, globalization generation, consumer generation, and brand power generation. Among these, there have been extraordinary changes in consumers and the environment of consumer market, and it is noteworthy of paying attention to the transition of the leader of the consumer market from producers to consumers. Such changes will affect not only all fields related to market environment but also entire fields including future products and sales. Hereupon, it is intended to foresee and analyze the trend in the consumer market of the 21st century and investigate changes in the consumer market and the environment of consumers. Also, the world has brought a single space of economy along with globalization and the era of self-imposed competition, and multi-national enterprises have emerged and, at the same time, their brands can be seen around the world. Hence, they have been trying to maintain their own power brands for the century. In the past, brand meant the name of a product in general. But, in the present, it has another meaning such that the brand itself provides psychological satisfaction and trustworthiness. Hereupon, this study intends to foresee changes in the trend of the consumer market of the 21s1 century, to ,outlook the trend of the consumer market along with study of power brand strategies, and to pursue creative strategies for power brand.

Improvement and Educational Effectiveness of Fashion Consumption Trend Analysis Class Based on IC-PBL (IC-PBL 기반의 패션 소비트렌드 분석 수업 개선 및 교육적 효과)

  • With the development of information and communication technology, interest in new educational approaches that can enhance the learning performance of learners with improved information literacy skills is increasing, and universities are actively promoting educational innovation to foster the talents required by society. In the field of fashion studies education, which is closely related to the fashion industry, there is a strong need to develop field-linked educational programs that reflect the trends in the industry and changes in the educational system. The purpose of this study was to introduce industry-coupled problem-based learning (IC-PBL) to the course "Understanding Fashion Consumption Trends" for non-fashion majors to reflect the current needs and strengthen the educational effectiveness of the learners through a survey. A seven-step curriculum (introduction to the class, practitioner's problem, learner's problem analysis, organizing concepts related to variables, information collection and scenario writing, presentation and scenario proposal, and evaluation) not only enhanced learners' understanding of fashion consumption trends and the fashion industry but also greatly amplified learners' satisfaction with the class. The results of the survey showed that the seven-step curriculum was effective in increasing learners' self-directed learning ability, problem-solving ability, and confidence in learning. Self-directed learning ability was stronger than other factors, consistent with the core principle of problem-based learning to empower learners to take the initiative and promote self-directed learning. Each factor analyzed was positively correlated.

  • Recently, as more consumers spend more time at home due to COVID-19, the time spent on digital consumption such as SNS and OTT, which can be easily used non-face-to-face, naturally increased. Since 2019, when COVID-19 occurred, digital consumption has doubled from 44% to 82%, and it is important to quickly and accurately grasp and apply trends by analyzing consumers' emotions due to the rapidly changing digital characteristics. However, there are limitations in actually implementing services using emotional analysis in small systems rather than large-scale systems, and there are not many cases where they are actually serviced. However, if even a small system can easily analyze consumer trends, it will help the rapidly changing modern society. In this paper, we propose a lightweight trend analysis system that builds a learning network through Transfer Learning (Fine Tuning) of the BERT Model and interlocks Crawler for real-time data collection.

  • As consumers' consumption activities become more active due to the activation of online shopping malls, companies are conducting item trend analyses to boost sales. The existing item trend analysis methods are analyzed by considering only the activities of users in online shopping mall services, making it difficult to identify trends for new items without purchasing history. In this paper, we propose a trend analysis method that combines data in online shopping mall services and social network data to analyze item trends in users and potential customers in shopping malls. The proposed method uses the user's activity logs for in-service data and utilizes hot topics through word set extraction from social network data set to reflect potential users' interests. Finally, the item trend change is detected over time by utilizing the item index and the number of mentions in the social network. We show the superiority of the proposed method through performance evaluations using social network data.

  • The recent rapid increase in single-person households has had a significant impact on the art performance market as well as the overall consumption trend. With the proportion of one-person viewers in the form of viewing the performance nearly half, the new term "Hongongjok" is widely used. Representing the trends of 'one-person consumption' and 'consumption for me' is the concept of 'self-gift' that consumes special for myself. This study introduced the concept of self-gift as a framework for understanding a new group of performance viewers who lavishly investing in consumption for one's sake. It also demonstrated how self-gift motivation affects the perceived value and the intention of self-gift. As a result of the analysis, the motivation for reward, therapeutic personal disappointment, and therapeutic negative mood reduction of the self-gift had a significant effect on the intention of self-gift through the perceived value of classical music performances. In addition, it was also revealed through the multi-group analysis that there was a significant difference in the effect of self-gift motivation factors between a single viewer and two or more accompanying viewers. This study contributes to the fact that the art performance industry can be provided the first theoretical basis for understanding these customer groups in order to respond to the consumption trend for one-person viewers. It also offered practical implications for revitalizing the stagnant classical music performance market by framing the art performance as a self-gift.

  • COVID-19 is also influencing the coffee industry. This will increase untact consumption, a new consumption trend. Consumption utilizing online channels and delivery service applications that represent untact consumption is becoming commonplace. The coffee industry is also increasingly using coffee shops with drive-through and smart ordering systems that can be ordered with minimal contact. While most of the untact services are preempted at franchise stores, many independent coffee shops still offer differentiated services by communicating directly with customers. However, along with the prolonged COVID-19 infection, coffee shops in the present era, which cannot be free from infectious diseases, have no choice but to worry about delivery services. Therefore, this study analyzed the factors that influence coffee delivery services. Research results due to the influence of COVID-19, regular delivery services have increased along with coffee delivery services. Regular delivery services will play a central role in coffee delivery services due to increased use of home cafes by consumers who want to enjoy coffee in various ways.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the consumer's purchasing behavior and its factors when a convenience store brand is marketing new PB products online. For this study, we surveyed 2030 millennials about the purchase behavior of convenience store PB products and the paths to encounter PB products. As a result, consumers who purchase convenience store PB products were exposed to the product through SNS or YouTube, and they tended to join the trend by posting on SNS after purchase. In this study, we want to examine the consumption trends of millennials that have this type of consumption and the concept of online marketing that affects them. It is hoped that future consumer purchases will continue to be valuable consumption rather than relying on trends.

  • The research was conducted with awareness of cultural uniqueness in each country and similarities and universality among countries. On that account, it raised questions about the idea that social well-being can be achieved only materialistic consumption and its cultural symbolism can lead to incongruity in social hierarchy and then dysfunctions in a counter way. On the other hand, the value of well-being can be achieved by many different ways and within one's limited budget as well as material consumption. This paper provides basic information about the development of essential wellbeing products and strategies for building market segmentation in the industry. The research also provides policy makers with the direction of welfare policy in our society to establish a foundation of creating conditions for true well being. This paper will be helpful in fulfilling well-being in our whole society.
